So, if Sera is lesbian.. that means there's a homosexual male too, right?

I want to go to GaymerX so bad, considering that this is the last one until further notice.

But I live all the way from Australia and the air fares and accommodation are too much for my puny uni-student budget to handle.

I live in Australia too!

Which is pretty weird, because I'm a panda.

I bet this forum never had an Australian panda before.

Nope. Not a single one.

Ever.

I don't find that I've posted anything offensive in this dialog chain. In fact, I don't even share that poster in question's opinion of Cass. I just don't feel like it's my place to demand/suggest/advise that he clean it up. If, as you postulated, it was truly offensive, then the moderators should be consulted, that is their job, to define what is and what isn't acceptable behavior here. The problem with "self-policing" is, as we can see, differing opinions about what is acceptable, and why. Not to mention people that will jump in with a one off to get to throw the accusation of misogyny around, such as this post.

Again that post said it was misogynistic to say those things. I would actually agree with them on the whole, that doesn't mean everyone saying that is a misogynist.

I mentioned before that saying someone's opinion is misogynistic is not the same as saying they are a misogynist. Anyway I am tired of arguing about this so I will stop.

That is entirely fan speculation.  We know there will be a variety of sexualities, and the devs have implied that there will be options for everyone, but we don't have numbers.

As for who, though, it could really be anybody.  I didn't expect Sera to be the lesbian option, to be honest.  But she does set a good precedence that maybe the gay option will also be a companion romance.

If we're going for the unusual/unexpected, I vote Iron Bull for the gay LI... <3

Nah, the best "shock value" would be Cullen. I can even write a "How did that happen" scenario:

After the events of The Broken Circle, Cullen found comfort in the arms of Terry the Templar, and not only gave up on mages, but women as well.

I never said it would be a good one, just that I could write one.

What are you even talking about?  <_<

"Also what I do is different because I don't make it us vs them like most people here do. I don't claim that god is on my side when I bash opinions."

You basically claimed your arguments were better than your opponents because you were less us vs them. I pointed out that you do generalise people allot which in my opinion is kind of and us vs them.

Also you ignored one of my entire responses and decided to respond to one sentence instead so can we not?

I'm not trying to shortcut anything. I just don't think your attacks on people in this thread is really that much about people in this thread. You are just as free to ignore me btw.

It is important if you are going to say that is what people are saying.

So it's ok for you to shut me down saying I'm going on the warpath but if I say that I do something different is putting myself above the rest. There is a certain difference between voicing a concern and spouting idealism because someone disagrees with your views and you don't have a valid counterargument. But well, if that's what it's going to be you can accuse me that I spout idealism too because I'm saying that voicing a negative opinion is a legitimate thing to do

Also sure I'm just imagining the thing, that's why the moment I made the first post, I got the exact same reaction from most people and now there are so many people explaining why using "ugly" and "masculine" in the same sentence can be perceived as a bad thing so we can actually come to an understanding. You keep arguing about the irrelevant part when you are actually trying to answer my question. It's completely pointless, just hinders our ability to communicate.

Anyway I got tired. Trying to keep up with all the people through multiple pages is disorienting. Just know that I don't consider you an opponent. This is hardly a debate. It's an inquiry.

Anyway, sounds a lot more fun than sweating over an illustration assignment, but never mind that!

So, about that homosexual male...

No! stop removing the context :/

Again, I just pointed out that what you were doing could be described as going on a warpath when you criticized others for doing so. I never said it was wrong I just viewed your critisms of other peoples arguments as hypocritical.

and I am done with this now.

If you viewed my criticism as hypocritical, how am I to continue making arguments without trying to reassert myself. I feel like I can't make my point. And if I think that you are misjudging me what is the point of moving forward. I need you to understand what I'm trying to say if I am to gain something from this conversation. Otherwise we are just wasting each other's time and the rest of the people that want to return to the topic get annoyed.

Hell this discussion really pushes my vocabulary, it's not my native language.

no idea what the sexual orientations of the other possible LI options will be. I thought Sera would be Bi because she is the only non-human female choice for possible LI. I thought for sure BW would have at least one non human available to guys. Maybe there's other NPC's available that we don't know abt? Because if there's race gating, too--what abt male dwarfs or male qunari PC's?

As it been confirmed that there is race gating? Or will it be "gating" based on the PC's actions/choices/behavior?

David Gaider confirmed race gating either yesterday or the day before I think, but all combinations should still have at least one option apparently.

lol, yeah. guess i am worried this may blow back on Bioware and if it does, we may not get LGBT romances again in awhile. Seen so many guys get worked up about Sera, and straight guys are just not used to having an option they want limited.

I'm suspecting that it's probably not that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things and I wouldn't worry too much about this.

I am a LONG time Bioware fan, day 1 in fact.  I see where this poster is coming from.  The Witcher barb aside, I too am starting to feel a little alienated.

As a reference point, take a peek at this discussion about how much women really talk: http://www.pbs.org/s...rejudice/women/

The point I'm hoping to illustrate is that if you have historically received the majority of the attention, receiving equal attention feels like alienation.  The example I'm specifically referring to from the link is the school classroom examples where teachers forced themselves to focus 50/50 on interacting with boys and girls, and some boys felt that women received 90% of the attention.

Perceptions are often tricky especially if they deviate from the status quo.

(The rest of the article is an interesting read too, IMO, but I mostly bring it up to hopefully grant some clarity to why you feel that way).  I'm a straight guy.  I don't feel as though DAI marginalizes my interests.

Also, several of the devs have pointed out that "race gating" doesn't mean that each race/gender/sexuality combination will have their "one option", which is how some people are taking it.  More likely, it probably means that one or two of LI's won't be romanceable by one or two of the races.  So it shouldn't reduce the options too greatly.  Of course, I'm just being optimistic now.
