Well, it's out now, more or less.

 

As a character, he's been around for a while, but the reason I picked him as a stand-in for Boom was that he's the quest-giver for the next adventure.

Does that mean there will be a reunion between Rael and Martin?

Of course! One of many reunions in Logerwold, I think, although not all will involve characters from Beldin's past...

What was the name of Beldin's first pony?

LOL! Mefarath, actually. He was little and had no idea how blasphemous it was, he just liked the name. But his father made him change it to Buttercup, which led into the inevitable conversation about what made boy ponies different from girl ponies.

 

And Rael is still doing it! He has absolutely no clue that she's alluding to romantic aspirations. He thinks she's talking about keeping secrets from the others.

 

It seems that Rael and Beldin are having the same kind relationship issues that Etienne and Tempest are having. In Etienne's case, he's running from internal conflict between what he's been taught and the harsh reality that he never knew, but Tempest doesn't know that. In Beldin's case, he's fighting the conflict between innate honesty and the perceived need to hide, but Rael doesn't know that. What a mess!

So Beldin's brother seems to be a rather unsavoury character,good!I imagine he gave poor Beldin a hard time.
Also,our mages have very interesting interactions and I like that they all have different opinions on magic.Although I'd say that Laurelin has similar views with Sarel as far the circle is concerned.
She's not very fond of the idea but for different reasons.

I got the impression that Sarel totally missed that Bartha started to talk to him? Not really an issue, but than I know I don't have to wait for a response

Let me know when Sarel and Etienne are done. I think we're about ready to reach the manor, but as usual, there's no rush. I'm still writing the arrival post.
