Hi,
DA:O had several notable examples where dialogue and persuasion could dramatically alter the story without combat. The Elves vs. Warewolves storyline comes to mind, as well as other instances where alliances can be forged and broken without a fight (Warden's Keep DLC with the mage who researched blood magic).
DA2 was 99% devout of such options.
Will we see many examples of non-combat dialgue alternatives in DA:I? Thanks,
