Cassandra being smiley at a guy kissing him on the cheek 18 years ago doesn't necessarily make her straight. Cullen having a crush on a female mage ten years ago doesn't make him straight. They very well could be bisexual. I'm bisexual, and five years ago I was only ever going after girls. My only showing outward interest in one gender didn't make me any less bi, and also people change over time. A person can learn a lot about their sexuality in 10 or 18 years.

But there is no evidence to prove otherwise, is there? If not, they have to be straight until proven otherwise.

Really? Cassandra and Cullen, they can be seen as Straight considering their histories, and until suggestions that the "hero worship" from DA2 had a more romantic tone, I can't see her Cassandra as bi, and there is nothing to suggest Cullen is bi at all.

Plus, for the race-gating, why suggest that Sera be gay AND elf only if you do not think she will be that? other than being an idiot. Possibly the "race-restriction" is code for "one race will have the same number of romances but with different partners that the others"?

I would have liked your comment, as personally, I'd peg Cassandra and Cullen as straight, too, for the same reasons. The addition of calling the people who guessed maybe Sera was race-restricted idiots: there's no need for that. Not to be a downer, also, but I think one of the Bioware people heavily implied that there might be an uneven number of romances available to each race. I am personally hoping that still means at least 2 per race/sex combo of each sex, but idk.

But there is no evidence to prove otherwise, is there? If not, they have to be straight until proven otherwise.

They don't *have* to be straight, though… nothing's been outright confirmed. If people want to hope they are bi, then let them hope. For all we know it could be true. We don't know, yet.

draken-heart probably shouldn't have come into this thread. It's just a thread full of predictions, for fun. None of them are confirmed by actual Bioware employees, you know? Truly, people should avoid topics that are potentially going to upset them.

This is the BSN!  You take your logic and you get out of here!  :P

Straight until proven guilty!  I mean bisexual!  I'm sorry, but truly, that made me laugh.

It's a bad idea to assume that in the real world.  For our companions in a Dragon Age game (with a company known for continually expanding it's non-hetero options for LIs,) it's an even worse idea.

So what would she have to do to indicate she might be interested in women? Snog a lady in the first 5 minutes of the game just to make it absolutely certain? She hasn't really given any indication whatsoever towards her orientation in anyway. Is it likely Bioware will make her straight just based on their past track record? Yeah probably. Do we have some sort of overwhelming evidence to prove that she is? No not even remotely.

Everyone already facepalmed enough for me, but no. Straight is not the default setting for peoples sexualities.

That's like assuming everyone is one religion or race; it's dismissive and leads to misunderstandings.

To lighten the mood, name the person who said;

"Take THAT, dire bunny! All darkspawn fear my Sword of Truthiness!"

Haven't been following this for awhile, is there any confirmed info on romances yet, aside from Sera been a lesbian? (looks like the only male options are uglyboring viv and Cas redesigned to be ugly specially for dai, oh well)

Usually read an "unofficial faq" thread, but nobody bothered to make one. :)

Just saying that nothing in her history really suggests it. Maybe if she actually had romantic feelings/crush on female Hawke, even though the Hero Worship could just be appreciation for a woman becoming the power she was.

Why?

EDIT: Seriously though, why not assume everyone is bi until proven otherwise? Or gay? This is a fantasy game, with far more outlandish things than disproportionate amounts of LGBQ+ in the main cast.

Why?

That is pretty much how it goes. If they do not come out, they can't truly be seen as any sexuality, and therefore is default straight.

Wow, uglyboring Viv?  Have you...really paid attention to her design?  At all?  Her clothes, her headdress...boring isn't a word I'd describe for Vivienne.  She's not my type, but she is lovely.

Cass wasn't "redesigned to be ugly."  Those are largely the same features as she had in DA2, just with a new engine.    <_<

What's wrong with her, anyhow?   I see nothing wrong with the way she looks.  A poster recently was doing art ideas based upon the concept of going to an Orlesian ball.

You're...serious.  I appreciate the laugh, since I've got some stuff on my mind.   :D

Right, good luck out there in the world.  You're gonna need it.

Heteronormativity at its finest, ladies, gentlemen, and nb folks. Apparently you can't escape it even in reality-defying fantasy worlds.

We do not have any evidence to suggest Cassandra and Cullen go both ways, so the only logical conclusion is that they are Straight, just like the most logical conclusion is that Iron Bull is bisexual. All of this is just based off of what we know, not blind speculation based off of nothing.

If I meet a woman on the street, what is the likeliest thing that I will think? That she is cute, and is straight. Until she turns me down, she can't be a lesbian.
