Patriarchal?

As if men are not expected to be pretty?

Let me point you to the most recent generation's heartrobbers: baby faced guys.

But hey, surround yourself in typical feminist ignorance.

Your kind tends to cry ''victim, victim'' when it suits them.

I mean damn, people will still freak out about body hair on women.

And it's their right to do so. There are beauty standards for both genders.

But don't claim women get the short stick, because the playing field is even.

Mmmh, no. It's not even. And you're only picking from "baby faced" guys to reinforce your point, Chris Evans is also found extremely attractive by the people I see, usually feminists themselves. Chris Hemsworth also, not to mention the guy who plays Derek Hale, not sure of his name. None of them are baby-faced, and yet they are all found very attractive by a large number of people.

See, guys aren't judged how well they can do their job based on how attractive they are physically. A guy won't be told he's too "pretty" to be a scientist or write science fiction novels, things that have been said to actual professional women.

Patriarchal standards don't just hurt women, they also hurt men by enforcing and upholding certain strict behaviours. You're expected to be aggressive, emotionless, always want sex, and if you complain about sex you didn't want you're weak, if you're abused by your partner, you're weak. This especially happens when said partner is female, she's a woman, she's too weak to hurt you, you're a man, you shouldn't be so weak to let a woman hurt you. This is even worse if a young boy is abused by an older woman, far too often older men will comment that he was lucky and should've enjoyed it.

If you think feminism is working towards some kind of female dominated hellscape where men are subservient, you really need to meet better feminists.

Humans, mostly.

Depends on the type of model, actually.  Certain models are meant to essentially be clothing racks.  They are expected to be of a particular size and shape so that clothes will drape on them however the designer intended.  Some models are hired because their looks are interesting and striking, not necessarily because they are attractive.  If you look through high fashion shoots, you will see a lot of strong jawlines on women--just like Cass, actually.  My point is, you can't take the model industry as the end-all authority on beauty.

Anyway, Iron Bull is missing an eye (and, it looks like, a good portion of his face).  Garrus had half his face blown off.  Scars are part of the characters, including the LIs, in these games.  It's perfectly in keeping with the world of Thedas that a female character would be included in that.

How the suffering hell does a scar make someone ugly, especially when we're talking about Cassandra's cheek scar, which literally does nothing to her face other than add a line there? If Agelina Jolie suddenly had a scar on her cheek she wouldn't turn into sex-repellent, and frankly she wouldn't even really different.

Even something like hair is plausible for changing how attractive someone looks, because hair length totally changes the emphasis of one's facial structure, but scars, especially thin ones? Absurd.

Secondly I take extreme offence to your statement about feminists. I am going to assume it is being said from a stance of ignorance, and that you do not understand what it's like to be a non-privileged member of society.

Oh boy, you're one of those.

If you truly, for one second, think that men are privileged, there's no point arguing with you.

But as long as a man cannot defend himself from an assaulting woman in fear that if he hits her back to defend himself the cops/law will always take her side, there's no such thing as male privilege.

In a world where young girls are routinely sold, denied education, and thought of as 'less' than men, feminism is a necessary ideal

Then send feminism to middle east, not the Bioware forums.

Men don't have it any easier. At least female circumcision is outlawed in civilised states. Male circumcision is not.

How's that privilege?

So, if a man or a woman receives a tiny scar (let's be, like you've suggested, honest: we're not talking "missing half a nose, teeth showing through the cheek" kind of scar here) it immediately renders any kind of beauty null and void, is that it? Didn't think so.

I said scars are unattractive. Not that they make the whole package unattractive. Yes, a scar is unattractive by itself. Will a scar make you unattractive as a whole? That depends.

Also if we're talking about guys who are supposedly very attractive, someone like Jon Hamm is pretty close to legendary status and he's not baby faced at all. Or Bruce Willis back in the day, who was (as I understand it) quite popular.

How is a scar unattractive "by itself"? Do you find scars floating around in the ether killing your boner? What does this even mean?
