For those of us that loved multiplayer from Mass Effect and have been waiting, could you please announce wether or not there will be multiplayer. After no news at E3, I know many of us are thinking there won't be any, but if thats the case, please put out an official announcement saying their won't be multiplayer. The silence is killing a lot of us.
Please announce either way

Mike Laidlaw is the leader of a team of Bioware trolls. They sit in their HQ and laugh at us while we wonder and agonize over who and what might be in the game.

Multiplayer was super fun in ME3, and quite possibly the part of the game a player could end up playing the longest (honestly I'm not sure whether I played the single player or multi player parts more, I played a ton of both) . It wouldn't make any sense for there not to be any MP in DAI, maybe they're waiting to announce it because the types of opponents we'll be fighting are character types that haven't been revealed yet, who knows. Obviously MP is super fun, and not only separately but, like in ME3, it can even add to the overall experience of the single player campaign in it's own way. It would be quite the shame if there wasn't some type of MP in DAI.

as a major patch its a possibility but at the same time they gotta figure out how the MP would work especially if it was similar to ME3 or another game example Two Worlds 2 seperate story thing, though for all we know its being kept a secret till its worked out its good for doing what they call a late market announcement.

They probably won't because it would impact on sales.

As long as they don't force people who just want to play SP into playing MP in order to get a better SP experience/ending

They are working on both a PvP and a co-op mode. One of them, however, isn't coming along as well as they'd like, and they're considering cutting it.
In that circumstance, it behooves them not to announce anything. If they announce both, and then cut one, that would obviously be bad. But if they announce the one they know they'll have, players who want the other will think it isn't there.
They cannot announce anything until they know what to announce.

People actually like ME3 multiplayer? I only played it to get my Galactic Readiness up at the end of the campaign. I thought it was a complete waste of time and detracted from an otherwise great single player game. Multiplayer would make absolutely no sense unless they did it something like watchdogs or fable 3 does. I don't like those either.

I would like MP somewhat like ME3, but without the micro transitions. Even though I guess those did pay for the extra DLC that multiplayer got...ugh...darned if you do, darned if you don't. I wouldn't be upset if there was no multiplayer either though. Single player is far more important to me. ![]()

Here's hoping its the last announcement made, cause thats what we're down to more or less. I'm being pessimistic, and I'm staring to lose hope, but on the other hand, the fact that they haven't announced that they've gone gold(which means they've sent the final version of the game off to the manufactures) and the fact that they haven't denied it are still good signs.
As for what it would be like, not having a single player tie in, except maybe unlocking certain things in mp cause you did certain things in the sp campain, would be good. Micro transactions don't bother me, but make it so if you save up your gold you can pay to get exactly what you want, it would be a lot cheaper if you got it out of a random pack but at least you have that option, or they could even go the route of crafting, you get your base weapons and such that you can pick up as loot or grab out of packs, and other packs are full of crafting gear so you can build up your gear how you want. As for style, I wouldn't really get into pvp, but it wouldn't bother me, I want to play dragon age with people more than against people, and It could either be almost just like mass effects, or maybe you can get locked to one region, do quests and just venture about in that area.
As for Harkness, PEOPLE ARE STILL PLAYING MP in mass effect, lol. Its incredible. I'm a person that focuses on sp first, and after the demos the day it came out, I played mp first, first game I ever did that on.

I'm generally not a big fan of multiplayer. If they did something like the original NWN, then I'd be game ... otherwise, I'd rather that they devote those resources to improving the main game.
Not that my opinion matters for anything hehe.

It is interesting to see in the market how many companies seems to think multiplayer is essential to the success of a game. I remember being quite surprised that the in my opinion great reboot of Tomb Raider had it, and compared to the single player campaign, that MP was really just unnecessary filler. On the other hand I was one of those, who were pleasently surprised by the MP in Mass Effect 3. I actually spend way more time in that than I ever did in the single player campaign, which I found to have too many repetitive fetch-like quests between the really good main story missions. Goes to show it can be great if done right, I do agree with the generel sentiment that any multiplayer component should be completely seperate from the single player campaign, that was a huge mistake for Mass Effect 3 even if we're talking an effect that small.

I LOVED MP in Mass Effect 3. First game that I actually got into MP to be frank. It was a lot of fun. I also was hoping for a ME3 MP like component in DAI. I really thought there would be news about this from E3. Still hopeful.

I know this may come as some sort of shock, but, yes, actually quite a lot of people ended up liking the ME3 multiplayer.
And a lot of those people were single-player only fans who gave it a try and, lo and behold, discovered they actually enjoyed BOTH forms of play.
Crazy, what some people ending up liking, eh?
(By the way, I'm STILL playing ME3MP roughly once a week. And ended up getting it on three separate platforms because I enjoyed it so much and wanted to play with different groups of people. I cannot say I have ever bought any other single game on PC, PS3, AND XBox 360 before... ever.)

Same happened to me when asking whether there will be dual wielding swords. The things that should be answered with "no" are getting ignored, with hope that people would not guess themselves what is going on. So, basically you can rule out MP with 100% certainty.

Developers should never be forced to answer any question before they are ready to do so. It doesn't matter if some think it is an easy answer to give. You can almost always come up with a question with a yes and no answer to get all the details about a game before developers are even ready to talk about it. I think too many gamers have little to no idea how development works and think that everything is set in stone whenever they ask their "important" question. I am glad Bioware choose not to answer your question about dual wielding swords because it has always come off as a demand and demands shouldn't be rewarded. You don't lose anything if you only get the answer you seek at release day. You can always buy a game later or decide not to buy it once you do have an answer.
