I assume that they're delaying announcing multiplayer to a avoid a repeat of the Mass effect 3 "There will not be any content locked off in the singleplayer campaign for those who don't play multiplayer" *Game launches* "Oh wait" situations

That and if I recall correctly, EA said a while ago that they wont be releasing any games without some form of multiplayer.

No, I believe the general context was "without an online component". Which is met with the Keep. I have no problem with MP that has no affect on the SP campaign. My deal breaker will be MP adding resources to the Thedas at war map as it does for the Galaxy at war map in ME 3. If they're going to do that, then they may as well not add it, as far as I'm concerned. I am not the twitch gamer I was 30 years ago, and I don't want my SP Campaign suffering because of that.

I'm expecting some kind of MP after the huge success of ME3 MP. Its just business, no online component or the Keep is going to be monetized like ME3 MP was with microtransactions. I think at this point, it all depends on if the devs can make a game mode as entertaining and successful as ME3 MP was. If they can, then DAI MP is damn near guaranteed.

I prefer sp games to mp games as a rule but agree that mass effect 3 mp was awesome. 1 way they could maybe tie the mp to the game without affecting the actual story would be through the agents you recruit based at your keep, it has been said that you can send your agents out on quests to gather resources or intellegence etc.

These quests supposedly play out behind the scenes during the inquisitors story, this could give you the option to play as the agents and aquire the same loot in the mp as the agents would automatically get you if it happened behind the scenes in your single player campaign.

An example would be sending agents on a quest for metal, in the sp game you receive 5 pieces when your agents quest is completed, playing this quest out in mp would also give you 5 pieces of metal. This could give the player more freedom over what mp quests they wish to take on and hardcore sp gamers wouldn't feel left out as they would still get the same rewards without having to play those missions. This would mean the mp does impact on the story for players who want it to and those who don't can ignore it. They could also use this feature to include npc's such as cullen as a pc or at least a member of your party.
