Which would suggest there are 2 heterosexual companions.

I am fairly sure the homosexual companion is Dorian ( 2 homosexual elves out of 2 would be overkill, so it can't be Solas and I doubt it's Blackwall either ).

That is entirely fan speculation. We know there will be a variety of sexualities, and the devs have implied that there will be options for everyone, but we don't have numbers.

i was surprised too. I would have laid my bottom dollar on her being the straight option. She just seems the type guys normally pick. I thought Vivienne would be the lesbian option since so much about her seems to appeal to women then men. I am more than happy with Sera, just quite surprised she is ours.

I never play female characters...So my male inquisitor will just ignore romancing. I am not fan of males in women clothes (cassandra), so my options are gone. Scribbles look ugly also, but we did not see her very clear, only concepts and far away shots.

There are always going to be people who demand fanservice female characters. I'm grateful that BioWare has the integrity to ignore them.

amusing that this particular character is lesbian. and possibly is up for cross species relationships.
On the one hand i never play female characters and it breaks my immersion into the game.... On the other:
- Male character romances are terrible
- Male voice actor is not to my liking
- On a smaller female body, bigger daggers would look like swords, since pretty much confirmed that there is no dual wielding swords.
But then i remember there is no long haired women, cause frostbyte blah blah blah and i am waiting for an announcement of third gender.

That's your opinion , Cassandra doesn't look like a man at all , and getting quite sick of that comparison. So what shorter hair , bigger jaw (even tho more recent pics show her jaw much more sharp) and a scar and wearing full-plate = male?

Same as above. Cassandra = man in women's clothing is 100% wrong , and makes no sense. What's wrong with a female character coated in plate?
I have to admit part of me is worried about Sera being announced for Women only, because as much as I love her, guys normally have their go to romance, and Sera was that to a T. Many more guys will be upset over that than if Cassandra or Vivienne were the lesbian options. I worry that may bring a storm.

My straight male inquisitor will be choosing from:
- Scribbles, which we did not see properly, but she looks ugly and probably will have the typical Orlesian personality, with the accent and all that. Mind you, i consider her to be the best option by a country mile.
- Vivienne, if available at all.... She is.....bold, commanding, obsessed with shoes and arrogant.(this last thing remains to be seen, a wild guess by me) Basically the exact opposite description of a woman, who a male in 21st century will fall in love with. Or even bang her.
- My buddy cass, who i like to drink beer with and watch the world cup games.
@vin cass is tearing open 8ft tall iron walls with her bare hands, she is Aveline all over again. If you watch game of thrones, she is the Brienne character.

My favorite part was 'ashamed of being straight'. Like wow, having some gay characters makes people ashamed of being straight. That's interesting to hear. Also since when is bioware 'alienating' straight dudes? They will give you someone to romance. The problem isn't bioware, the problem is your tastes. Force you to be female? Do you know you can play as a dude too right?
