Can't be bothered to play on PC. I'm not familiar with "building" a gaming PC, so I just stick to consoles.

Please point out where in that post I said that you should prefer PC gaming. Maybe there are gremlins changing my posts behind my back...
Apparently so, because earlier in the thread you were clearly speaking to more than the PC's game library, to the experience in general, such as all PC versions being better than console, such as the only reasons to buy a console being lower price and the occasional exclusive, etc.
I'm also puzzled why you would call me a fanboy, considering I 1. don't even have a PS4 yet and 2. Spent around a grand upgrading my PC in the hopes that I would enjoy it enough to abandon console gaming.
New games where controller support is possible all come with it nowadays many games even prioritize it, get a device with WiDi or Mircast and you won't have to hook it up. It's also not an argument being unable to hook it up when you can hook up a console to your TV.
DS4 has native PC support, 360 controller even wireless. DS3 I belive works wireless as well.
Do newer games have DS4 mapping schemes in-game? Genuine question. I know that I can use a PS controller with PC games, as I said so. The issue is games supporting them natively, the way that in The Witcher 2, for example, you can switch to the Xbox controller scheme and all the prompts and controls appear as Xbox buttons.
Do I really have to detail the ways that keeping your PC in your living room when you live with a roommate is an issue whereas a console isn't?

1. That was in response to claims that it PC gaming was somehow inferior. Why didn't you give those guys grief? Also, I'm always talking about objective measures between the two platforms. As you said, subjective features/issues come down to the individual. To some TV gaming is a must, to others it doesn't matter, but better graphics and better performance are just facts between the two platforms. These are not subjective things.
2. Key mappings for playstation controllers ARe being implemented, but you won't be seeing them until Sony arses itself to release drivers.
Just about every game "on PS4" from E3 2013 and E3 2014 were being shown on PC's, with the PS4 controller button mapping, same goes for Xbone games. Again, most, not all.
I guess devs just want to show off the best version ![]()

Oh yeah, that Deflagratio was really bringing the heavy stuff, such as:
I don't think anyone in their right mind can successfully argue PC is the objectively inferior platform, but to some people, peace of mind is worth playing on a less-than-optimal platform. The Insurance Industry wouldn't exist if that wasn't a common mentality.
Or when he says that PC might pay a higher price for its superiority. Really hammering home that PC inferiority.
I'm also simply more inclined to be contrarian when someone goes out of their way to be an ass, like this:
Oh yeah, I agree, dat console "cinematic" frame rate and blurry resolution... definitive more immerse...
Anyway.
I guess devs just want to show off the best version
Sure, graphically and good performance with a good setup.

My husband actually just surprised me last week with a PS4. We have a Xbox 360 but had been discussing getting a next gen console for a while now as we're both gamers, eventually they're going to stop releasing games for older consoles, and the new graphics card we need to turn our pc into a decent gaming computer is way more expensive. Well, he got a 10% off a new PS4 and immediately went to Gamestop and upgraded my preorder for the new console as a birthday present.

How's a $200 GPU (the cost of a GPU more powerful than a PS4) so much more expensive than a $400 PS4?

Not being interested in PC gaming might make you a bit close minded at worst, but definitely doesn't mean you are some sort of console fanboy.
My stance isn't that I'm not interested in PC gaming, I very much am. Actually that's my flaw, I'm too interested in PC gaming actually. It's something of an obsession that settinling for a "Better" Experience than Console isn't enough, I want to squeeze every part of my gaming experience for all its worth. So even if a game works fine, I'll often spend more time tuning and modding than playing. Which is why I prefer to have both (Starting with Console) platforms available.
I only argue that for all the objective superiority of PC's, there's certain personality defects (or boons, depending on how you approach them) that makes Console gaming appealing at times. Trey Parker refers to this effect as the "Lego" effect, in that sometimes it's nice to work completely within a set of rules and guidelines, especially if you work or live in a space where you're allowed huge amounts of personal and creative freedom.
For console only gamers out there: Look up the games I mentioned. I dare you not to get excited about at least some of them. Don't listen to people like "Deflagratio", The PC has a LOT to offer that isn't available on consoles, and it's cheap to get into! Give it a shot sometime, I promise you won't regret it! And no, Sony won't come in and take your PS4 away because you've added PC gaming to your life. You CAN do both.
That's been the whole premise of everything I've been saying. One can't be demonstratively better than another 100% of the time, because these devices are designed as vectors of entertainment, which is wholly depending on personal temperament and mentality. Not some quantifiable score. In the end you have to make the judgement call for which comes first, but I strongly advocate both when it can be afforded.

Oh? I have ME1-3 on PC and PS3, and have played both. While PS3 controls for ME1 are ****, at least I can play Noveria and Ilos without having to "turn the brights on" or else have 3 shadow-lego people running around interacting with shadow-lego objects and shadow-lego enemies.

Not sure what you even mean. Me1-3 are all much better on PC. Hell, loading times alone! You can search online for PS3 ME load times and compare them to PC, it's close to a minute on PS3 for areas WITHIN the damn spaceship, load screen you hit several times per session, all of which take exactly .5 seconds on PC.

Greatly exaggerating to make a point, not even an SSD would produce that quick load times.

Do you even own a SSD? I have 5 of them in Raid-0 and the load time ME1 is quite fast in fact. Maybe 6 seconds at the slowest.

That's still 12 times slower than .5 seconds.Do you even own a SSD? I have 5 of them in Raid-0 and the load time ME1 is quite fast in fact. Maybe 6 seconds at the slowest.
Bought my first SSD 3 years ago at 3 times the price per GB it is nowadays and I never went back to HDDs.

This is ME3 PS3 vs PC load times, loading a multiplayer match. Keep in mind that loading area sin single player would take even longer ona PS3. also keep in mind that this PS3 has been upgraded with an SSD, and the PC is using a STANDARD SPINDLE DRIVE.
I'm looking for the ME2 load times ocmparison video... I thought I had it somewhere. It showed, clearly the load times difference, and it was close to a minute on PS3, vs almost instantaneous on PC.
I'm NOT exaggerating. Load time differences between PC and console are notorious.

It was near instantaneous. Damn it, I'm not lying to you man. Read the thread. They all clearly say the PC is near instantaneous and that they could "make a sandwich" in the time it takes for the PS3 to load.
You're going to make me re-install ME2, aren't you?
I noticed you also conveniently skipped discussion of the other video I posted...

Saw it but it wasn't that telling and nowhere in the thread did they say they were bear instantaneous, they mostly talked about how bad it was on PSi and how slightly worse it was on 360. I've experienced the load times in ME2 on PS3 as well and it was really atrocious but no I won't believe it loads in half a second. I've used SSD for years now and I was simply astonished at the load speeds after building my first into a laptop but .5 is too doubtful too me.It was near instantaneous. Damn it, I'm not lying to you man. Read the thread. They all clearly say the PC is near instantaneous and that they could :make a sandwich" in the time the PS3 loads.

The amazement of programs simply popping up like it's nothing booted in less 10 seconds shut down in less than.

OK, whatever. If I exaggerated it was int he order of give or take .75 of a second. TI was either half a second, a second or a second and a half.
Here's more evidence: On dual core systems with slow spindle drives the game can take 20 seconds to load on PC (still MUCH better than the PS3 load times which can be 3 times as long).... Or so it seems. It looks like Bioware decided to lengthen the load in order to show the load screens. By removing the load screens, the load time, AGAIN for a dual core CPU and slow spindle drive, went from 20 seconds to 3 seconds or thereabouts.
Do you really think shaving off a second of that load time is something a 4 core CPU + better spindle drive or SSD can't do?

Wasn't aware it was possible to cut the loading screens out with them gone I'm sure it takes considerably less time and an SSD might really get it to near instantaneous.
Must... resist... debating whether deviating from... premise have to... concede point.
