Yeah, Rockstar did a good job of making John actually sympathetic while still not being an entirely good person all the time. Would have liked it if they made the same true of at least one of GTA V's characters.

Well, it's not like a character needs to be sympathetic in order to be likeable. They just needed 'something' to make them stand our, or make them interesting to play. They tried making Trevor funny as he'd joke about someone's mother while he was mowing people down like a-moral psychotic. Brick-Top was funny in Snatch, Trevor isn't. It just doesn't work and as a protagonist there isn't much that allows him to connect to the player. 

 

I do agree -- John's traits of being somewhat occasional passive aggressive towards fools that would approach him, and his strive to live a normal life was well done. It's what made him interesting.

LMAO -- Why will you never learn Rockstar? Even L.A. Noire had this problem and that game was made by Bondi. The characters basically controlled like reversing a golf cart through a hedge maze

Except those morals were hard to take seriously for me. But that counts for any GTA protagonist. Ultimately, it's greed that drives them all, whereas John is driven by a desire for a normal life. That actually sat right with me.

An odd choice: Tony Hawk's American Wasteland -> it was my favorite of the series and the franchise in general has been dead for too long.

 

Another personal choice would be Muppet Race Mania, not the best kart clone but full of muppet goodness

 

Clock Tower - I missed it when it first came out but have heard so many positve revews I want to play it

I wonder what that Activision manager, - who for personal malice, went to such lengths to destroy Troika and sabotage this game, and seemed for a while to succeed (only 70,000 copies sold), - is thinking today? When he sees how much accolade and embrace this game, the best ever of its period of any period, is still generating after all these years?

 

It's a PC game though, so not directly included in the thread's question.

But it could possibly be made for the new generation of consoles!

I hope someone takes off on that idea, and that the game survives the remake without becoming DA2-consolish-ified by a bunch of idiots bent on making the game "more fun".

And release a PC-remake too!

We already had the PS3 release of Shadow of the Colossus and ICO, but since TLG doesn't seem to go anywhere why not just re-remaster those two?

 

Also I'd love a remastered Eternal Darkness coming to all current platforms.

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night - I obviously want to keep the 2D graphics but I want everything redrawn so that it looks good on a large TV screen ( instead of pixelated ) and it runs at 60 fps's in full 1080p.

Metal Gear Solid - completely rebuilt graphics. Imagine MGS on Ground Zeroes/Phantom Pains Fox engine.

I would also settle for the Mass Effect trilogy although I want full remakes for all games, not crappy HD ports. Fix ME1 shitty engine, update all the character models, tweak the combat, fix planet exploration and fix the god damn inventory. With ME2 fix the crappy linear shooting gallery levels and the lack of squad mate interaction. ME3 fix the shitty writing and the poor pay off for how our decisions were handled during the trilogy.

Fable 1 - 3. Rebuild everything from the ground up and make it better.

With Kotor 1 and Kotor 2, They should have more of a balanced flavor to them. Keep the Old content that we know and love and adding more content and more choices. I do know that Admiral Saul's voice actor died awhile back due to he is being the same voice actor for Zaed.

Not remotely last gen, but a new version of Arcanum, with prettier graphics and an improved combat system would be rad.

 

Also an old favourite of mine that was so damn good at the time it wouldn't need much anything except improved visuals and sound to compete today: Master of Magic

@Para-Soul: I believe Skyrim modders are making a revamping of Morrowind.

VTM:B - not the game itself, just the gameplay, animations and visuals. DON'T TOUCH THE REST YA BASTADS! xD

Yeah, a lot of my reasoning for that was the animation issues. The Boxiness of the Skyscapes in Downtown L.A. could be fixed, weird stuff like the Ending story arc for Jeanette could be sutured up.

And maybe get rid of the sewers. XD
