I used to skip Carnage, but I tried a 56663 build today, and holy cow, the instant FEs are glorious

But why are people saying his passives are bad? +25% weapon damage is pretty standard on many characters, right?

Also, if I detonate my Inferno Grenades with a Carnage, does this end the DoT effect of the Inferno Nade?

It's the power damage boost that's notably poor about krogan passives.

I think the dot continues for it's normal duration, but you can't stack more incendiary cheese on top.

I might be wrong about that though.

I dislike spawn nuking even though I do it every now and then. But yeah, nuking a filet'd spawn is just silly.

This is pretty much how I play him too lol. Not exactly the most exciting, but it is pretty glorious roasting all those little bastards.

It's much more effective with Reapers and Collectors. It's a bit harder with Cerberus depending on the Wave and what the enemy spawn consists of.

He is the fire monster. Incen ammo carnage and grenades - everything burns . While the mooks are burning/panicking  give them a back hand and put them out of their misery

Weapon damage boosts are best when you can stack them from multiple sources and all the krogans lack those.

Like others have said, their power damage bonuses suck.

And their starting encumbrance bonus is already pretty good.

So on the kroldier and krentinel a 6/6/6/0/6 build works great. It's not quite the same for the other krokits for a variety of reasons, but still works pretty well.

25% weapon damage is easy to replace.. and certainly not worth 1/4 of your build points.

Put your purses down and hit stuff!

Max out health for rage mode, since you get the regen.

Set up for purge and melee damage bonus

NO carnage

Use a Crusader with the blade (of course)

Melee amp (now you have a reason to use them besides the puggernaut)

Dis or inc whichever.

Shield power cells (I'm sure you have lots of them also) this helps bring your already good amount of shields back up quicker.

Strong hold package, to help with shield regen and give you a little extra.

Learn to hit at a run, which can be tricky sometimes.

Purge at the begining of the round and by the time the bonus is over you should have your 2 kills, go for some mooks to get them quick. REMEMBER TO TURN IT BACK ON!

The health regen plus the shield regen make him very tanky.

snip

Wait... what?

BSN advice; Skip Carnage cause it's garbage. Grenade Capacity with max clip packs, with Grenade spamming, Incindiary cheese, Harrier, Reeger, and such other uber powered weapons + max consumables. Now your ready to hit that Bronze, Silver, or Gold lobby and troll you heart out. :D

Pugs & my advice; Spec into Carnage (the one power all of BSN hates) or all powers. Plus don't abuse you Grenade Capacity and clip packs. Use Shock Trooper or War Fighter gear to help if too tempted... unless you feel you need a good backup plan for the horrible, horrible pug lobby that you seem to be in? Then use Grenade Capacity just in case? :)

You either failed to read the posts properly, or are just being patronizing again. People in this thread say both, to spec or not to spec.

On topic, I spec 3 ranks in carnage since I like 5 ranks of passive which give the power bonus. I only go till 5 ranks in fortification and have 6 ranks in fitness, since I also spec for melee in rank 4.

I use the Krentinel as a melee build, Kroldier is pure FEs... 6/6/6/4/4 with a Striker (it's actually a really good stagger weapon and ammo primer) with Incendiary Ammo.

Use Grenades on large groups of enemies, or armoured bosses - Carnage to detonate.

Use Striker/Incendiary ammo, with Carnage to detonate, on everything else.

Works like a charm on any difficulty level.

I like your build Tigger.. I've always thought the Fortification purge design was convoluted and stupid.

In theory it sounds cool.  You discharge the electrical current in your gauntlets into your enemy.  But it is a bit underwhelming.

I'd be more impressed if that melee would then prime them for a tech burst (or detonate others kinda like BC).

Better yet, if the target has shield or is synthetic, you regenerate the Fortification (kinda like Energy Drain).

Yeah, and I found without Biotic Charge to restore shields like the Vanguard the pure melee build was getting me killed too much and purging Fortification was a huge PITA. I settled on the following build:

http://kalence.drupa...13W53334!9F0.F2

Despite this I'm getting just as many melee kills, I'm just not dying now. While his movement speed is slow his storm speed is quite fast so I might even go full tank and use Cyclonics on him (or maybe a Power Amp). I haven't shown Fortification as active because I don't purge it and therefore don't get the melee bonus but, as well as 40% DR, it drops the shield recharge delay down to 2.80 seconds.

Give this a try.  He's not as fast, but his Shield Regen is sub-2 seconds.
