Bartha finds her backpack. Tom was guarding it by lying on top of it.
Effing Quarterstaff Tom. Eff that guy.

I am just wondering how he managed to get on top of it... silly dead people flopping around!
Tom has skills. He's been active every round this combat, in fact. ![]()
Or maybe Bartha was just freaking out when she was looking at him before.

Narrows her eyes.

Wait... so Sarel is... dead? Frozen but alive? Just really cold?
Forever dead. He let players know outside game that he wouldn't be coming back, and there was a need to remove him from the game permanently. I'm not going to get into a lot of details, but I believed that a permanent removal was justified. I'm sorry if this sounds confrontational, but I'm trying to keep the tone more or less neutral. If anybody has questions, please PM me about them. I'm usually in favor of letting characters retire in a graceful potential for re-introduction, but there are times when that won't work as well. If anyone has questions, I encourage you to talk about it with me offline. ![]()
Thanks. That's fine, just wanted to check what the character's status was.
Too bad, but thanks for clarifying your post. I hope Brian enjoyed Sarel though, and I would have loved to have more conversation with Sarel... but I think I get why this choice has been made.
Hey, folks, can we get on the road back to Vintiver? I want to do the debriefing/gifting at Tarl's and bring Rhys in tomorrow, if Kerri's schedule allows it. Vintiver has been... fun?... but I think we're all ready to get moving on the actual quest. I understand that several players have joint posts going on for Tarl's, both in the evening and in the morning, but there's been loads of time to work on them, so I'm hoping that we can pretty much just post them in a go. Please wait for Rhys to make his entrance before anyone starts posting the evening posts, and then wait for the evening posts to finish before moving on to the morning posts. Please let me know if I'm missing anything.
Evening Posts:
Fabian needs to make a trip back to Coalan's to pick up his gear.
Bel takes a walk and Tessa makes sure he doesn't get in (more) trouble.
Rael and Etienne have an awkward conversation.
Rael brings her concerns to Tempest.
Fabian gets acquainted with Bartha.
Morning Posts:
Follow-up conversation between Rael and Tempest
Tessa and Bartha talk.
Tessa has some questions she needs to ask Tempest.
Beldin and Tessa establish boundaries.

Bartha is ready if we need to go. She's happy enough to have her backpack: daggers are easier to replace
Mercuriel is now heading back, hopefully with the others quick to follow. I feel that Mercuriel and Bartha should have a chance in the near future to talk some more. Get to know one another a little better. Also, Mercuriel and Laurelin will need a good romance post at some point. Not necessarily at the Warden's but some point.
*hugs Lorien* I wuvs you!
Tempest and Beldin gave me the feels, you guys. THE FEELS.
Yeah, the scene between Beldin and Tempest was awesome. Really liked it, you guys! Great work!
Seriously, Tempest is like some kind of amplifier for everything other characters are feeling. It's like her superpower or something.
Hannah has this awesome way of bringing it all out and making it seem effortless. Writing with her is an amazing experience. If you haven't done it yet, you really, really should.

This is seriously the truth. She makes me a better roleplayer. She makes me understand my Tess better. ![]()
We'll see
Mercuriel is a bit too flirty I think for any lengthy conversation with Tempest, considering her issue with men getting too close physically with her. But who knows what the future holds!

Thanks for all the compliments, guys! *huggles*
Tempest is an interesting character to write, and interacting with Ruth's characters is tremendously fun! I enjoyed working on that conversation.
I have to say I adore Beldin, he's so sweet and sincere.
The only minor addition I would make to the list of conversations is that Tempest talks to Rael again briefly first thing in the morning. All of Tempest's conversations for the manor are finished, but we need to edit the Rael/Tempest one slightly because they mention Sarel like he's alive because it was written before his demise. We should be able to get that done pretty quickly.
I tried once, but had bad timing, which overruled a conversation
*runs off to read the post everyone talks about*
Aw, sorry about that! If Bartha still wants to talk to Tempest, send me a PM and we can make sure it happens. That way it can be posted whenever it fits. ![]()
I enjoyed the Bartha/Rael conversation!
Poor confused dwarf. ![]()
As luck had it, I kinda crashed and burned last night instead of actually getting anything done, so I'm going to have to delay Rhys's intro until Sunday, but don't worry, you won't have to sit on your hands until then unless they're cold. Usually, I wouldn't do this, so consider it as reparations for being late with the game post.
Tarl's going to be waiting for you at the door, and he'll show you back to the courtroom because it's the only room big enough to contain you all at once. After getting a look at your fatigue levels and the extent of your injuries (Tarl isn't a healer, so all he can see is the bloodstains and the state of your armor and robes), he's going to want to distribute presents to give you an edge when you go into the forest. By local standards, he's a wealthy man, and his weapon collection is extensive, so he's going to let you to take the weapons off his walls. They're all masterwork weapons and give you +1 to attack and +25% to damage (add strength/perception before calculating damage). This halves the usual non-proficiency penalty, -2/-50%. He doesn't have mage staves for obvious reasons, but mages may choose a martial weapon if they wish (Etienne's rapier) or they may opt for a non-weapon gift (Tempest's lute). Lorien, I know you told me what Laurelin wanted, but I don't remember. Would you please remind me? Beldin won't be getting a weapon upgrade. He obviously sucks at keeping himself out of trouble, so Tarl's going to give him armor. If your character chooses a weapon that he or she already possesses, Tarl will ask you to leave your weapon in its place. The weapons on the walls were intended to protect Vintiver in case of attack, so he'll want to replace them if possible. If your character doesn't have a weapon to replace it (mages still need their wands or staves and Bartha's knives are AWOL), he won't ask or expect you to sacrifice anything else. He does have a masterwork crossbow, but no longbows, as they don't hold up as well across centuries. Longbow archers may take 20 arrows that give them the same bonuses they would have had if there was a bow. That will give you something to do while you wait for Rhys to arrive and while Fabian makes as-yet-unannounced trip back to Coalan's to pick up his gear.
I'm just glad you got some sleep. ![]()
Yep, what Bface said - glad you were able to rest! ![]()
Tempest does still want the lute, but she's terrible at asking for things so she may have a little trouble working up to it. ![]()
