They are the most enjoyable faction for platinum IMO... however fvck Possessed Scions.

For gold Reapers are the best if I wanna relax , and Cerberus is the fastest (unless your team can not deal with Phantoms and turrets... yep happens sometimes in pugs)

Let's put it this way: Collectors punish impatience and sloppy gameplay more severely than other factions do. Hence I hate them.
 
I can deal with Phantom/Dragoon BS (I actually enjoy the crazy Dragoon spam on W11 Cerberus Platinum), I can deal with Geth (though they make me rage sometimes), I can easily deal with Reapers. But I do hate it when I am downed 4 times in a row by the same Captain or a buttlazer through a wall or something. Collectors make me feel like I am playing off-host even when I am hosting.

Seeker Swarms and Plagues are the only thing that annoy me about the Collectors, especially because they can sneak up on you and then: BOOM! But the Scions and Praetorians are relatively slow, and hardcover can save your life against them. The Collectors Captains are some of my favorite enemies in the game; they just have a lot of DPS, melee strength, and they're quite clever. Wave 4 of Collectors Platinum can be very challenging, for that reason.

How does hardcover help against Scions or Praetorians? I always see this written, but Praetorians are high enough to fire straight over low cover, and Scions can see through walls to drop grenades all round you when you take cover. Normally leading to you going down if you stick to the cover even for an instant, and can't dodge a fair distance.

 

Of course they are the best, cause you don't have to prepare for them, ie. don't need something like something to trivialize Phantoms (like Scropion, Acolyte, Dark Channel), or Geth (Geth Scanner), or Banshees (high enough dps setup or team). Just awesome fair challenge that anything can handle well enough if you play more smart.

 

While this is true, I suspect the perspective depends on with whom one plays. If one plays with friends who are known to be smart, that's one thing, but if one gets a couple dumb pugs (comme moi, par example) then the whole team can wipe.

 

The thing is that I'm also on xbox and I still feel that Collectors are huge pieces of sh*t and I hate them.

@nightslasher: You've articulated your PoV on this topic many times in the forum. There will never be disagreement, because we all have slightly different styles, skills, preferences, abilities, weapons kits, unlocked URs, and experience of play.

 

That said, it should be easy to settle which are the toughest factions. Get them to 1v1 by faction in a battle arena (I suggest Hydra) and see who comes out on top of the tourney.

When they don't crash or remove your frames I enjoy them. I hate when they use their lol PS3 STASIS CLUTCH on w11 to prevent you from winning. Harbinger at his finest. 

 

Seeker Swarms/Plagues are the only thing I have a problem with when playing collectors. Stasis should be able to destroy them and  they shouldn't have more health than a Husk/Abomb. It's ridiculous they can survive a BE, when a Husk/Abomb can't, they should have the same health as a Geth Turret or Geth Prime's Combat Drone. I do find it funny when you realize a ladder is blocked by a Seeker Swarm/Plague climbing up it though.

 

Other than that I enjoy them. I kinda wish they had the Collector Assassin from ME2, so an enemy unit could use the Collector Sniper Rifle against us.

While playing on host or with less lag, fighting Collectors is most fun, you got easy headshots, also there's an explosion every 10 seconds, which is hilarious.

While playing on laggy hosts, however, fighting them becomes a nightmare, cuz one can hardly dodge Crab lasers, seeker swarms, and Scion volleys, etc, which makes it less fun and more pain.

I love the Collectors. They're probably the least bullshit enemy after the Reapers (if we don't count the god-like-grenade-launching ability of them scions). At least you get way less infinite stunlocking than you do against the Geth.

I've certainly played enough Cerberus to be desensitized to their bullshit.

I'm not sure I have a favourite faction, though. The only thing I know is that the Geth are my least favourite faction.

I'm sorry, the best faction, as in the most fun, is not determined to me only by the least amount of bs (which would be reapers in my opinion, by the way), but also by other things... Melon popping sounds and visual effects, for example

 

So, my favorite faction is still Cerberus. Collectors are great though, and very well designed, definitely #2 on the list, and not by much. Might even be #1 if it wasn't for those idiotic values on the plagues...

Cerberus has the highest amount of BS by a long shot.. hence, why they're my least favorite faction.

Phantoms and their pew pew pew which means 3 shot kill for squishy kits.. also, them syncing without their supposed initial melee proc.. and their famous DR for the host (I host almost exclusively)

Being constantly shield gated.. there are too many things that one shot my shields when playing Cerberus.

I don't have any problems with Dragoons.. they're the most fair enemy besides the assault trooper. Yes they can be trivialized by certain powers/weapons (Vanguards, Venom, Stasis) but sometimes I want to play a Hsol with a Typhoon without an anti-phantom sidearm and NOT be punished for it!!

I HATE CERBERUS!! I'll take Geth anyday.

That is literally my only issue with collectors. But similar to swarmers that do stupid DoT, cerberus that throw smoke everywhere, I've kinda gotten used to those plagues
