If there was no Multiplayer component in the works, I have a feeling an answer would have come out by now. They may still be refining and developing the multiplayer concept, it may even be something they release after the game itself, like Grand Theft Auto: Online. It's probably at the point where if it doesn't come together, it will still be cut, but it's showing enough early promise.

Personally regarding to someones post earlier yes alot of gamers do not know how developement works i should know as im studying and researching the entire complex and this is on the easier to use engines, its immensely time consuming with a minor fault that can ruin the game itself so it will take time this effect quadtruples within the aspect of multiplayer but this doesnt rule out that its impossible as they can just release it later on when they have less pressure on there heads with the base game itself like we dont want them releasing a MP with a saving feature that doesnt work like we have in two worlds 2 alot or having it screwed over by saying when things come and in turn come out alot later due to screw ups such as with GTA online.

I wonder if it might be marketed as a DLC? Want to try MP DAI? Well, get the DLC pack...That way all the purists won't get all constipated about MP being part of the main game, and the people who enjoy it go get it. I will say that if you did not like MP at all, you were sort of forced into it with ME3, if not just for a small piece.

There very well could be MP similar to ME3.

Think about it. In ME3 you used it to gather galactic awarness and if I remember some currency for whatever.

If what I've read about DA:I is true, you end up building an army and yadda yadda yadda.... well what if instead of being a member of your starfleet, your MP character is a member of your Army and you're sent out, like a general, with other players to do whatever mission is given to you.

This could yield moral bonuses and currency for your single player army.

This also increases gameplay, which would be optional. You wouldn't HAVE to do it, or keep playing it. But to me it would feel something like Guantlet Legends, but it would give benefits to your single player game if played.

This also would give BioWare a whole new form of revenue as they could continue to make expansions for both single and multiplayer.

(I appologize if this was spotty... still working on my coffee!! :P )

I hope we get an announcement one way or the other as well. I love co-op MP and would like to see it in DA:I, but I won't be totally devastated if it ends up not being in the final product; the game looks awesome either way.

Anyway, I have dug up some old posts of mine from some earlier topics, about the subject of MP; so far BioWare's stance has essentially been "We can neither confirm or deny the existence of MP in DA:I"

Plenty of info on her channel, i recommend taking a look.

They can't talk about MP. They can't talk about MP. They can't talk about MP....... Not a "NO", but a "Cant talk about it."

My hope for a co-op mode in DA:I is still alive.

its somewhere in that video.

At 5:30 the question is asked if the the game is a single player adventure. The answer is Yes.

Technically though, they were talking about the main adventure, not that DA:I would have no MP. Period.  :P

Me Too. Really until ME3 MP I always shied away from MP games. I literally played ME3 MP for months and months after I finished the main game (Multiple times) After that experience, I now have a different perspective on MP. I have journeyed into the Realms of BF4 and now Dark Souls 2. It is just so much fun playing with and or against people.

Developers should never be forced to answer any question before they are ready to do so. It doesn't matter if some think it is an easy answer to give. You can almost always come up with a question with a yes and no answer to get all the details about a game before developers are even ready to talk about it. I think too many gamers have little to no idea how development works and think that everything is set in stone whenever they ask their "important" question. I am glad Bioware choose not to answer your question about dual wielding swords because it has always come off as a demand and demands shouldn't be rewarded. You don't lose anything if you only get the answer you seek at release day. You can always buy a game later or decide not to buy it once you do have an answer.

But this is fecking simple question. Imagine if ME team got asked if there are snipers in the game. I bet you that if you go ask them now they will tell you right away, even with the fact that their game is releasing no sooner than holiday 2015, or more likely late 2016. It is just stupid to be afraid to say no and hide like pssy. I guess many of the bioware staff would answer me if i ask them, but their bosses meet the criteria i mentioned in my last sentence.

This would make me cancel my pre-order. MP is fine, if it's not connected to the main game. I'm not adverse to MP, I have 5 MMOs installed on this PC right now. However, in the early days of ME 3, if you didn't do MP, you couldn't get the "good" ending, at all, there wasn't enough stuff in the main game to give you the points you needed. Several DLC in, and I can skip stuff if I choose now, but back then, not so much. When I feel the need to game with others, I play my MMOs, that's that they're for. Back in the day, I played NWN online, a lot. However, short of having a friend in for a campaign run, it was totally unrelated to the main game. This is how a MP component should be, an add on, not something that comes off as mandatory if you want to get the "best" endings.

They are too dumb to understand that telling someone no NOW - probably wont drive them away from the game. Telling people no LATER, people would feel like fools who were played around like money toys and then you will see the true horror when counting sales. Just wait and see, cause i am pretty sure they will keep up with ignoring attitude.

Why would they confirm or deny at the stage when they are now into cutting to make things seamless?

In my opinion, mp and single player should mostly be kept seperate, I don't mind games that are traditionally sp that pick up mp, obviously with my love of ME3 mp, but they should remain separate, Its like when halo started building maps off of portions of the campaign *shudders* that for me just didn't work, the quality of their maps just dropped cause something thats interesting as a sp space isn't as fun in mp.

Same!!! I was so hesitent, as I don't like non-coop multiplayer, but the atmosphere was better than L4D in my opinion

Mike Laidlaw is the leader of a team of Bioware trolls. They sit in their HQ and laugh at us while we wonder and agonize over who and what might be in the game.

It's a conspiracy!

Imagine this scenario:

They are working on both a PvP and a co-op mode. One of them, however, isn't coming along as well as they'd like, and they're considering cutting it.

In that circumstance, it behooves them not to announce anything. If they announce both, and then cut one, that would obviously be bad. But if they announce the one they know they'll have, players who want the other will think it isn't there.

They cannot announce anything until they know what to announce.

Man I want some PvP... with bots.  Offline.

I assume that they're delaying announcing multiplayer to a avoid a repeat of the Mass effect 3 "There will not be any content locked off in the singleplayer campaign for those who don't play multiplayer" *Game launches* "Oh wait" situations

That and if I recall correctly, EA said a while ago that they wont be releasing any games without some form of multiplayer.

Even though this is probably true for a number of people, it is probably so small of a number that it is irrelevant in the end.  This game is going to sell like hot cakes not only to long time Dragon Age fans, but Mass Effect fans, Skyrim fans, D&D fans, etc.  A small number of people who decide not to buy the game cause they find out there is no multiplayer at the last minute won't make a difference.

I might be wrong, but I think before most of these professional interviews, the developers mention topics that they aren't allowed to talk about so they're not put on the spot when filming.
