So we either choose to have a british accent or an american accent. So does that apply if your an ELf, Human, Qunari and Dwarf, or is it restricted to certain races?

From what I've seen, we'll have a choice between either voice. BW has given no indication that the voice will be restricted by race. There really would be no logical reason to restrict it really.

I personally don't like what I'm hearing from the male British VA, hopefully the American one has a deeper voice
I don't mind the pitch of the British male VA, it's the nasal talking as though he has a cold thing that bothers me.
I am in LOVE with the British female voice. It is so.. Traynor but not Traynor. I didn't think I would like the new VA after Hawke... but yeah. Only way their choice would've been better there is if Gwendolyn Christie was the Inquisitor or if they had tapped another Whovian alum.
And I THINK they used the non-British VA in the dwarven demo video at E3. It is hard to tell because they kept talking over the Inquisitor in the video, but it didn't SOUND like the male British VA but I couldn't identify it as American either.

Well hey they've already shown us a dwarf with a British accent. ![]()

That voice was definitely British. However it really confuses me because I thought he sounded WAY different to the British guy doing one of the past trailer voice overs. The dwarf's voice reminded me more of Hawke than it did that mystical-deep-ish-fantasy voice we heard before.
Very confused.
Need names!

No it was the same British VA, a pitch slider would be a godsend for me because I'm just not feeling it. I don't know but to me he sounds too heroic. I can literally see this guy in spandex posing on a rooftop
I may change my tune if I hear more of him like how I did for Hawkes VA but for now I'm not convinced. The female VA I do agree is spectacular

Good to know about that for the elves. I guess I'll stick with the British accent for my female Dalish mage.

Yes, that's it! That's the word I was looking for.
Too bad we haven't really heard him (or really any of them) properly yet. It's either been trailer voice overs or short in-game footage that was hard to hear because it was talked over.
So is this British guy ALSO the same one from the 30 minute gameplay demo from a few months back?

Yes it has gotten annoying at this point barely hearing what anyone sounds like, you'd think were only selling to people behind closed doors as well.Yes, that's it! That's the word I was looking for.

Wynne had an american accent. As did Flemeth, if you count her.

Duncan didn't really have an accent either now that I think about it.

I like both the female voices so far especially Alix Wilton Regan, i will need to hear more of the US one to be sure about her though. I like the British guys voice better than Male Hawke but I'm not sure about it. I hope they do add pitch options tbh.

So I guess there are humans who speak in an american accent, but they're all female. So if the inquisitor is a human male he'll be the first man to have an american accent. Or was Duncan speaking in an america accent? (my brain hurts)

He had some... kinda of something. But he didn't speak with a British accent. I don't think?

My only concern is the other races, the 4 voices on offer (2 male 2 female) seem to be catered to human inquisitors. I don't feel they would necessarily represent how the qunari or dwarfs would sound as a race and it doesn't seem like a dalish inquisitor will have the correct accent according to previous games. A pitch or tone slide would help with the sound of dwarfs and qun but it wouldn't tackle the dalish issue. Unless there's a reason to the change in accent but that would probs just mean the elf is not dalish.

yeah that was my concern too, Qunari Males have always had somewhat deeper voices.. a limited voice pitch slider(as in, only have 2-3 pitch options set by Bioware) would be a nice solution but unfortunately that's not gonna be included. As for the Elf "issue" i think its fine, an accent isn't affected by your race but where you're from and what language is spoken there so it makes sense that some Dalish clans have different accents depending on where in Thedas they normally live in.

Oh yeah, Wynne did have an American accent! Totally forgot! Flemeth? I didn't know that but yeah, her voice actor kate Mulgrew is from Iowa. I wonder how they will explain that for lore reasons. But anyways, the Inquisitor would be the first human male to have one.

I like his voice and if the American one is too deep then I am going with the British one.
