He'll have fur trimming and mope alot?
And look sorrowful, and get played by Sean Bean.

Yep, gonna happen, 9/10
Not really- the "Reign of Terror" and mass guillotinings are not the 100% completion ending for "French Freedom Fighter." Good things came of it, eventually, but it was not good itself.
In the grand scheme of things though it did work, it just took a long long time to stabilize. I definitely would not volunteer to go back and live in immediate post French revolution though, haha.

They killed the Nobles, killed the royals, killed the revolutionaries. . . lotsa rolling heads.

Way to condemn the guy!
Way to condemn the guy!
Hey. he might survive,
Maybe.
He'll probably be outlived by children, or a brother, at least.

Are we still talking about Varric?

You can have half siblings, man. I don't know his life.

Varric said he had family like a rat has fleas.

He's noble. He's a popular 'buddy' character. He felt like one of the few sane companions in Kirkwall.
We're all looking forward to seeing him because we think BioWare will pull a Garrus.
Guess what? BioWare will pull a GRRM.
Yeah, I can't see this not happening now.

Anyways.. I never replied to the French Rev comment. I don't know if anyone really wants to hear my opinion. There's something I can almost admire about complete social breakdown, mass beheadings of nobility, and a big FU to anyone slightly associated with them.
Because it rarely happens. People live in fear, generally speaking.
The world doesn't end there though. Things improve eventually.

I assume he was speaking of more distant relations. It'd make sense for extended family to be heavily invested in his life, seeing as they're dwarves.

Just to add, even though I don't like the Qunari, I share their outrage. The Arishok's outrage, I mean.
I'm just not into the whole "wiping people's identities out" thing.

Not if played by Sean Bean!!!

I'd argue more "innocent" people died than "guilty" people, though; I think that that doesn't balance the scales at all.

True. Well, I mean, he'll likely be more popular than anyone else in the game, then.

He also told Bethany when she was sad about Carver. "You want my brother? I've got a few to spare."
So I think he has a big family - of brothers as well. Bartrand was just the head.

You liking that post fills me with a deep and foreboding sense of disquiet.

Being played by Sean Bean is a death flag.

Glorious deaths though.
I don't think he ever dies in a boring way.

In the end though it did balance the scales. France is doing extremely well as far as class disparity. Unlike America at the moment.

Yeah, it's like a lesson they'll probably have on their minds forever. "Lets not try that again."

Is it causation or correlation, though? Is beheading people publicly inherently good for the economy?
Do what again? What crimes did the nobles commit that were equal to mass extermination of an entire class of people, plus many thousands more in witch trials?
