Nuts to the haters. Cass looks great. If I'm going to live vicariously through my PC, it will be primarily to revel in all the evil I smite. In the end, no matter which companion thinks they have my PC's heart, a piece of it will always belong to the dagger and murder-knife.
I'm fine with an even take for Straight, Gay/Lesbian and Bi. Good that characters will have their own preference and aren't all nearly Main Character-sexual like how the companions but the Non-Romances and Sebastion were all Hawke-Sexual in DA2.

I thought Cassandra looks lovely. Sure, not delicate featured, but I personally think she's a stunner, along with Vivienne. In saying that, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so I might be seeing something some guys aren't and vice versa.

Ok seriously, I don't understand why some of you are so offended by straight men thinking that some females in this game look like men. Why is this bad? And why just because you think that Cassandra looks great or attractive your opinion is more important? Get a grip.
I may want my women to look like dolls. There have been plenty of women in history that looked like that and people lusted after them. Is it wrong? Are poets and painters and sculptors that made this their work wrong and should never exist? I'm pretty sure that most of you don't even care about it much in your everyday lives. You probably are the kind of people that enjoy listening to the **** popular music of beautiful and untalented performers and have no idea about the alternatives that the world has to offer.
Lets all change what we like cause some people here are hell bend to impose their twisted sense of equality in an attempt to fix the world. I can like whatever I want and judge appearances according to my sense of aesthetics. And I have no reason to give any damn about what you all think.
And when I play this game I'm going to lick Vivienne from neck to toes and do unspeakable things to her. And if I can't do it, I'll go buy a sex doll that looks exactly like her. Thank you very much and **** you all.
Peace. Or not, don't care.

How about, because it is implying that 'women'(And men for that matter) have to be a certain way for starters.
Secondly, I daresay your perceptions of women are rather shallow and show little experience with them. The way you talk about Vivienne just shows, that you objectify females, and that way of thinking and behaviours contributes to atrocities such as childbrides.
Imposing a twisted sense of equality? Are you Serious?Yes, you are..how sad..

Its offensive to many women that people are insinuating that Cassandra looks "like a man". This is because the implication is that strong-featured women are somehow less female than women with your "doll-features". Whilst Cassandra may be a fictional character, there are many women who share her characteristics and are pleased to see a representation of themselves in media. It is unkind to insinuate by proxy that these women are less female. It would have sufficed to say that you personally were not attracted to her.
And finally, I fail to see how one's musical preference affects visual aesthetics. I listen to underground rock, metal and EBM and I visit art galleries in my spare time. It doesn't change the fact that I find a wide variety of bodies, colourings and facial types attractive. I am surprised that you think it would.

Good, focus on the irrelevant and humorous part of my post and disregard the rest. That's what people on this forum like to do it seems.
It's implying nothing. If I think that you look like a man, that means that I think that you look like a man. You are way too quick to take my behavior and compare it to the stereotypes about what men think about women and misogyny and yaddayadda. If every man in the world was choosing his female other half based on what the ultimate female should look like, then the human population would take a serious dive.
Its offensive to many women that people are insinuating that Cassandra looks "like a man".
And again, they are not insinuating nothing. They just say what they think about her. If to them she looks like their male buddy, then she can't be attractive to them. And there are multiple types of females. Some more feminine or some masculine or some more whatever. If someone thinks that Cassandra seems more like the latter, that's his opinion.
And again, feminine and masculine, they are words that describe something. Perhaps someone doesn't know what exactly that means and they are using them in the wrong context, but this doesn't change what they feel when they look at a person. After all, that's all they can do at this point. Look.

You don't fail too see anything. You just take what I say out of context cause you want to make a point. I never said that the one leads to other. I said that people are selective where matters of aesthetics, quality etc are concerned and that's what this commotion is all about. You can't be condemning because someone said that Cassandra isn't the perfect woman if you yourself are part of a machine that promotes the perfect image and tries to change our perceptions. Unless you want to be called a hypocrite.
What I am saying is "1)I want sexualized female character, and don't see problem here, I don't care if male is or not sexualized. . 2)Because it's not popular opinion, women bash me and think I hate women then it's absolutely opposite. 3)And I hate hypocrisy then man is unhappy Sera is lesbian and can't be romanced by male, just deal with it, on dragonage.com news on Cassandra go read "Maker please let her like girls..." "I hope she's f/f romance!" it's fine.
Here is the difference, Sera has been confirmed as a lesbian. Cassandra has yet to be confirmed. Up until Sera had been confirmed, I honestly didn't care about people wanting her to be straight but now that we know she is a lesbian the conversation needs to move on and guys need to stop behaving like they were entitled to have her.
I'm one of those people who would like Cass to be bi and I will continue to hope until Bioware confirms her sexuality. Once they do, if she is straight, I'll express my disappointment, decide that I'll need to roll at least one male Inquisitor and move on but the discussion can continue until we get that confirmation.

Well, there goes my ideal 1st playthrough romance. I'll probably ignore romance the first time around since my first guy will be a racist elf that hates humans and mages. So, looks like I'm doing a Sera 'bromance', which could be fun, or just be a female inquisitor. I don't really mind Sera being lesbian though since I've got no problems with playing as a male or female protagonist.
There's having an opinion and there's being a straight-up ass in expressing said opinion
Saying things like "she looks like a man" clearly qualifies you for the latter category. It's vile and I don't care what garbage you use to justify it.
There is no possible concept of androgyny in our world. To say that one sex looks like the other should condemn one to the lowest circles of hell. But well, you don't care about the garbage we use to justify it.
Then I don't care about the garbage that don't care to make an argument.
Well now you can play as a female Inquisitor and listen to her voice all the time!
Alix is doing femme inquisitor? Lady Nuggings you have just made my day.

Actually, saying in public like "Wow, she is extremely ugly, or looks like a man" is disrespectful. Yes, opinions are fine, but its how abrasive its been used. Its better to say, I don't consider her attractive in appearance. Quite shallow mind you. More to the point that since Sera was confirmed lesbian, more hate came out against Cass and Vivi, that I noticed. Without really knowing any of these characters better, but just going by small descriptions. Honestly, I am not worried about who will be available to who, cause I do play variety of ways. Some guys have yet to learn appearance isn't everything, and some get lucky to not worry about it, but these are game characters.
The thing about women looking like dolls is the concept that more often in the games, women tend to be sexualized a little more than normal. DoA is a strong contender on that imaging. If I got the title mixed up, its the one with the girls in bikini's bouncing around. This is what a lot of in game females tend to look like. Some of the appearances in some of the games have gotten slightly better than what was. This is the point of that type of argument and disagreements. When a female finally looks like some of the women I tend to see around my life in DA:I, they get bashed by men in here. This is the point of defense. Not saying your opinion is wrong, just a lot of expressions goes further than should be.
Your opinions are yours, as mine are mine, I cant and will not change yours. Its who you are, and that is also another point of arguments. Some expecting to force a change upon others. hmmm... sounds too familiar and why I avoid some people
If someone is lesbian or gay or even straight, it shouldn't be yelled about, its done. Some don't get the concept of let it be, that is where roughness/disagreements/arguments happens. Case in point, a guy told my friend that if she was in his country, she would be shot cause she doesn't like men only cause he wanted to have her one night. I'm not the only one that stopped talking to this guy anymore.
I'm not posting this to change your views, but to express why some of the heat is going on in here. I am a straight male, more often equal representation falls kinda flat. It doesn't take much homework to see the case. AC: Unity on a lack of women, blatantly saying a woman is too much work to do. When Liberation features a woman assassin itself. Black men have only had a few representations themselves, black women almost have none. It should be fair to have something for them as well. This is what most in here want, equal representation.
I don't care about the orientation of the characters, if I really want to romance them I'll just roll whatever inquisitor needed, whether that be along race or gender lines.
What I do care about though is friendship paths. I really wanted to befriend Jack with one of my FemSheps, getting cut off with "f u" because I couldn't romance her, pissed me off no end, I don't know how many times I went down to the cargo hold hoping things would change only to have the same outcome once you reach a certain point. I understand there are some limitations to how much they can squeeze in but still, disappointed
Yeah, that really bothered me too. It was the same with all the ME2 Romances - there was no real friendship path.
I hope we can form friendships in DA:I like we could with Morrigan or everyone in ME3.

Inquisitor; Sera is lesbian.

Well yeah Cassandra does have some masculine features. This doesn't mean she looks like a man though and of course people are going to be insulted if you say it does because there are plenty of women out there with features like that. Also, you are completely glossing over the fact that most of these people also said she looks ugly because of this.

Sex and Gender are different things.
Guys, guys. It's okay. He thinks Cass looks ugly, he's entitled to his opinion. That said, I don't think she is. She's just less sexualized than most females in videogames. Give her long hair, make-up and skimpy clothes and few of the people who call her mannish now will complain (please Bioware don't do that). Her features aren't delicate, but they're not that strong either.
On a side note, seeing people going all butthurt because an attractive female character dares to refuse the gift of their holy penis is funny. You can continue ![]()
