It's not that lame, elections and shifts would likely have taken place after an event like the Siege of the Citadel occurred, etc. I don't think it's that important anyhow.

BioWare never even gave them names, they clearly weren't that important

But they are probably still just as useless as the League of Nations and the United Nations combined.

The Council could ask Shepard for a favour.
I just hope we get to see Udina in the game.

Really, where do you people get this stuff?
I just "saw" the old council. (Holos)
All these assumptions are getting pretty pathetic, seeing as how this is like the 2nd or 3rd thread about being wrong.

Yes, because it makes sense to save them just for them to be replaced in the next game. Right.

All three of the BIGGEST impact choice carryovers (pointed out by the devs themselves) with our save games have been found out to have miniscule impact in the story. I wonder if Bioware has enough chutzpah to try and fool us to "wait for ME3".

My guess is you tried to go to the council in citadel space but couldn't. But they make cameos across the game. You'll have to wait and see.

From the review on NowGamer. It says:
"For example, your decision to let the council die or to save them is
mentioned in a number of conversations, but you’ll never get to
actually meet the new – or old – council itself."

Paragon or Renegade/Save the Council = orignal council with new human member
Paragon/Sacrifice the Council = New Council with human chairman but with alien members
Renegade/Sacrifice the Council = New Council composed entirely of humans

The game is better if that kind of lazy characterization is left out. (Although, on the other hand, the way they finished each others sentences was funny-- I liked to picture them rehearsing it beforehand and arguing over who gets to say which parts.)

That's not really surprising. Did anyone think these decisions would be anything but cosmetic? The only way Bio can track and reference all these decisions is to make them fundamentally irrelevant in the new game. Sure there'll be cosmetic differences, like Alenko instead of Ash, or Wrex instead of random Krogan, but they can't make them actually matter too much because of the huge amount of work involved that half of the old players and all of the new players won't actually see.
