Sorry for no posts today. I ended up staying way too late at work and coming home exhausted. I'll catch up tomorrow. :)

Bartha's lessons to the totally misinterpretating the situation #23

Time to meet the new additions :) If any dogs would have been barking she would have rushed downstairs, but now she's taking her time.

I think Bartha is the only one who's day is only getting worse when she finds out about the dogs  Ugh, having a hard time to nicely and not-that-patiently wait for others to post first...

Been ill since I returned from Gamescom, but went to work nonetheless... but staring at lists is asking more of me than cuddling up and coming up with stories... So I'd rather spend my time up here.

And sorry for going all emo with Bartha there  She really isn't that bad usually!

OMG Mahumia... I just came in here to tell me how much i LOVED Bartha's interpretation of what went on out there.

And, uh, correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure Beldin's shirtless and bloody right now...

I didn't think he was still shirtless, but I did not take the blood into consideration. Dammit.

Well, Rael ripped up his shirt to make bandages, so it's still in pieces. He might have covered up his back somehow. But yeah, the three of them are going to be a bit gory, Beldin the most. So, the bath was a great suggestion! XD

Heh. I'm still trying to figure out when he lost the armor!

But even if his shirt was in tatters, he would have put it back on, even if it was more of a shoulder cape at this point, and Rael wouldn't have torn up his woolen tunic because wool makes for terrible bandages. Like most people, he wears two layers, a shirt made of cheap, undyed linen and a woolen tunic over that. So he's bloody, but covered.

Hey, Bramble, Mahumia and I were thinking about doing a joint post while she's under the weather. Want to use your post in the game thread as a jumping off point for some lovely awkwardness between Tessa, Bartha, and Beldin?

Okay, so Rael is in possession of his linen shirt, in pieces.

Sorry I kinda dropped off the planet for a while there. The experiment I've been working on - the one that determines if my contract will be extended or if I'll be out of work come January - failed, and I've been scrambling to find other experiments I can do to demonstrate that it's worth keeping me around. I'll catch up on stuff now, though, and I should be able to stay caught up.

In any case, I don't expect to be online as much during the day between now and whenever my boss decides what he's going to do with me, but I should be able to keep the game running at more or less the same level. Buuuut, it's possible that I'll have nothing but time in January, so that's something.

Sorry Tempest is being so antisocial. She's intimidated by large groups, especially when they include people she doesn't know. :P

Whoops! I hadn't realized that it was morning already. Could we back it up a little, since there are Events that will happen in the morning? Or we could have them spend a day at the farmhouse resting up, and waiting for Eshara to get talkative.

In retrospect, having that day sail past in general poking around, getting acquainted, and groaning about exhaustion might not be such a bad idea. That was a rather taxing afternoon.

I'm fine with either. Morning did come kind of fast, but it would also make sense for them to take a day to let Eshara recover before they embark on anything else.

Yeah, because that fever isn't going to come down instantaneously, and they're dead in the water until she's well enough to talk to them. The farmhouse has all the comforts of home, and living in such cramped quarters for a day might be good for our not-so-little band.

Is it morning already? Bartha really didn't bath that long! I thought it was just a few hours after sunset, so maybe around 10 pm? Ah well, time flies and such :P

And Berelinde: *sends lots of good vibes and energy in your direction*. I don't think a failed experiment is enough to determine someones value, but that's just me.

Guys, I'm pretty flexible with allowing players to do their own thing, but we're going to have to be a little more structured because it's creating confusion.

Dog and Fen'Harel are apparently player characters, not NPCs as I originally assumed, and they are controlled by their respective players, so we should interact with them the way we would other player characters and not imply that they are doing things without their players' direction.

I know we're all anxious to get the heck out of the farmhouse, but please be patient and let me post when the time of day changes. There are joint posts underway, and at least one of those is now going to be posted as belated.

In the future, I'm going to need to do a better job of describing buildings and scenes rather than just posting screenshots because it has led to some confusion. The farmhouse has three rooms. Originally, it was supposed to be two, the kitchen and the bedroom, with a sleeping loft accessible by means of a ladder, but the sleeping loft has expanded to full bedroom size to accommodate the bathtub. But the part about there being only two rooms on the main floor still stands. There is the bedroom with one double bed and a bunkbed and various bedrolls where Tempest and Eshara are, and there is the kitchen/main room where Bartha, Beldin, Dog, Fen'Harel, Laurelin, Mercuriel, Sarel, and Tessa are. Etienne and Rael are still outside, as far as I know. Bartha and Beldin are involved in a conversation in a relatively secluded corner between the kitchen and the bedroom and Laurelin and Tessa are talking by the fireplace.

We're all roleplayers here and we are all storytellers with ideas about how things should evolve. I don't want to squash anybody's creativity, but now that the group is bigger, we're going to need more structure. I'll try to be more descriptive about floorplans and layouts, but if your specific questions aren't answered by my description, please ask here or via PM.

Edit: Sorry if that came across as grumpy or disapproving. I am grumpy right now because of job stress/pet-induced insomnia (fricking fur brain, you do not need to be up my butt 24/7, okay?), but it has nothing to do with the game. I'll try too keep the spillover to a minimum, but it may become necessary to take a day or two off if it gets too overwhelming. I'll post warning in the vacation thread.

Thanks for the clarification Berelinde! I was also assuming that the dogs were npc's, so good to know that they aren't.

The floorplan was getting a bit confusing to me, and if I mistakingly assumed there would be at least one room 'upstairs' overlooking the garden, please tell me, so I'll adjust Bartha's earlier post. Nonetheless I'll ask next time :)
