I believe Tempest will be holding her action, so that she and Tess can post their combat turn together.
I don't want to hold the whole round, though, because Tempest should still have a major action and will use it to heal Beldin. Can we just share the post? It'll drop Tempest down in the initiative order for this round rather than moving her up but that doesn't matter.
That's kind of what you're doing. ![]()
Any player can move down in initiative order for any reason. Maybe you're doing a joint post with someone, in which case you'd use the last person's initiative position. Maybe you're going to be away for a while and don't want to hold people up. It can be any reason. You can always go after your turn, you just can't go before. It's like you're standing in line at the market and there's somebody with only one item behind you. You can trade places, but you can't jump ahead of the person in front of you unless they ask you to.
"Hold your round" means that you intend to do something this round, but you don't want to do it just yet. ![]()
Gotcha. Thanks! My previous DM used "hold your round" to mean "skip me," which was not my intention. ![]()
Ah, now I understand. Your previous DM used "hold" as in "hold the mustard". I use it like "hold my reservation, please, I'll be 15 minutes late".
Hey, when I posted that thing about major/minor actions, I wasn't calling anybody out for doing something wrong. The rule book is horribly written. It's totally ambiguous and the opposite of clear. I don't blame anyone for interpreting it differently than I did.
It's kind of like our fumbles thing. We can talk it out and work out a solution that works for everyone in the group. ![]()
And don't be afraid to post stuff, even if I remind you to add your strength bonus or whatever. It's the work of a moment to add modifications to the spreadsheet, so there's absolutely no pressure on anyone to be perfect 100% of the time.

...That is actually the perfect analogy! ![]()
And I still don't have a map to post. I'll do it in the morning before anything else, but right now, I'm off to pumpkinville.
Tempest says none of the party members are allowed to die, mkay? ![]()
The good news is that I was able to make up a map for this round. The bad news is that I can't fricking access photobucket. I'll keep working on it.
I was just coming to add my own frown at Photobucket. It's all good, though, don't stress it. ![]()
Yes, photobucket and I have quite a love-hate relationship too... Btw Bramble: I'll get back to our PM shortly.
Hey, lady, you take your time, I know you're traveling/have traveled/are probably very tired of traveling ![]()
I managed to upload the map. Laurelin and Rael are probably a bit closer - Archer 3 would have had to be within 20 yards for the Winter's Grasp to work, but I'm not fussed.
If anyone has a question about whether a particular target is in range, please ask.
Holy sh!t, berelinde, that map is amazing. I did not know how much I needed that.
Thank you!
Check the un-pinned topics folks. I've got two matters open for discussion.
The first is more important. We need to decide if spell preparation is a minor action. I say it is, but I've opened it up to a vote because matters that affect the group as a whole should be decided by the group as a whole, not just by me. Should the majority decide that it's a free action, I'll abide by that decision, but enemy mages will be under the same constraints.
The second pertains to the dogs. Keeping the owner and pet initiatives separate is turning out to be a colossal pain in the butt. Going forward, I'm going to let them share an initiative roll so this whole thing doesn't go to bedlam. Like every ruling I make, it's open to discussion, but on this one, you'd have to work pretty hard to convince me that it wouldn't be better to keep it simple.
Tempest would like to heal Beldin again, but will that interfere with the joint posts you have planned?
He's pretty dazed. She can slap one on him before he even knows what hit him. Which is probably for the best because he's totally not doing his breather. Men. :/
Sounds good!
Am I remembering correctly that we're no longer posting in initiative order? If I'm wrong, let me know and I'll remove the post I just made. Tempest is just talking, anyway.
Are we? I was actually waiting for my turn XD
I believe we're waiting on Sarel at this current moment. ![]()
Yeah, I need to PM Brian about that. I've been swamped at work and haven't had the chance. ![]()
I'll do it today somehow, but to summarize, I pretty much skipped his turn last round. It was because I gave him inconsistent info, so the fault is mine. The inconsistency was mostly in his favor, but the outcome was that he didn't get a chance to revise his actions before Pavel snuffed it, and that wasn't fair to him. I think/hope he understands, but we'll clear that up outside the game.
If he posts by Friday, great, but if he can't (and he may not be able to), maybe we can let Bartha take her turn and Brian can post at will. I don't want to leave him behind *again* having already failed him (at least) once, but I think we're all anxious to get this combat over, finish our post-combat RP, and welcome a new character.

Also Tempest raises a very good point.
