Etienne: "We have made the right choice, yes?"

Nah, I think we should go back inside and let Bartha be torn apart by bandits.

I kid, I kid! Don't hurt me!

Seriously, though, that's great role-playing. I love it that Etienne blurts stuff out without really thinking it through to the very end.

:P HEY, THEY COULD HAVE JUST SENT OUT A PARTY, YANNO. ;)

I like making him blurt stuff out, too. He's just so honest with his feelings and worries.

He's right though... let's all go back inside and enjoy some good food and wine, whilst sitting by the hearth in the library! Oh Bartha? Na, she'll be fine. What could ever go wrong? :P

I mean, that's pretty much what he's saying, yes. :P

I like that too and I think he's a good foil for Rael who usually thinks very carefully before she speaks. :-)

ETA: Formatting FTW!!

Seriously, though, when I read that in the game thread, I just about spat my coffee at the screen.

Does her clothing go with her when she shapeshifts? She might come out of it stark naked!

I am absolutely assuming that's the case. If for no other reason than my own amusement at certain reactions. :D

Well, I figure that Ferelden is a lot like western Europe, with a milder climate in the north (I imagine the weather in Highever to be like Provence) and a colder climate in the south (up near the North Sea).  Which would make the Ruswold Valley kind of like the Rhine Valley. It's pretty flipping chilly in late October.

But no, I do realize that you're joking. ;)

I was going to leave that up to Laurelin to decide, but since she didn't ask anybody to bring her gear, I have to assume that it does.

Either that or Beldin may wind up swallowing his own tongue. He hasn't really had a lot of experience with nude women. Not live ones, anyway.

I assumed that much like Flemeth, her clothes stay on but yeah it doesn't really make sense if you think about it.

Oh boy, that would be hilarious,I should have thought of this before having her fly off without asking for gear!

That's a good point!I always thought that Fereldan culture and climate are based on the UK(medieval England and Scotland in particular),but we haven't heard anyone in origins complain about the weather, so I'm not so sure. xD

As an aside (but only sort of), I was looking up Thedosian swearing (In case Tessa sees Laurelin shift back haha), and I found a couple really decent links. Should I toss those in the "Helpful links" thread?

That would work, too, but maybe without so much rain. There are palm trees in Torquay, so it has to be more or less warm all year, and the Orkneys are pretty close to the Arctic Circle. But you can't grow grapes in England, thanks to the lattitude. Well, people do, but I've had English wine, and It was kinda... well, the pizza was worse, so it isn't their worst culinary failure, but it's pretty close. Their cider, on the other hand...

Hehe,Couldn't agree more about the wine but the Scots overcompensate for that, with their whiskey...Too bad I hate whiskey though. As for the pizza ah well...

I'm about to post Laurelin's pov btw, working on some minor details, whether she appears clothed or not,is one of them. But as much as I love funny reactions,I wouldn't want her to be without gear in the cold, because she(I) forgot to ask for it.

This is our first time dealing with Laurelin's shapeshifting. It isn't really covered in the rulebook, so we're making it up as we go. We didn't foresee everything? Oh, well. It isn't as if there's going to be a test.

You can go back and edit your post if you would prefer not to treat clothing and gear as part of her actual body. Whatever makes roleplaying sense to you.

Well clothing and gear should definitely not be treated as part of her actual body, but I can totally see why Bioware chose to go that way.

But anyway,I'm going to edit my original post and instead of having her asking them to keep the non existing window open(*facepalms*).I'll have her requesting some gear.

If you can, maybe you can PM Ann so she can have Mercuriel pick it up on his way out? Or I'm sure any of the rest of us could do it. I just thought the two of you might enjoy his chivalric "Your gown, madame" when he returns it more than a lot of stammering and a blush vivid enough to see the actual capillaries. Of course, you might get that even if Mercuriel does present her with her gear, so it's a win all around.

So, Laurelin did, in fact, shapeshift in front of the entire group, yes? :D *flexes her typing fingers* :D
