Watch the video

Casey hudson is right, i did bond with my character and i do remember my shepard.

What do we want?  A studio who actually listens. (Yes they listened to much and acted on lots)

Be interesting to see what this new IP is that they are working on!

I'll give bioware another chance.  Lets hope they don't screw up the next several games.

Why does Mass Effect 4 need to be called Mass Effect?

Because the mass effect is the result of running a positive or negative electrical current through Element Zero allowing us to increase or decrease the mass of an object!  So unless they've stopped using Element Zero all together it still needs to be called mass Effect!

Watch despite the fact that this thread wasn't designed to be derogative they'll close and lock it within an hour or less :P

From that cinematic alone I fear that in order to distance themselves from the events of the Mass Effect trilogy they'll make the new character in a far away section of the universe and start again with more or less new races. I really hope they include some of the existing races though.

I'll also be interested to see how this new planet exploration fits in. I imagine it'll hard to make a lot of detailed planets that can be explored while creating a vast pocket of the universe for ME4 to be set in. So on one hand it could be generic like the planet exploration in ME1, or the other hand the planets could be so detailed that we only get a couple of them to explore. Personally I hope they hit a sweet spot in the middle.

Also considering the amount of fan feedback regarding things in the trilogy such as the ending or Tali's face, I'd hope the lessons learnt there will carry over into ME4.

I´ll hope for an open beta. And that they are listining to people regarding the multiplayer.

It would be a great motivation for people to pick up ME3 again if the multiplayer progress would be carried over in some way to ME4. Of course it wouldn´t be an option to start out with a maxed armory but there should be some form of idea to handle this.

Come on, it's not interesting that way. But it should be an option for those who want that kind of thing, yes. I think it would be better if your previous desicions and your skill-set (level also) would decide if you live or die rather than just a programmed cutscene or choices such as action/inaction or paragon/renegade. For example how would it be awesome if Shepard could just die in the middle of playthough? Like, you sabotage the Genophage Cure and then Wrex kills you if you don't kill him first. What I hate in Mass Effect series is that sometimes your squadmates or other npc that happen to be near you often make a decision for you if you refuse to make one. I wonder what outcome would be if your squadmates didn't do anything when you confronted Ash/Kaidan and couldn't persuade her/him and decided not to shoot her/him. Sometimes I hate that if you're paragon - everybody lives and if you're renegade people die. It should be more complicated.

I think one really great option Bioware has of redeeming ME3 would be to just throw out the whole idea that it was the end of the trilogy, and have the next game carry on where it left off.

Start the game like Metal Ger Solid 2 - an opening piece focused on retconning the ME3 ending with some action and continuity, then fast forward to the main body of the game which takes place elsewhere and elsewhen.
