PS3 version or PC version...?

I'm thorn on which version of DA: Inquisition to get.

If the gameplay is similar to DA: Origins, I have no doubt that I'd be more confortable playing the PC version, with mouse and keyboard.

But these days, big budget videogames are always made with consoles in mind, so I'm afraid the gameplay here will be much more action-based rather than strategy-based, and therefore more aimed to be played with a joypad rather than mouse&keyboard.

However, I admittedly don't know much about the gameplay of this game... so can you give me some suggestions, people?

We haven't played it, either. Apparently it's fully tailored for KB+M, with a UI to match. Hopefully we'll see it in action before long.

Depends on how good your PC is. I don't expect the PS3 version to look or run that great (using other cross gen games as comparison) If it was PS4 unless you had an uber PC I'd say it was a no brainer, but this is less clear cut.

So, we still haven't gotten a confirmation about how exactly the gameplay feels like (wether it's like DA: Origins, or like DA2)?

PS3 version will probaply be inferior in quality of scenery and cinematics to new generation consoles and PC.

I'm not as much concerned with the graphics quality, as I am with the gameplay style.

I can't imagine myself playing a game with DA: Origins'gameplay on a PS3.... but I don't see myself playing DA2 on a PC either.

Have you not seen the gameplay video's from E3?  You can play either way, tactically or..the other.

Well I have observed that when you cast an AOE now, the game will autopause so you can target it..That used to be something that was much easier to do on the PC than on a console.

gamepad is going to be easier for character actions, and I assume the mouse will be faster for selecting on a tactical level.

My impression is that it'll play more like DA2 than DA:O.  But I didn't find DA2 all that different from DA:O at it's base.

Call me thick-headed, but I'm confused on wether the gameplay is more Origins-like or DA2-like... >_>

Somewhere between the two. The character animations and skills are DA2 , but the tactical level, the monster placement and lack of waves, is more like Origins.

So, I took a look around the web, and we don't even know what mage specializations are there?

I was looking forward to the shapeshifting skill tree, but turns out we really know very little about this game in reality...

I'll be playing on a PS4, dont really game on the PC. Notice all the demos were played using a control pad.  So am sure it's well playable on a console.

In your case, suggest you play on the PC for better graphical expirience. Surely a PC can top the PS3 in that department.

Cue the PC elitist fanboys ...

Once again: it's not about graphics. Don't care!

It's about the gameplay. Point-and-click, old school western rpg like Baldur's Gate or Neverwinter Nights 2 are just made for a mouse+keyboard combination.

But these days, all videogames are much more action-oriented rather than stratey-oriented so, after seeing DA2, I'm worried Inquisition will be made with joypads rather than keyboards in mind.

So I wonder if Bioware will actually make Inquisition into an old-school strategical rpg or if it's a modern hack-and-slash. That's what will define on which system I'll buy it. (In all honesty, I prefer the smarter and slower tactical approach much more, but I do believe we're not gonna see it again these days...)

Somewhere between the two. If you want something old school, Natural Doctrine is out on the PS3 around the same time.

Yeah, but another thing I really want from an rpg is an intriguing plot. Doesn't look like Natural Doctrine offers that.

I suppose the old days of difficult western rpgs that felt like a chess game are over. Perhaps I'll get the PS3 version then....

Probably PC since most games can let you use a controller anyway. PS3 also has the unfortunate luck of game breaking bugs sometimes..

I always find it funny how people will reply in topics without actually properly reading the OP and just assuming the title is everything.

Actually we do know this as it is on the officlal page. One of them has been revealed as Knight Enchanter, with the other two alleged to be Necromancy and Fade Specialist. As for the 'normal' mage trees we don't know which we will have for that but most likely akin to the previous games.

As far as gameplay goes, they have pretty much stated you can play it either way as some others have stated. Whilst it does seem to have some of the more actiony pace that DA2 has. They have stated they have slowed down the pace for some things to make it look more appropriate. This has been shown in the demo when the party has thought the Dragon and you can see Iron Bull swinging his weapon around in a slow manner as should be for a big 2 hander like he is holding. Considering that it looks like the PC will have controller support, you could always just purchase a controller for the PC and have the best of both worlds. Just a suggestion :)

PC. Because if you don't feel comfortable playing this particular game on the Mouse and Keyboard, you can plug in a controller and it will convert the control scheme to that of the Xbox 360 version... and if you do enjoy the M + K/B controllers, then you can use 'em instead. ;)

Guess my point was not clear, maybe rushed. The point I was driving at was, as many have mentioned already, since the game supports control pads via PC, I'd play it on the PC over the PS3, because of the option of using the mouse or the pad  .

I like the slow stuff too, I preffered the DA:O play style when compared to DA:2 (a combination would be sweet), too bad my PC can barely even push 20 fps with most of the old games.

Agree, hopefully a demo will appear, here's to hoping it plays well on the control pad.

PC. Use a controller or keyboard/mouse, the choice is yours.  You're more likely to find tactical games of any kind on this platform.

Plus, you can buy games at huge discounts (on Steam, for example) or grab classic older stuff from GOG if you are so inclined.

Disadvantage: you can't rent games, as far as I know.

From what gameplay they have shown it looks like it might be based of these few games: Dragon's Dogma, Divinity 2 and KoA Reckoning

Playing 2014 multiplatforms on a PS3 sounds kinda horrifying.
