Samara and Thane cause your not shooting up everything for once. You're instead being more of an uncover agent and using your environment.

I did think Tali, Mordin and Legion's loyalty missions were pretty deep story wise and did, at the time, have a bunch of possible ramifications for ME3 depending on what outcome you choose.

The others were just all shooter and honestly bored me. I would have enjoyed Kasumi's mission if we got a choice to go stealth, instead of going guns blazing after you enter the vault.

My favorite part of Kasumi's loyalty mission was sneaking into Hock's private room, brief as it was. I always try to get through it without the guards ever getting a chance to get a single shot out. Shockwave makes that very amusing.

I'm sure you are aware you don't need to fight anyone to get in there.

I know, but where's the fun in that? I like how no one hears them scream as they plummet to their deaths.

But if you trigger the alarm clock a guard comes to investigate.

I know. I found that out in my second playthrough. Now I just sneak upstairs and use a shockwave to send them both flying out the window.

I didn't know those guards were prepositioned. I thought the guard spawned only if you hit the alarm clock. Now I am going to have to try this.

When you leave the room, you can hear them talking about the previous three guards that were taken out and the broken window.

Samara easy.

Best music in the game. Especially in the boss battle. Absolutely amazing.

This is also the mission in which you meet the "Biotic God". His biotics are unstoppable. He thinks things and they happen. Fear him.

That's technically her RECRUITMENT mission, not her loyalty mission.

Grunts mission is the best. You go to TUCHANKA!! and get to see Wrex.

Then you get to headbutt a Battlemaster and later kill him.

Now that's a good day.

Indeed.

I'd say probably Mordin, Tali, and Legion, in that all of them have a lot of interesting backstory about alien cultures, allow Shepard to express opinions on the issues surrounding the krogan and the geth/quarian conflict, and in Mordin's case and to some extent Legion's really delve into their characters. Thane's mission is a welcome break from combat-focused missions.

Miranda's is probably the least interesting to play, in that aside from a few dialogue scenes, you're just fighting Random Merc Group #47 most of the time.

Samara's is the most frustrating for me, in that the conclusion doesn't work, IMO, unless (1) you make a mistake when talking to Morinth and fail the mission, or (2) you're playing a Renegade who saves Samara. Paragons who side with Samara end up sanctioning an extrajudicial execution (Morinth isn't fighting any more by the time Samara kills her), and picking Morinth is just stupid from any conceivable perspective.

Thane, simply because it was very different from the other ones. It was nice having a break from the combat-based loyalty missions.

I could say the same about Samara but the ending of her loyalty mission was not something I particularly liked. I feel it could've been done better.

I actually enjoy Zaeed's.  The action is perfectly fast paced and I personally love revenge stories.

12 includes Zaeed and Kasumi, right?

If so, I'd definitely pick Kasumi. I absolutely loved that loyalty mission, from the party to the fights. And the Locust is a great weapon. Just so much to see and do in that LM compared to the others. Obviously it being DLC gives it an unfair advantage in terms of content.

If you don't include DLC characters, I'd have to say Mordin's, Legion's, or Thane's. Loved the gameplay, atmosphere, and the story of them.

I loved Mordin's. Perfect blend of combat and dialogue. It really made me think.

Kasumi's was awesome too simply because I got to explore Hock's estate.

But you get to headbutt a krogan... and later kill him. That's gotta be worth something, heh.

These two missions can also be failed, which is something I wish Bio had done more of.

Kasumi's mission is the first thing I do after the mandatory missions.

Not because it's fun, cool, awesome, pretty or whatever, no, because of the Locust.

Ultimately I will transfer to assault rifles though.

Well, playing ME1 7x and ME2 9x, and ME3 1x -- I thought it was time to move on to my next game series.   Then BAM!  Guess what happened?   The Illusive man reached out of my screen & grabbed me by the throat and now I'm playing ME2 for the 10th time. :P    Thinking to myself "when will I ever get TIRED of this game?"

I've read about 80 quadrillion forum variations on the Mass Effect series -- with countless Monday morning quarterbacks on "what shudda been done" --  some with excellent ideas.  I posted my suggestions.   We all have our rants & raves.   What amazes me when I read this -- is no matter WHAT anybody says about anything  --- there is ALWAYS someone to counter that idea.

Consider you've got the job to build a game with so many $$$ and resources with a DEADLINE gun held to your head.   You haven't ANY idea what this will turn out in the next 5 years.   From SCRATCH, you've got 1-2 MONTHS to put a story together & get your team working.

Now look at us (players).   We have had literally YEARS to analyze, scrutinize, and take it apart, piece by piece.   Monday morning quarterbacks  .   ME2 is one of my most FUN games to play -- and I think I'm in good company. :D

Yep, I can forgive many of the problems of ME2 simply because it's fun, it's a game you never want to end. If it had some sort of radiant quest system like Skyrim, I'd likely still be playing my first ME2 character from time to time. As it is, I play thru the game at least once every 2 months or so.

Kasumi's was fun. Wish there was more of an emphasis on the espionage though. Being able to take a squadmate along would have been nice too. Miranda in a red dress. <3

Just getting Chuck vibes, lol.

Tali's probably. I don't even like her but the trial was pretty cool as well as exploring the flotilla and retaking the Allarei. I looooove Samara's as well (Morinth <3). Thane is pretty awesome too with the spying stuff and yay techno turian!
