I am one of those peoples, that observe game forums rather than post on them, but all these relationship threads are simply stupid.

Why do people want sex and relations so bad in a video game?
Is it like everyone is lonely and cannot get action in real life?

You know what. I love Mass Effect because of its story, music and amazing characters.
Mass Effect 2 looks even more amazing, and I am envious of those who will be able to play it before I can.
Why do people whine whine whine about all the relations stuffs?

you could always buy a porno game.

Love interests are a natural part of what Bioware has set out to do in terms of character development combined with player choice.

The interest here comes from the fact that love interests are among the first places that playthroughs will differ from person to person. How many threads have you seen asking if someone chose Ashley or Liara or Kaidan?

Oh yeah, I'm definitely more interested in the story. It's just that as of late people have been talking about romances.

Nothing wrong with romances, they add more story at times.

But its going over the top on these forums.

Glad I'm not the only one who wouldn't give a rat's ass about romances in this game. :)

I enjoy romances but I agree with you and so would most of this board. The threads are stupid. I'm just happy ME2 is coming out tuesday.

I hope the music is just as amazing in the second game.

It has that 80s sounds that reminds me of Bladerunner.

I agree with everyone else. I don't mind LI's in the game, but by the beard of Zeus...things are crazy here!

Nope, sorry, you're just a troll.  If you don't see Mass Effect as The Sims meets Science Fiction you can't play the game and should go away.  Honestly if you knew anything about roleplaying it would be simple.  Shepard simply stops saving the galaxy and settles down to marry some female he's met.  Nevermind he's representing humanity as a Specter, a commander in the Alliance military, a captain of a starship, and a paragon/renegade example to the galaxy.  NONE of that matters when really efforts should be focused on whether you pick a human or quarian orphan to adopt while married to Tali.  Nevermind he has the unique visions of the Protheans or anything, he doesn't need to help save the galaxy.  He can just buy a condo and raise a family.  Because you're so narrow minded you should quit telling people that you think you know what Mass Effect is about and stop trolling the forums.  Oh and everyone who supports Tali/Garrus/whoever and spends 5-6 hours a day posting about them are ALL MARRIED and ask their wives they ALL support them and know they have fantasies about fictional characters.

^ My eyes bled a little from that paragraph. Seriously though, who cares?
One it's a video game not you're life. For every minute you're spending ranting about squad armors or lack thereof, about Tali, or Garrus, or a homoerotic sex scene, you could be doing SOMETHING with you're life like being active, getting laid, or if somehow incapable of living a life then go play Mass Effect duh!
Trying not to offend here, but people are either extremely stupid, or majorly negative. The board doesn't need this kind of attitude, Bioware doesn't need it, and the World doesn't need it. But most of all you're Commander Shepard doesn't need your negativity, so let Shepard do what Shepard does best; kick some serious ass, and score with anyone/thing Shepard can.
It's 3AM in BC and I'm going to sleep, wake up, live a little, then let my Shep kick ass. Gooodnight

Bioware took aboard criticism from the community and changed Mass Effect 2 accordingly, but without ballsing it up entirely. The fear of ME3 becoming a Relationship-Simulator is irrational, but humorous.

There is a strange obsession with romance on these forums, though, and I have no doubt it irritates Bioware employees no end. Chris Priestly, wherever he may be, has said several times he loathes these threads.

Meh, not that worried about it. My interest in the LI's only extends to having at least one or two interesting ones. After that, I don't care.

I do agree it's over the top sometimes.

But there's nothing like romance as a topic to obsess people. For the most part I think it's perfectly healthy.

Well I guess BioWare has achieved their goal of making ME2 seem SO much like a "pew pew" FPS that people forgot that it's an RPG.

Romances have been part of RPGs since the dawn of the RPG.

And they call them romance OPTIONS for a reason, don't like them? OK don't romance any characters, won't hurt my feelings.

Now stop wasting space and resources both in real life and on these forums.

I must have missed that section of the original D&D set.
