So two days ago I saved Jack and the kids from Cerberus and then shut off the game as I had to work. Now I load back in, a very cryptic message "Find laptop" appears without ANY pointers whatsoever, all doors are sealed and I don't remember what to do. None of the characters are telling me where to go either. I've looked everywhere but I just find a datapad, some upgrades, a medkit and ammo.

 

Where the beep is this beeping laptop, and why dont the doors open. Most poorly explained part in a game ever.

The laptop is on the main floor, sitting on a bench in the far left corner of the entrance Shepard & co first passed through to encounter Jack and/or the students. As for the doors, the control that disengages the door is in the same room as the students, under that big screen on the wall, and the doors are underneath that room below the main floor. If Jack is alive, she's standing right at the passage (can't remember if a student will stand there instead. It's been ages since I've played vanilla non-import ME3).
