During the E3 i discussed with one of my friends about DAI and references and i felt inclined to share about them on this forum.

I think that when there is a big open World game and where choices has a impact it is importent that choices are taken into account, not just for the World itself but to certain characters. But most importently is that NPC or old party members from the previous games actually share with that experience and are affected by that, and they share that experience when you engage them in conversations. for example:

Leliana who was my wardens LI is in the inquisition should at least talk about the warden say 2-3 times in different conversations, but not more than that otherwise it would be to much.

My Point is that when you talk to NPC or old party memebers, is that when they talk about the warden, hawke, or choices that they made in the past, it shouldnt be neglected like it was in DA2 but it shouldnt be to many either otherwise it is tedious.

You have to find a balance in Importence, how many times they are mentioned and romanceble characters from the previous games are in fact affected.

Share thoughts plz :)

There's so many possible variations how would they write it all?

I don't think it was neglected in DA@, just that the DAO characters didn't have a big enough role to really share much. Leliana's dialogue for example changes if you romanced her or you became the King/Queen for example, Alistair refers to being married to the Warden, and Zevran was bugged so he's excused.

Our friend got a good point up there, but it's really hard to consent what's possible to do and what is viable to do, I don't know if you get my point, but I'm trying to analyze both sides of the coin, because any "add" have a cost, not just in terms of money, but in terms of hard work, it would be nice if something like a "reminder conversation" of DA2 happened, but how much would it change the game if compared to the efforts necessary to implement such thing?

Just as when Hawke spoke to Cullen in DA2, he made a reference to the mage/Amell HoF.  It wasn't going into specifics but it gave a continuity to the series.  It doesn't have to be huge; it doesn't even have to be every 2nd scene or 2nd word... that would be overkill.

I do agree with this though. If Liliana is going to be part of the Inquisition and around enough that you are interacting with her a lot I would hope she will reference a romanced Warden from time to time. Hell even maybe give us a hint as to where the heck they got off to. She dose not need to give us a full rundown of their relationship but something substantial would be nice.

yes NPC that you only meet one time in DAi might only say one thing about the warden or hawke and then nothing more.

but when you have lelianna, morrigan and varric in the party they might have more to say about the previous characters.

To be fair, only Varric is in the party and he is a notorious liar and exaggerator. All he really needs to know is Hawke's gender and class (and even class is something he might not really care about) to talk at length about what Hawke did. Heck he could even change what he says about Hawke's action as the game goes on just to mess with everyone always wanting to know, "What was Hawke like??" (and given what little impact Hawke really had at the end this wouldn't be that big a deal.. I mean DA2 is in many ways an interactive novel almost, just bridging DA:O and DA:I)

And it may be a cop out but Lelianna and Morrigan could just say they don't want to talk about the Warden beyond basic info like race, class, and gender. They could just say, "It's too personal and none of the Inquisitor's business."

I hope they have all our choices from the other games matter and get talked about. That if a character from the former games shows up we get to hear a story about what Hawke or the Warden did that one time and it's unique to our plays. I hope my Morrigan talks about her romance with the Warden and their kid, but if she doesn't, I'd understand, both as a player and as the Inquisitor. I'm would rather have the world reflect the state my Warden and Hawke left it in (who is the king/queen of Fereldan, who's king of the Dwarfs, and such) than hearing Leli, Varric, and Morrigan have little quips about the characters. I'd love to have them, but I'd get it if they didn't.

Bare in mind that people don't spend all of their free time talking about specific people, so I don't really care if NPCs don't spend all of their screen time harping on about characters from previous games. Sure, mention stuff if the Inquisitor can ask, but I hope they don't attempt to shove in things regarding previous choices in an attempt to make it seem like those things mattered. Not every little thing Hawke or The Warden did is going to have an effect on how things play out for the Inquisitor.
