It isn't immoral for a CEO to make money off of the music if he's actually got something to do with its production and distribution. Record companies provide --or used to provide -- all kinds of support. Marketing, advances to tide you over while making the next recording, distribution, manufacturing...
Nowadays you can do away with a lot of that, and many bands do. But nobody was ever
forced to join a label.
Bands wanted the services of a label, and freely contracted for them.
"Intellectual property kills" is awfully lazy. Not having IP kills too.
You haven't proven as much as you think you have. Not all piracy is theft. But some is.
