So, if Sera is lesbian.. that means there's a homosexual male too, right?

I'm 99% sure Dorian will be the gay male companion and love interest. If Cullen is bisexual, this means gay men will have access to the two male characters I personally find attractive, which I hope makes up, at least in part, for the way they got shafted (hehehe) in ME3 with Cortez and in DAO with Zevran.

I'm on board with user CARPOOL's love interest assignment theory, which, if true, means Cassandra and Blackwall and Cullen and "Scribbles" are either the straight or bisexual options. I can't really complain, because when Inquisition was first announced to be in development I begged for romanceable Cassandra and Cullen... and they're in, in one way or another. At the moment, I'm not especially enthusiastic about my options as a straight woman, but I'm reserving judgement for when I play the game. Sometimes getting to know the characters and playing off their dynamic with my Inquisitor can change my opinion mid-game. :)

I don't know if we can assume that your (OP) assumption is true, but I would like there to be at least one gay male.

I have to admit part of me is worried about Sera being announced for Women only, because as much as I love her, guys normally have their go to romance, and Sera was that to a T. Many more guys will be upset over that than if Cassandra or Vivienne were the lesbian options. I worry that may bring a storm.

All depends on the person really , Sera being for FemQuisitors only only got a * man too bad * from me.. now if it was Cassandra? ..... *flips table*

Maybe you're just being too picky?
I mean, we can't expect *every* Dragon Age game to provide us with our *perfect* ideal for an LI.

lol, yeah. guess i am worried this may blow back on Bioware and if it does, we may not get LGBT romances again in awhile. Seen so many guys get worked up about Sera, and straight guys are just not used to having an option they want limited.

Straight: Cullen, Vivienne
Gay: Sera, Dorian
By: Scribbles, Cassandra

You can swap vivienne and scribbles but it matters a little..... Mind you i guessed all the companions but Cole (8/9) back in Feb-March. So you tell me who should i romance ? My taste : I like women, which are hot, charming, gentle, cute, cheery and easygoing. I do not want them to meet all those qualities, i want them to have at least of those. Even DA2 had Merrill which is cute and gentle, Isabella was hot(not for me but at least they tried) cheery and easygoing.

I don't think you need to worry. Bioware won't be impressed, and to be honest, except a few vocal people on this board, I'm quite sure that out there, it won't be a big deal.

Absolutely correct. If someone wants to complain about not getting something they would have liked, they're free to do so. If, however, they do so in a racist or blatantly sexist or homophobic manner, they'll be shown the door. And if they honestly think they're fomenting some kind of mass revolution, they'll undoubtedly be disappointed to discover just how much in the minority they actually are.

As for the "rage" regarding people discovering that a character on whom they'd already pinned their romantic hopes suddenly isn't available to them (either by way of gender or race, which are both possibilities in DAI) -- them's the breaks. One can either deal with their disappointment in an in-game manner (nothing like actually interacting with a character rather than thinking about them solely  in the abstract), they can play as a different PC (if romancing that one character is the most important thing to their game), or they can come to the forums and complain about how them not getting that option in the game is somehow a violation of their rights or part of a larger socio-political conspiracy. It won't get them anywhere, but so long as they do it politely and are considerate of other posters, they are certainly free to vent their frustrations.

Don't worry, comparing to those whining and to those that were sad but got over it, the majority was the latter. And bioware doesn't care about that because they already have many gay/bi fans that support them. Some straight dudes will have to deal with it. :)

You can take Vivienne , but keep your hands off Cassandra lol , Most likely (my guess) you'll get Viv but not Cassy.

They'll probably have a gay male to balance it out. Don't see why not.

So i guess you just spoiled the theme of DA IV: Nugs Invasion.

My straight male inquisitor will be choosing from:

- Scribbles, which we did not see properly, but she looks ugly and probably will have the typical Orlesian personality, with the accent and all that. Mind you, i consider her to be the best option by a country mile.

- Vivienne, if available at all.... She is.....bold, commanding, obsessed with shoes and arrogant.(this last thing remains to be seen, a wild guess by me) Basically the exact opposite description of a woman, who a male in 21st century will fall in love with. Or even bang her.

- My buddy cass, who i like to drink beer with and watch the world cup games.

@vin  cass is tearing open 8ft tall iron walls with her bare hands, she is Aveline all over again. If you watch game of thrones, she is the Brienne character.

Those are still options, even if they are options that don't appeal to your specific tastes.

All the women crying that the men aren't pretty enough.  All the men crying that the women aren't pretty enough.  You guys are so silly.

So the male inquisitor only gets Grace jones? And Cassandra ? She looks like a man. So is Biowear just trying to alienate there male fan base ? Or force you to be a. A female to Romance.sera? Well thank god for the witcher where I don't have to be ashamed of Being straight.ill wait for the reviews. And I'm canceling my pre order. Thank Biowear.

I am a LONG time Bioware fan, day 1 in fact.  I see where this poster is coming from.  The Witcher barb aside, I too am starting to feel a little alienated.

You're adorable.  Thanks for the laugh.

Oh wait, was that serious?  Because Vivienne and Cassandra are both gorgeous, and if you don't like them then that's on you.  There is also the mysterious and adorable unnamed Scribe Girl, who will most likely be an option if Cullen is.

The day that straight male options get cut is the day that nugs take over Thedas.  You'll be fine, dude.

Well now you can play as a female Inquisitor and listen to her voice all the time!

The poster was a little crude, but I can understand his feelings.  Cassandra is freaking ugly and she is a total ******.  This is what I got from Dragon Age 2, and from the trailer.  I'm sure her character will be fleshed out, but I am just saying.  This isn't a gay vs straight thing, I am and I am sure most if not all players are fine with the bisexual option for characters.  But locking a character down like this doesn't make much sense.

Haven't been this disappointed since ME3 and not being able to romance Traynor.

That's the best thing about opinions. There Opinions. In yours Cassanda is ugly and in mine she is not ugly at all and quite good looking.. I'm sure someone will mod (if Da3 allows it) and will make every companion *perfect* and that will fit your idea of whats *Good Looking* better.

It was kind of an accidental reveal.  Somebody on Heroes of Cosplay mentioned it.

And yet you guys are making it a gay vs. straight thing by claiming it is a slight against straight men.

What you think about Cassandra is your personal opinion.  It's not a conspiracy to deliberately give you only romances that don't appeal to you.  And wow, the insults against Cass are sure getting old.

The funny thing is that Traynor was the ONLY female option in ME3 that was not available to men.  What that tells me is that it wouldn't matter if every single other option was available to you--you'd still be upset that you couldn't have that one attractive woman.

Same here, dude.

ME2, another BW game that had a big cast did so much better. Miranda, jack, Jacob, Samara, Kelly, Thane, Tali....If this studio made the game it would be like Jack(vivienne - bold, hardcore, commanding), Jack (Cassandra, male build, commanding, strong, male hair), Jack ( Sarah, male hair, lesbian, strong, sloppy (for lack of a better word), cursing, speaking more "manly" so to say). And the last woman left is Scribbles, which i do not have enough info about.

There is an entire thread right below this one called "Female companions = sexy, male companions = average..."
