So there is hope for Sera fans after all? Great!
If Sera fans want to play a female character, then yeah.

Not likely, unless Sera is still relevant several games later.
Well, apperantly sexuality is fluid. So I guess making Sera bi in the future wouldnt be wrong, right?

Maybe, let's wait a decade or so.
(turn "facetious" switch off)
Except for one thing- we were told she's lesbian. That's definitive, much more so than anything else we've been told about previous characters.

Be careful, because this is squicky as there are literally people that think if they are just the right man, so to speak, they can "turn a lesbian straight."
It'd be best to stick with the reality that Sera is a lesbian, and that that probably won't change.

Sexuality is fluid for some. Sera is a confirmed lesbian. Your magical sword of truthiness isn't going to turn her bi. Sorry.
Making Sera bi in the future wouldn't be wrong per se (<<disregard this bit), but don't expect it to happen right now.
^^What he said!
Also what Samashi said!

In the case of Sera, it would actually be pretty problematic for her to turn bi, just because the "lesbian-until-she-meets-the-right-guy" trope is so common. In real life, sure, I guess.

Gonna disagree here.
Yeah I disagreed with myself right after I pressed "post". That was my mistake and a very poor thing to say. I'm going to keep it up though because it feels kind of cowardly to erase it at this point.

You can add an edit if you want to make sure people don't assume you have a stance you don't actually have, though.

Yeah that's a good idea, thanks. I'll do that.

I think it's the "making" that bothers me the most; although I know OP misspoke.
If some people are already adversely reacting to Sera's status as a lesbian companion, I can only imagine what sort of reactions the exclusively gay male companion will elicit. Hopefully no outlandish petitions clamoring for the removal of an employee. It almost always seems to be the non-straight male characters that certain people are most threatened by. I don't know about those people, but for gay men like myself who have always had to settle for less or nothing at all, I'm sincerely grateful that regardless of fan reaction, Bioware continues to aim for equal representation to the best of their abilities.
See: the backlash against Anders hitting on male Hawkes

Well said. I don't get the fuss in the first place. I'll play my (male elf mage) Inquisitor exactly the way I want to and I'll accept the reality that comes with that choice. If that makes Sera (or any other companion for that matter) unavailable as a love interest then that's the way it is - and that's just the fun of it. I don't want a game that's catered to my whims so to speak, I want to be thrown into a world and see what I make of it while being true to myself. That makes me feel like I'm really there, a world where you can change everything to suit you is meaningless.
That being said...Any eta on info on the other companions? I'm so curious! ![]()

I agree with this, i have personal experience of guys wanting to date me in order to "cure" me of my bisexuality like it's some kind of challenge, so there are people that seriously believe in being able turn people straight
I ran into that a few times as well before I met my husband. It's pretty creepy.

Is a reason why i prefer dating other women cos apart from 1 ex gf trying to "turn" me lesbian, ive never had trouble with girls treating me like a challenge to conquer. I hope Sera stays gay, her being turned bisexual by a guy would be slightly uncomfortable to me.

I have had this happen a couple times, while at the same time dismissing that my bisexuality was even a real thing. When I insisted I am, in fact, "a real bisexual person," and am resistant to the idea of being "converted," then it's clearly a sign that I'm not bi but actually gay.
Quotation marks. I thought the entire film was a pretty stereotypical "opposites attract" kind of deal.
The movie is about Cassandra coming to term with her global mage hatred, she shows no attraction to Galyan romantically in it. Galyan's interest in Cassandra is used as the comedic element of the movie on top of that. It's totally one-sided

As you say.

This has happened to an Asexual friend of mine as well, and also a lesbian friend. I have always wondered why some guys think that their Dc is so great it can change someone...
