This plot change will be interesting although it will get in the way of Mercuriel seducing Laurelin LOL Just kidding!

 

Mercuriel so far has a very good opinion of Beldin and will defend him strongly. He considers Beldin a possible friend.

I am already thinking that I am going to have Mercuriel become quite emotional for the first time since introducing him. He's already lost Shaunee and he doesn't want to lose another person he thinks he has the possibility of growing close to. Although it depends on Beldin's crime seeing as Mercuriel doesn't know what Beldin has done.

Aaaaand, I'm going to have to wait to give everyone a chance to get their questions in. Somebody got a ringer, and I can't let Beldin answer it without robbing other people of the chance to role-play their character's legal brilliance.

 

It's great RP, though. Some people are asking questions that may be answered evasively, but everything makes awesomely perfect sense for the characters who are doing the asking. So well done!

 

At this point, I'll just start compiling the answers and wait for the people who are in other time zones or have weekend plans to post their parts.

 

In the meantime, we can do a short exchange with Etienne for the healing, and I can get Bartha's escape attempt underway.

 

Edit: Shucks, Bramble, that was what? A few hundred words? It's a written format, so all we have are words to get the point across. Use as many of them as it takes, I say! And it was a great read!

 

I'm going to go back and like everything once I'm done with Etienne and Bartha. Which sounds a lot dirtier than it is.

I can write the replies after all! Mind you, answering the questions will probably make the question that needs to be asked immediately apparent, but that's the way it goes.

 

On second thought, no, I'm not going to post the replies yet. Answering the near-ringers (there are two) will make the obvious question too obvious, and I want Ann, Hannah, and Lorien to have the same opportunities as everyone else.

 

So please give folks who haven't posted yet a chance to do so before the next round of questioning begins, okay?

 

The exceptions to this will be Etienne's healing (let's get that out of the way before Beldin drips nose blood all over the floor... ew) and Bartha's escape. I'll have to sign off for my game night soon, but I can get the replies in before then.

I admit it, I am mean. But I laughed my butt off when I read it the first time. I know that she gives him some later, but the first time I read it, I was highly amused.

I'm going to wait for Ann to post Mercuriel's part, but there were some details in Brian's first post that opened an avenue I hadn't foreseen, which is kinda fun.

 

This is all going to be horribly jumbled. I probably should have instituted a lockdown where no one could enter or leave the courtroom until the entire thing was over, but I didn't, so we're just going to have to live with the time-warps and things out of sequence. Ultimately, it's the side effect of playing a global game where one person is posting something at 6am East Coast US time and someone else won't see it until 5am the next day. Just roll with it. It isn't as if it's going to change the plot.
