To someone who own and uses a WiiU as one gaming platform alongside others, namely Windows, Linux, and Xbox360, all the mindless insults being hurled in this thread make it look like there's a lot of badly uninformed people posting today.

So when someone starts a thread purely to mock people for choosing to play the game on a different platform, it's a little sad to see how many others jump on the bandwagon and even defend them.

 

But I don´t think this thread is meant to mock them. You see things so very negatively sometimes.

If you were a WiiU ME3 player, and you came to BSN to discuss ME3, would you feel welcome? (No need to answer, rhetorical question.)

 

So the logic becomes circular: WiiU players not welcome, no WiiU players here, therefore no one plays on WiiU.

 

It's still amazing to me that someone who chooses to own a minority piece of hardware can be ridiculed for it. And that one can quote easily verified facts and have the non-facts recited as truth in response.

 

Is that seeing things negatively? Maybe. How could this thread be seen positively, then?

It has nothing to do with choosing to own minority piece of hardware. Look at PC players, constantly targets of fun for being Master race or haxor race. Or console players, being labeled as peasants. No one takes that seriously. (Well someone actually does, real platform wars are what seems amazing to me. But that doesn´t seem to be the case here)

 

I am sorry you feel offended by simple light hearted thread. But you tend to see things where there are none. My impression was that there is no resent towards Wii users on this board. I hope it´s not just me...

There are about 6 million WiiUs, and about 1/3 of a million copies of ME3 sold for the WiiU. Yes, that's small by comparison with the numbers of PS3s or Xbox360s, but it's still plenty  big enough to support a pugging community.

 

There are plenty of games in the Steam top 100 that have fewer players than ME3 on the WiiU.

 

So I stand by what I said, I'm still surprised at the perceived need for derision, as typified by remarks like the one about people over the age of 10 playing on Nintendo. You'd think we could all accept other people thinking differently from us by now.

I don´t think they are upset. I just think they consider it slightly funny, because Wii community must be very small, so one has to wonder how viable it is to pug there.

My GF has the Wii U, so when I'm there I occasionally try to play ME3 MP on it.. usual wait time for Gold.. idk.. can't standing sitting there longer than 5 minutes thus far... SIlver 1-5 minutes (if ever) and last night I did find a Bronze match after 2 min wait.. and played 4 straight games. some games had 3, 4 or even 2... people in the match. It's quite hard to wait that long, after one has played 2000+ games on the Xbox 360 such as I have.

Lol. As if the platform argument is a new thing. Informered or not I think it's human nature to verbally eviscerate each other for differences, the internet just makes it a lot easier since there are no reprecussions most of the time for the poster.
