It's one of the more annoying challenges.. but I have gotten better at identifying and executing grabs bc of it.

Same here. Nowadays I do this as quickly as possible: Batarian soldier vs geth on Giant Bronze.

I only do the first three waves (since there'll be ungrabbable crap like Pyros and Bombers in later waves) until I get the 25 melee kill alert, then bleed out, rinse and repeat. Goes pretty quickly that way. But I still dislike this challenge very much.

I no longer grind challenges. I just mix up things and challenges complete themselves now-a-days. As for grabs, it is a bit annoying challenge but they just happen over the course of time - I get ~10 grabs in 5-6 games I play in one sitting. That's good enough for me.

Then again, no challenge is as terrible as the Talon Merc Waves Completed for me.

It's the Melee challenge that is a pain for me. I don't really grind anymore I just let things happen naturally.

I was not very balanced when I started playing. So I was way behind on stuff I did'nt like or what to do.  I hated grinding through some of the shotguns and pistols

I'm going t say the same thing I always say when this topic comes up:

Get grabs the proper way goddammit, farming is for pansies :P

Seriously though, it's waaay more fun that way and it might even help you improve as a player :)

B00g13man is right that you should not torture yourself to do challenges. Don't so anything to diminish the fun of the game. At the same time, sometimes the challenges inspire one to learn to use a kit or weapon that one ordinarily would not use. But fun >> all else, right?

Changing gear: much harder than completing the grab challenge is making sure that your teammates do not.

Stagger powers are excellent, if well timed, to make the potential grabee step back from cover just before your teammate manages the grab. Hitscan stagger powers are best, failing which gunfire will often work well.

Stay near any likely grab cover to make sure that you can identify a grab attempt before it happens. This will give you loads of time to plan the stagger.

Thanks to all the teammates who have taught me their anti-grab techniques, especially when I was first going for the grab challenges.

I'm one of the people who completed the challenge unintentionally. Was mid game, grabbed a mook, got the challenge completed notification, lol'd.

Grinding for anything in this game garners hatred.

Just let them happen and I guarantee you'll develop a healthy appetite for them without trying.

Same. On PC. On ecks bawks, I am still far from it. First I need to learn how to survive.

Try practicing in real life, find a nice wall and try and grab someone over it, you'll be surprised how easy it will seem in game from then onwards...

i love doing grabs. I always look for the opportunity. In the middle of an objective? Grab time! 10 s from extraction? Grab time! Is it a phantom or a nemesis? Grab time, we ll see!
I tend to have my grabs more or less matching my melee challenge, otherwise i ll farm like oniganon showed for completing it.

I am a turian with aviator goggles and a cigar. I think that more than proves that grab kills are spectacularly badass.

I've done games where I got over 100 grabs. I should post a video someday...

Occasionally I've been at the point where all I need is 100 grabs or so to finish combat mastery. And sometimes I get impatient, so I put on a semi-tanky character and do a Bronze Cerberus Vancouver solo.

Cerberus has the most grabable enemies - especially if you bring someone with lash or pull to get rid of the guardian's shields. Then you just head over to the double fence thing between the landing zone and the sniper nest and wait. Then you just run back and forth between those and grab everything.

Sure, when Nemesis start showing up you have to chase them around till they get somewhere good, and yeah, you have to shoot the dragoons/phantoms/atlas, but other than that? Just grab 'em.

Solo Giant/Cerb/Silver. Bring a tank and camp the upper control room on the far side. Take cover and move back and forth between tables, clearing wave after wave with nothing but grabs. Let yourself bleed a out after wave 6 or 7 or so. Rinse and repeat.
