QFT :P

Kidding, I actually buy my games because I respect BioWare and like to think that my $65 goes into some of the pixels on a cool character in their next game.

Oh yeah can you do your taxes on a 360? Can you write a term paper on a PS3?

Now who's foolish?

If you want to get into it, then yes actually, you can write a term paper on the PS3. Hook up a keyboard and use some homebrew.

Regardless, it's assumed that every home has a personal computer, and modern consoles are made to interface with your home network seamlessly. We use our PS3 as a media server, while our 360 is used for gaming, and our PCs are for shopping and bill payments. I play some games on the PC, but I generally prefer my 360.

comapare to the pc? dont make me laugh i knew people who did that (for 360) and it was nothing compare to the ones for pc and i am sure u must be a pc owner for mass effect 2, but i hope u dont get too defensive about it cause its the truth, pc its the worst system to make a game because of the pirating otherwise it would have been the best, (sorry for all of u pc game fans out there but its just that those pc pirates making the pc look like a bad place to make games)

I just hate pirates, but i hope bioware learns that it was a mistake to make it for pc.

Yo PC, I'll let you finish in just a moment but....Xbox 360 has the best anti-priating software

What level of "hell" is for internet pirates?

The same one as child molestors and people who talk at the theater.

Bah damn... someone beat me to it back on page 3... well played sir.

As someone past age 18 or even age 25, paying for game and even buying new PC just for ME2 is no problem. I haven't thought about pirating anything since my college days way back in the day! Those that do are (warning: stereotype imminent) young and immature. But getting all p***ed off about those that do will only lead Bioware and EA back to the SecuRom approach, which most people, myself included, hated with the passion of a thousand suns.

So be careful about whining too loudly about those that have no appreciation for BW's hard work and are those that are working 10 times as hard to avoid getting a job to simply buy it. It may lead EA back to a place most of us don't want to go...

There's both xbox and pc streaming right now, but the xbox version is someone whose local gamestop broke the release date. They'll be hunted down, sued and fined huge amounts of money, they take pirating very seriously

People who do not pay are heretics to the Bioware faith and will be punished accordingly

The biggest problem I think is that pirates get the game earlier. I think that might drive many people to pirate the game that would otherwise buy it.

There is a solution to this, but many people wouldn't like it, especially brick and mortar stores.

Release the digital versions first. Ship out the game to retailers just 1 or 2 days before it's released on the internet, so that stores will have it only a few days after, but there won't be retailers breaking street dates or employees taking home a copy to upload.

I see your point I know a few of EA's games have been released like that

3 Xbox 360s, and not a single one of them have died on me. My original launch 360 is still running, but I upgraded to elites last year. It's currently on loan to our friend who hasn't had an issue with it, either. Funny, that.

my brother said one of his friends on STEAM just torrented the damn game.
Someone obviously leaked it over the internet like a tester or a hacker.

na most of the time its a store employee to upload them to those torrent sites from there its like a virus that spreads from torrent to torrent

Oh noes, people are pirating this game???

Really, every game made will be pirated as long it's on a system with failsafe copy protection.

And Mass Effect 2 is one of the most sought after games, it's only natural.

Bioware is allready making the best they can do to reduce piracy:

No evil DRM (is a reason/excuse for pirating)

Additional Content for people who register their games.

And most importantly what i read somewhere, the preorders for ME2 were doing well.

I might have understanded if they at that moment didnt had or could make any kind of money but no they seem to enjoy it and dont care, according to the way they were saying it, its like "fu-- bioware we are getting it free"

so my real question is WHY did they make this game for pc? they CERTINELY dont deserve it at all! look what they doing now, mass producing that game for free, this guy said there is already 1700 people downloading tha torrent file thats a lot of money if u multiply that by 50.

because they still care about something other than money and only idiots make console only games

Well not always most of the time if you have a console only game the company cant meet the deadline to code a game into a consoles script or the console manufacturer pays them to build up the consoles game base thus making more ppl going out to buy their consoles

Pirates gonna pirate.

In the end it doesn't matter how many ppl pirate the game, but how many will *buy* it.

I will be (or am as I already pre-ordered it) one of them...can't wait to play it on my PC on the 29th.

I'm not even reading the rest of the topic, and screw mature behaviour.
You're just a ****ing arrogant son of a ****, seriously. So because there are pirates, we pc gamers shouldn't get a pc version of ME2?! I for one spend over 2000 euro on my desktop alone, not talking external hard drives and laptop here. Do you REALLY think I want to buy a console and a television to play games on when I have this pc?
Do you really think I want to give up on mods, dedicated servers, community and whatnot that comes with pc gaming?
You have no ****ing idea what you're talking about, seriously, no ****ing clue.
You're just another freaking console fanboy.

And don't bother replying, I'm not even gonna bother with this topic or you any longer.
And for the record, I'm getting my ME2 legally on friday, FOR PC!

Quite a few people have had the red ring of death, myself and a friend included.  But, regardless of that, as a long time PC gamer (jees...probably 20 years), I have to say that the PC gaming experience has always been more fullfilling to me...especially with companies like Bioware (who used to be PC only) and Creative Assembly releasing more mature and compelling games than what normally get made on consoles.  I think consoles have a place and love the more communal gaming aspects they have brought to the table, but a quality shooter, or RPG is best enjoyed (to me) on my PC.  Better graphics, more horsepower, more customizability.  PC gaming will always have a place.  I have actually moved away from gaming on my Xbox and now focus mainly on my PC these days, anyway.

The thing about piracy that these a**holes don't realize is that it affects everyone else. Why do games cost what they do? Well, pirating doesn't answer that entirely but if it didn't exist, we would probably be paying less for games. Developers wouldn't have to devote so much time to copy protection, CD keys, Securerom, activation, etc.

It's a viscous circle and the thieves don't care. Not to mention the fact that all the creative people who devoted years to the game development are getting the shaft when you don't buy the game. It may mean they won't be able to continue.
