They have that in red and gold you know :D

But yeah, the red and gold version of this may be a bit much, even for him.

I've been having fits trying to find good armor for Beldin. I don't like how the leather armor leaves the guys pretty much bare-legged, but he doesn't have coin enough for chain or splint, and that includes the various Witcher or Kirkwall variants. Carver's body armor would work, but I don't like the bare arms. I like this one, but it's too fancy, and the shirt is too white.

Spoiler

I have actually been thinking about this all day. :)

I don't know the first thing about the toolset, or how making mods works, really.

But.

I do know a bit about texture work. (A long time ago, I did Poser stuff, I've done Second Life things, and Sims 2 things.)  If you can either extract the texture, or point me at how to do it, I can see what I can do? I'm not wanting to step on anyone else's work, obviously, but if it's just for us, I could give it a shot. :)

That's a really generous offer! Sadly, I haven't the foggiest idea how to extract textures from a .cif file, or even from the vanilla game. It isn't something I've ever done before.

I do know that texture files are stored in each mod's .cif, and that PYGFF can be used to extract them, but that's about as far as I've gone with it. I also know that you can't use PYGFF to extract texture files directly, since they aren't readable by the toolset or something like that (wow, how's that for vague?). I've got tremendous respect for the people who do graphical mods, but they're well beyond my understanding.

Well, I may poke around here and there and see if any of my previous knowledge about getting things out of the Sims might do any good at all. :P I will post (probably in all caps) if I have any success at all. :D

I'd be careful if I were you, BFace... You make something shiny for Beldin and we'll all be knocking at your door...

haha. If I figure it out, it will specifically be NOT shiny, for Beldin. :D

It would be awesome if you could pull something of Bramblefae! And yeah... if you do I'll do my best to not overwhelm you with requests :P

Hey, if folks think we've just about covered the RP opportunities this round, I could post the next segment. Just let me know what actions you intend to pursue.

I have 3 Team, having healed the Dalish woman, completing their exploration of the barn and I have 4 Team wrapping up their investigation of the remains they found in the field. I'm going to need specific information about each team's next course of action.

Bface, do you need to say anything else for Tessa? If not, I can post Etienne and we can move on. :D

Nope. Tess is waiting for you all at the doorway of the barn. :)

I was wondering about the pace: I am afraid to go too fast, so I try to keep my posting to a minimum to give everyone of my team the chance to respond first. Is that ok or would you prefer to go a bit faster Berelinde?

We're still finding out what works for us as a group. Some players seem to have greater availability than others, and I don't want to put pressure on folks who can only commit to one or maybe two posts a week, so maybe we can compromise?

At the moment, we're wandering around the farm, sticking our heads in buildings and finding out what happened to the Fuldors. Both groups have news to share, and as luck has it, both teams are converging on a common point. Team 3 is thinking about exploring another building (and will therefore need to leave the barn) and Team 4 is following the tracks Bartha found. This will put both teams at the stone well at the same time. I'll post something to that effect tonight. Once the teams meet, they're going to have to decide where to go next from there (continue to search, get help for the Dalish survivor, give up and go to Kirkwall, whatever). Anyone selecting Kirkwall will be keel-hauled.

Folks can stay with their current group or change teams, but I'd like each team to agree on a course of action and destination by Saturday so I can put up the next game posts. In the meantime, maybe they're sharing info about their finds or maybe they're ducking off to go have a peek at what the other team found. That should give frequent RP-ers a chance to do their thing without stressing out those who can only post once or twice a week. What I *don't* want is for faster posters to scoop up all the exploration and leave only the chicken coop for the other team.

Sound good?

Edit: Just so you know, there are 3 buildings that might be considered farmhouses. There's Edred & Mirren's place, Hann & Faleen's place, and the Farmhand Quarters. Please consult the map in the game thread if you aren't sure where any of them are.

I totally agree on wanting to give those with less time an equal opportunity to respond, hence why I asked :) I got the feeling that the 4team was considered to be 'slow', but I had not yet seen much response from some members... so I felt a bit insecure whether or not I should post the 'explore part' yet or wait for it.

If you wanted to snoop around the outbuildings or poke your head into the barn (as an area that 3 team has already explored), please feel free! I'd be happy to GM you through it. Ditto, if 3 team wants to poke around any of the areas 4 team has already explored. It isn't that 4 team is slow, it's just bigger, with more schedules to coordinate.

There's no race. :)

Just so you know, the post is delayed a bit, as I'm trying to unbork the lighting. Again. By the Maker, lighting will be the death of me. But it will happen tonight, I swear it.

Lighting is still thoroughly borked. Le Sigh. But the post is going up. I will add lights one at a time until I figure out why I suck so bad at this.

Tempest suggested her opinion in the thread, but if others disagree she'll go along with the majority.

OK, so I have Etienne, Rael, Tempest, and Tessa checking out Edred and Mirren's house, and everybody on that team seems on board with that. I'll post your findings tonight.

Beldin suggested checking out the cellar (which is under Edred and Mirren's house, but the entrance is outside the house itself (those who have lived in a house with Bilco doors or in a really old farmhouse will know how that works). Bartha seems to agree with that. If Laurelin is on board with that and Lorien says so, I'll post that, too.

Sounds good to me!

I need to leave for work, but Chachi, feel free to post as much of Tempest and Etienne's conversation we wrote via PM as you feel is suitable. :)

If you don't get a chance, I can do it when I get home, but you usually seem to be back before me in the evenings.

We can always delay the next phase of exploration a little while. It sounds as if Laurelin has some unfinished business in the barn, too.

Yeah, I think a little stand around and talk time is necessary. Besides, it gives our characters time to talk about what they've seen/done, and Laurelin time to do what she's gotta do.

Whee, quality time with Beldin whilst Laurelin is checking the Dalish woman!

Read: most probably awkward silence whilst waiting for her to return... I love it that she still has no clue who he is and why everyone appears to know him

I'm like.. ridiculously interested in seeing how this turns out.

I'll be the kid hiding behind the dead person tree, shoveling popcorn into my mouth.
