Does anyone know if the game is going to look better on the Ps4 or Xbox one.

Depends entirely on how the developers use each piece of hardware.

The PS4 has greater capacity for graphical fidelity than the Xbox1, but that was true with the PS3 V. Xbox360, and most of the time Multiplatform titles looked better on the Xbox360.

Now that the Kinect is Optional (Unknown if DA:I was going to use Kinect, and if they were, support may have been amputated to get more horsepower) the gap between PS4 and X1 is a bit closer.

As a General Rule though the PS4 consistently looks and runs better than the Xbox One so far on most (perhaps all) games. But honestly I'd tell you to base your platform off what controller you prefer at this point

For some reason though it seems as if some developers have problems using anisotroptic filtering on the PS4 while the XBOs upscaler simply crushes the black

You're probably better informed about the situation than I am then. AF is one of those things that does make a surprisingly big difference in visual quality, especially in the more open games.

The PS3 and Xbox 360 situation is not really comparable to the current situation with Xbone and PS4. The architectures are much more similar now and the bottom line is the PS4 has a more powerful GPU and architecture that is easier to work with.

The PS4 should always feature better looking games... assuming the developers aren't dumbing down that version for the sake of "parity".

So far, at least that has definitely been the case, specially when multiples are involved. Watch dogs features better shadows and lighting on PS4 as well as a resolution of 900p Vs 792p? I think.

Yep. Baffling, really. On PC, AF is essentially free, and the only difficulty in implementing it properly arises when POM is used to good effect. And yet we just don't see it on most PS4 and Xbone titles. Maybe a bandwidth issue?

Wasn't aware it was possible to cut the loading screens out with them gone I'm sure it takes considerably less time and an SSD might really get it to near instantaneous.

Must... resist... debating whether deviating from... premise have to... concede point.

YAY! :) I was about install ME2 :)

One comment, a single game should never be the deciding factor in deciding what new console you want (Unless of course you're just rolling in money, in which case have at it). Especially when it's not an exclusive.

How's a $200 GPU (the cost of a GPU more powerful than a PS4) so much more expensive than a $400  PS4?

We were actually looking at a $600 dollar one.

Probably PS4, but aside from the horrible sound desynchs in some of ME2's cutscenes, the platform differences in BioWare games tend to be minor.

Might I add, and I am not a fanboy, pls. I owned a 360 and was a PC gamer before getting a PS4, and might get an XBone when I saved some more.

For me at the moment there just a lot more games coming out on the PS4 exclusively I want to play the Order and Bloodbourne.

I'm like a sheep when it comes to bungie and. Bioware, the only way I could get into the alpha and beta for destiny was via the PS4.

That's like a 780ti, that's not equivalent to a PS4, that's almost 3 times a PS4.

Yup.  We don't like upgrading alot so if we can get something high end once every few years or so we call it good.  We end up saving money in the long term.  The only reason my husband got the PS4 was because he was able to get 10% off.  As it stands right now though I can't even play KOTOR2 on our computer cuz our graphics card won't support it.

DAI was just last year revealed to be a next-gen title.

I believe the GOG.com version of KOTOR 2 should run well on modern systems. It's a decade old game so without someone like GOG to help you'll need to do a little tweaking.

Well, I would say waiting a bit for a new GPU would probably end up being to your advantage in the long run. In 3 years that 780 ti or equivalent will probably cost $250, and suddenly you'll have a PC 3 times more capable than a PS4.

That's true but where does it end? By the time the GPU we're looking at is at that price a newer better one will be out.  I figure we get that one there's a good chance it will last for at least a couple generations of games so instead of spending $250 every couple of years we spend 600 once.  Personally I'm still regretting we didn't take the half decent GPU out of our old pc when it fried to at least test.

You can be pretty sure that no game is gonna look better on Xbox One. It might look the same on both, though.

I need to justify my purchase of PS4 so I will be getting it on there. Thought I'd game more on it, but Street Fighter, Dynasty Warriors, and my friends keep me on PS3.

Not forgetting that for a long time most devs found it harder to make games on the PS3 when compared to the 360, even the 360 Dev kit was easier tot use.

I plan to get an Xbone myself in the future, but only after Microsoft upgrades the hardware. Its a proven fact by now Microsoft made a critical error in their design and the Xbone just isnt as powerful as the PS4.

Though i've heard Microsoft is already in the works of upgrading the Xbone hardware so it is more comparable with PS4's Power. Besides remote play, my choice to get a PS4 first was because out of the box, its hardware is solid  enough without requiring a Hardware refresh as Xbox does.

Microsoft is not going to upgrade the Xbox One and fragment the market. Where did you hear that stupid rumor? Like it or not, we are stuck with it for the next 5-6 years.

That's a pipe dream. Microsoft can't just release an upgraded version of their system because any games designed to take advantage of that power would be unusable on the original console. It would split their userbase. People have theorized that it could work if developers designed their games to run in 2 different modes (a high and low graphical settings mode i suppose), but that would add a lot lot of work for them and most likely be an unpopular decision.

First that's a stupid idea that simply won't work, and never did, on consoles secondly it's not like the PS4 is that much stronger. It's what like 40% stronger than the XBO afaik but still just on the level of low-range, maybe low mid-range PC at best.
I'll still get games on the XBO primarily as it's cheaper for me and I prefer the controller.

At least you'll have a PS4 for Dragon Age 4!
