Yeah, Dorian is a tough one because he has a very strong, very vocal following of both genders.  I tend to think he's gay, but recognize that this would disappoint many ladies.

There are really only three options for the gay companion (provided there is one):  Dorian, Solas, and Blackwall.  If I had to guess, I'd say Blackwall won't be an LI since he looks like he's approaching his Calling.  If Iron Bull is bisexual and is a romance, then that would mean that it's possible that Solas and Dorian are the other companion LI's, with one being straight and the other being gay.  Either way, people are going to be disappointed.  The reason why I think Dorian is gay is because I just don't see them making both of the elves gay, especially after having every other elf LI being bisexual.

I really just want them to release the chart so that we can all know for sure who we'll have access to and we start the joint celebration/healing process.

Not sure if I said it in this thread or the other...

But them taking the grey streak out of Blackwall's hair gives me hope for Ser Bara to be... well... a Bara. I don't think the Calling is far off from Kepral's Syndrome and they gave us THAT ray of sunshine for a romance... who is to say that the m/m romance can't be the heartbreakingly tragic one this time?

Maybe Fiona could heal him of the taint for you, lol.

Could be.  I wouldn't be dreadfully disappointed if he were the gay companion because he seems like a badass.  I'd be a little bummed that the first romance with a gay companion in DA couldn't be a happy one, but I'd probably get over it.

And, I actually liked him better with the grey streaks!  ;)

Man, I really miss the grey streaks.  Blackwall is still hot in a delightfully bearish way, but I liked the grey.  Older men need love too.

I think, in the end, that there will probably be 3-4 per race:

  1. 1 straight, obvious
  2. 1 gay/lesbian only
  3. 1-2 pure bisexual

The only restriction is gender/race.

I will almost certainly play my third playthrough as a female dwarf.  It probably be my only female playthrough and I would absolutely love to romance Vivienne with her.  If Viv isn't possible, then one of the other gals (Sera's actually probably my least favorite gal).

I've only ever finished DA: O with one gal and she was a lady Aeducan who was in love with Gorim, then fell for Allistair and got dumped for Anora.  Unlucky lady, that one!

I've only done one playthrough as a male in DA, in Origins when I wanted to get the Morrigan romance content which. I wish I could've done as a lesbian instead. I didn't play as a male at all in 2 because I didn't feel like I had to for access to interesting content. I would prefer not to play as one for Dorian, but I'll consider it, blah D:

Same here. No BroHawke because why bother?

I think it spoiled me.

I played brohawke for a sexy romance with Anders who I really wanted to kill but my Brohawke didn't so they frolicked away from all the guilt and their home in the epilogue instead. Cowards. Sexy, sexy cowards.

Pretty much. There are too many arguments and sensitivity over anything LI atm.

This is exactly the opposite for me with females.  Like I said, my Lady Aeducan is the only gal I've finished DA: O with.  While I've started female Hawke's a few times, I've never really been able to get into it.  I began the Isabela romance with one of them and just kind of lost interest and stopped playing.

Interestingly, the same thing happened with the ME series.  In ME, I played both a male and female Shep.  I continued both through ME 2.  But when I was able to finally play as a gay male Shep in ME 3, I just couldn't ever complete the female Shep story.  Now, every time I replay it, I do a gay guy instead.

I've never been able to play a female Shepard.  I like Kaidan but he wasn't enough incentive in the first game, and then when I got him anyway in 3 there was no need.  No one else really struck my fancy.

I've made Wardens of both sexes and I liked them both.  On the other hand, I've never made a female Hawke that got further than the gates of Kirkwall.  Of course, I have a crush on male Hawke, so that has something to do with it too.

Exactly. Iunno why you even need to explain it to people... like preference is preference... all there is to it. No harm done.

I completely understand that!

Me too.

I think most of the women that want Dorian so much are the ones that don't want Cullen at all (like me).
And since the ladies will likely get Cullen either way, we can only hope that the other male LI is a good one.
I'd be fine with Solas too, he's not exactly my type but he seems interesting, which matters most to me.
I just hope bioware is aware that not every women finds Cullen "swoonworthy"...

This is the case with me. I don't care for Templars, I don't like authoritarian "duty first" types, I don't like how he runs away from a female mage like an immature child in Origins. I don't like that he's an NCP and I won't be able to rp with him as a couple fighting together and watching each other's back. :(

I posted my guesses in the other thread, but I'll do it again here;

Cassandra - Straight

Sera - Lesbian

Vivienne - Bisexual

Scribbles - Bisexual NPC

Solas - Straight

Dorian - Gay

Iron Bull - Bisexual

Cullen - Bisexual NPC

Vivienne and Iron Bull are the ones I'm least sure of being LIs, but I'm also a little on the fence about Solas.

Cassandra - Male or Female Human, Elf, Dwarf or Qunari

Solas - Male or Female Human, Elf, Dwarf or Qunari

Cullen - Female Human, Elf, Dwarf or Qunari

Scribe Girl - Male Human, Elf, Dwarf or Qunari

Sera - Female (confirmed) Human, Elf, Dwarf or Qunari

Dorian - Male Human, Elf, Dwarf or Qunari

Iron Bull - Male or Female Qunari

Varric - Female Elf, Qunari, or Dwarf ("Pity I'm not into humans")

I'd assume six or seven of these, but eight?

The fact that Cullen is a non-party member is what vastly lowers his desirability to me. I would like to have Dorian and Solas as options, but I can still be happy with one of them.

Okay so if it's "more romances than any other Bioware game" lets look at Mass Effect 3 which had A TON! (These were the ones that granted the Paramour achievement.)

Male Only:

1. Miranda

2. Tali

3. Jack

4. Ashley

5. Steve

Female Only:

6. Samantha

7. Garrus

Either gender:

8. Kaidan

9. Liara

10. Kelly

Plus there were other quasi-romances that didn't grant the Paramour achievement.

These include:

Thane

Diana

Javik (Citadel DLC)

Samara (Citadel DLC)

James (Citadel DLC)

So, as you can see there are A LOT, and that's just counting the full ones. Don't rule anyone out yet, because if Bioware intends to beat their record they have at least 7 or 8 to go!

Crap... what is it then like... 4?

Also here are my guesses:

Blackwall: N/A

Cassandra: Straight

Dorian: Gay

Iron Bull: N/A

Sera: Lesbian

Varric: Straight

Vivienne: Straight, maybe Bi

Cullen: Straight

Scribbles: Bi

But I really can't say for sure. I just wanna set that legendary romance chart!!

Also I'm too lazy to put in race restrictions :D , but I think that it will be mainly based on a physical level, like a Qunari may not be able to romance say like a Dwarf due to high issues. But hey, I dunno.

Fairly certain it will play out such as -

Vivienne, Cole, Blackwall and Leliana being non-romance characters (one of each class including one important NPC)

Cassandra - Male Human, Elf, Dwarf or Qunari

Solas - Female Human, Elf, Dwarf or Qunari

Cullen - Male or Female Human, Elf, Dwarf or Qunari

Scribe Girl - Male or Female Human, Elf, Dwarf or Qunari

Sera - Female Human, Elf, Dwarf or Qunari

Dorian - Male Human, Elf, Dwarf or Qunari

Iron Bull - Male or Female Qunari

Varric - Female Dwarf

3 straight characters, 3 bi-sexual characters, 2 gay characters and 2 race-exclusive characters.

This list makes me pretty damn happy.

Having not read Asunder, I'm lacking knowledge. Could someone tell me why Cole can't be a romance? (And if it has actually been confirmed?). I've seen a few things about him having the mind of a child. So, does he actually act like a kid? Or would he just not understand that sort of stuff?
