Well, I'm beginning a Mass Effect tabletop rpg with two friends, and would like some input from you guys.
The timeline is 3 years prior to ME1. Both characters are human, brothers, even, from earth. One is an Adept, and the other an "n6" infiltrator. Neither actually graduated from their schools.
They are Orphans on a mega-city who survived by being adopted by a Gangster, who see promise in them. And in time, he sends them to schools to hone their special skills to later use to benefit the gang.
This benefit is very important to the gang leader, Ali B, who is aiming to steal a map with the location of a Prothean cache. This map is in possession of a Institute, named Adelpha, based on the frontier of the Traverse. This Institute is secretly being backed by the Alliance and the council to take territory from pirates and tyrants.
My idea for the game is this: the brothers decide to steal the map from their boss, because they feel real bad things would happen if he actually enters the Prothean Bunker. Ideally they enter the bunker, and there one of them receive a light form of the cypher to understand the Prothean language from an VI.
One side-effect of the cypher is that the brother has that touch ability from the protheans. (this was a way I could convince one of my friends to play a sci-fi game, because he only likes magic, and being a biotic is not enough...)
And the prothean VI, despite being damaged, is a precious reward: He has a galactic map from the time of the Prothean empire.
So the game initially would be the brothers being chased by the Institute and their former boss.
Any thoughts?
P. S.: Sorry for my english.
