I went into Origin, and bought the Mass Effect Trilogy, which included lots of yummy things like Mass Effect 2 with Extras, and Mass Effect 3 with extras. I came over to social.bioware.com, and started filling out my profile, and registering games against my account. I was surprised to find that even though I have a valid key for ME2, I can't use it to register the ME2 game against my profile on the social.bioware.com site.

I did split up the key with hyphens to fit the formatting suggestions, but neither that nor feeding the key in as copied from the Origin page would work. So, where should I go from here? I did happen to (finally) read Volus Warlord's Painfully Detailed post about what games could be registered, but I'd still love an answer as to why I can't register modern-ish games?

Regards, Brickviking (Dr Smokey)

I also owned ME2 with a key that social.bioware.com won't accept.  Your only recourse is to contact Origin support and ask for another key (they'll give you another copy of the game).  Take great care of the DRM activation though as I got tripped into that nightmare.
