And I don't see how the 2h sword thing comes in with an elf. Are you worried that they would put a racial restrictions on weapon styles?

The only racial restriction for the classes is that dwarves can't be mages.

Not that, but when I picture it, a 2h elf warrior looks weird. Having to play an elf to romance Sera makes it insulting.

We know nothing about Solas. Cole was almost positively confirmed by Gaider to be non-romancable at one point... but who knows maybe he "grew up" after

I never played a warrior, so I couldn't say, but Oghren made the two handed swords/hammers look good... so did Fenris...

Even though I don't see them doing 8 romances here are my predictions:

Cassandra - straight
Cullen - straight
Blackwall - straight

Sera - female only
Dorian - male only

Iron Bull - bisexual
Scribbles - bisexual
Vivienne - bisexual

I said an elf, Fenris looked plain silly to me. Carver looked better with a 2 handed sword than he did.

I thought he looked fine; I thought the two-handed sword worked on him. Opinions.

Pick the lighter looking ones then. I always had Fenris using the skinnier swords. Carver got the hammers. I had more of an issue with Fenris' bare feet than I did with him wielding a giant sword. After all, just remember what that skinny minnie Cloud used to drag around. If he can manage that, Fenris can manage the DAII swords.

That said, I don't think they would racially restrict the s/s romances because that would defeat part of the purpose of including them I think. Opposite of inclusive and all... So I don't think you need to worry.

I thought he looked silly with any 2 handed weapon. Swords included.

Still does not mean that both WILL happen on the same character. Just because Sera is a lesbian means nothing about her being race-gated.

Until they give more details about this, we have to assume that they will be for all races until we can eliminate.

Oh I'm doubtful they'll happen on the same character. race gating bi characters cuts down their LI scenes so you don't have to spend a month working on modeling the different kissing heights and whatnot. I'm guessing bi characters will be race gated, straight or gay ones not so much.

I thought Merrill clipping through all the staves was the worst of the DAII weaponry. Personally.

I just figured the 2hander with elf is sort of a throwback to FF and JRPGs. Especially Cloud Strife (not that Cloud is an elf though. Just that he and Fenris resemble each other a little).

Fairly certain it will play out such as -

Vivienne, Cole, Blackwall and Leliana being non-romance characters (one of each class including one important NPC)

Cassandra - Male Human, Elf, Dwarf or Qunari

Solas - Female Human, Elf, Dwarf or Qunari

Cullen - Male or Female Human, Elf, Dwarf or Qunari

Scribe Girl - Male or Female Human, Elf, Dwarf or Qunari

Sera - Female Human, Elf, Dwarf or Qunari

Dorian - Male Human, Elf, Dwarf or Qunari

Iron Bull - Male or Female Qunari

Varric - Female Dwarf

3 straight characters, 3 bi-sexual characters, 2 gay characters and 2 race-exclusive characters.

I agree with this, although I think Cassandra and Solas will be bi (because they're companions) and Cullen and Scribbles will be straight (since they are NPC). I think humans would be also able to bang Iron Bull.

Why can't straights be companions? Are we that bad? :D

At least you wouldn't be able to scare them off by taking them where they give constant disapproval to your actions. The advisers are probably stuck with you no matter what you do. You could probably just keep poking cullen in the face and he could do nothing.

I don't like the idea of no bisexual companions. I don't like them locking up the bisexuals behind the lines. Seems cheap somehow. A bit like Chambers and Allers just being around only when Shep wanted to get some and was feeling too lazy to finish a "real" romance.

The clipping is merely a graphical glitch. Fenris is simply an elf that would look better as a rogue than swinging a giant weapon.

I just think Cassandra and Solas will be more bi simply cause they seem to be main characters important to the plot and they'll want as much content available to players as possible. Cullen and Scribbles are NPCS and always at the keep plus in Cullen's case its more consistent with his history (loving the female mage in Origins).

He's not a rogue in any way though. He's an aggressive person in general.

I said look. He is not a physically adept fighter, so swinging a 2 handed weapons of any type should be a bit harder for him, but it was the same as Carver and warrior Hawke.

But this is the last I will say on this off-topic problem.

Rogues can be aggressive. As can mages.

Classes in Thedas have no specific personality.

Fine. I should say no Tact, no Finesse, no patience.

But then they would've had two elven rogues in a row. Boring. Also... didn't work with his characterization at all. He should've been a little beefier perhaps but I don't think there is anything wrong with him. Especially since one could just headcanon that his lyrium markings made him stronger than he appeared to be.

ANyways... on topic...

They did make him stronger. He's basically a Reaver (with Templar stuff too), and thrives off of pain.

...right! Back on topic!

My guesses:

Sera: Lesbian, no humans

Cassandra: Bisexual, all

Scribbles: Straight, all (only because we don't know anything about her)

Cullen: Straight, all

Dorian: Gay, no Qunari

Iron Bull: Bisexual, no dwarves OR no elves (depends on whether he thinks the short people or the thin people are more likely to break)

The Unlikely Ones:

Blackwall: Gay, all

Varric: Straight, no Qunari or Humans

Vivienne: Bisexual, no Humans (solely because the Human Inquisitor is Ferelden)

So can we stop with the race-gating characters in the sexual orientation? All I know:

  • Bull seems to bi-sexual
  • Cassandra is straight until proven other wise
  • Cullen is the same as Cassandra
  • Sera is exclusively lesbian
  • Vivienne might be bi as she is Orleasian.

Why would Cullen and Cass be the same?
