Lol, well... it's 4 PM over here, and I don't do coffee  :P

I guess an actual 'OT3' would be a bit too complicated for Bartha. She would not feel really comfortable. So just a tumble it is than... or actual dedication  :P I guess she might be ok with an open relation though.

Yes Bramblefae I'm definitely in Scotland, not a big difference in the time zone though.(once a Euro always a Euro)
I really like how our characters are shaping out to be,and how they interact with each other. Can't wait to see the discussion between Sarel and Rael!

Uhhh... I don't know if you'll be pleased by their interaction. It's shaping up to be quite intense.

Also, I liked all the OT3 responses, but that just isn't strong enough of an approval.

*reads the serious 3-way disccusion, puts chin in hands* Go oooooon....

I honestly don't know how Tess'd do with ONE partner, let alone two.

Let me explain something about Tessa.  In her entire life (which, admittedly, is only 24 years or so), she's NEVER seen a loving couple up close, never seen a healthy relationship.

At this point in her life, she's just...it's an understood conclusion in her mind that "true love" like in the songs Rael sings is something for other people, not for her. Which is why she can blow off the advances of Mercuriel. :D

As for Beldin-the only reason she hasn't shied off from him is because he treats her like another fighter. (Which means, in her mind, she thinks he's being friendly, not flirty, because why would he flirt with her when he clearly appreciates her skill.  She really does have no idea about all this stuff. *grin*)

In short, I think Tessa'd be #Team Beltha (Team Bardin? :P ) because it wouldn't occur to her that such a thing would be possible for her.

I never said she understood nuance at all. :D

Ah, the drama!

I'm not really sure that Beldin is ready for any kind of relationship. He did not have precisely the same kind of childhood that Tessa did, but he has no idea what a healthy relationship looks like. His mother died of a fever when he was quite small, but he has at least half a dozen half-siblings by as many different women. At 24, he's had precisely 3 relationships. One of them ended in a near-death experience, one ended with the object of his affection marrying somebody else, and the third did both. His biggest fear is that he might one day turn into his womanizing father. He can't help feeling attraction, but he'd try to ignore it and take a lot of cold baths.

He might one day outgrow his hangups, but it wouldn't happen anytime soon. He's self-aware enough to know what a mess he is, and he wouldn't want to subject anybody he cares about to... well, to himself, really.

Whoah, that almost sounds like my life, minus the diseased mum. Ah well, I like the current tension between the characters :)

I like it, too, which is why I'm not eager to have it end anytime soon. As I said, there is a lot of time for relationships to develop, be they platonic or romantic, and there's also the possibility that something doesn't quite go where you think it will. In other words, there's plenty of time for people to make a mess of things, if that's what they want to do. :)

Yeah, an OT3 is a three person relationship. It's not everyone's cup of tea (it's not mine in real life,) but it can be a convenient solution to fictional love triangles. ;)

Tempest has never been in a relationship and just assumes she'll always be single. (She'll actually sometimes claim to be asexual, which isn't true but she's pretty good at lying to herself so she can sometimes convince herself of it.) She thinks that because of the scars and the past abuse, she's just too damaged for someone to bother with. I hope someday she'll get over that and manage to have a relationship, but there are some intermediate steps she needs to take before she gets there. As of right now she wouldn't even know where to start.

When it comes to relationships Laurelin is rather inexperienced herself,as she kind of isolated herself from everyone else. The Keeper and the elders of the clan played a role in this isolation as the suspicion that she faces has deeper roots than what she's given to believe. But yes,I'd say that at this point she's starting to have a crush on Mercuriel. xD

I really love how we're all exploring our own characters and each other's characters.  This is really making the group feel like we're getting to know each other in the ways an adventuring group does.

I can't say enough how cool this is for me and how glad I am to be a part of all this awesome. :)

In response to some expressed concern, we aren't very far into the adventure in terms of time, but I urge folks not to become anxious about progress. We're all still getting to know each others' characters and establishing relationships that will grow and change as the adventure progresses, so it's time well spent, and it's one of the reasons I thought it was a good idea to spend an extra day at the farmhouse before pushing through into the forest. Once we're past that turning point, we'll see the payoff, as things will happen kinda fast, and it will be helpful to have so much of this character building completed.

Besides, have we got anything better to do until DAI comes out?

After that, the pace will probably slow as we will all want to play with the new toy, but I'm hopeful that we'll all want to hang in there and see what new trouble our crew can get into. I've got three adventures written up (a lot of which came from your characters' backstories and goals), so we won't have to disband once the Dalish Curse ends. :)

Personally, I'm enjoying the time the characters are getting to hang out and bond. It's fun character development. :) No hurry to get to plot stuff.

I'm definitely down for future adventures, although ideally Tempest would like the chance to see her family in between. She misses her kids.

I'm definitely in it for the long haul. :-D

As far as lagging when DAI comes out, the RP takes so little time, generally, I think it shouldn't be a problem.

I agree with the rest: I don't mind taking it easy and take our time to ROLEPLAY. It is usually annoying to me when groups want to fast forward the downtime and only go to fights (which I would like to fast forward :P). I love the way we do it now :) The only 'concern' I had, was that I had no longer a clue what time of the day it was XD

And regarding playing when DA:I comes out... I agree that it should not be a problem :) The first 1,5 weeks I have booked off from work (got to do something with the amount of holidays I had left), but after that it is back to work anyway... and I tend to post a bit in between tasks :) Can't bring DA:I to work anyway.

Did any of you watch 30 Rock? When Beldin and Tessa were all close, I was like, "Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!"

I don't actually own a television, but it did seem like an obvious way to end it, and if had been Mercuriel instead of Tessa, Beldin probably would have done it, but only as a joke. But maybe it's just as well. I'm not sure I'm up to describing the scene as Beldin picks his teeth up off the ground.

I debated for a bit about having Tess step into Beldin like that, *because* of that. I didn't want to paint either player (You or me) into a corner

It all worked out then! They got to have that delightful "You're way too close" moment and it didn't push their boundaries.

Let me know when all of the RP threads are played out. The bomb will drop before night falls.

That doesn't sound ominous AT ALL.

It sounds very ominous.

Also, fearless leader, I am done, unless you want to RP talking to Eshara (if that's not part of THE BOMB.)

Tempest and Etienne are still chatting, but we can wrap it up pretty quickly. :)
