Hmm, maybe a little scene where Tarl walks in on her plucking at it. Not all RP has to happen between player characters!

Sounds perfect! She wouldn't ask for it because it's not for combat and she didn't interpret this as "ask for random things from Tarl's house" time. If he saw her messing around with it, though, that would work well.

Just set it up. Assume that she finds it in the library after the treasure is distributed (I still need somebody to try to open that chest!) and the group wanders off to do stuff. He can walk in and they can talk. .

 

 

And some characters may wish to interact with the newly-arrived Rhys.

I'm trying to decide whether to pick up the crossbow or get a short sword. So far, Rael's only used her bow, but if that changes, a better sword might help? Or maybe I should just improve her primary weapon. She's not going to be doing anything spectacular with a sword, +1 or not...

Edit: by the way: how does lockpicking work? I'd guess it's more complicated than a simple ability test, or isn't it? I'm wondering whether Bartha would try to pick a lock, or simply try to smash it open...

It's an ability test. Dexterity(Lockpicking) or whatever it's called. You wouldn't know the target number, but I do.

As for short sword/missile weapon, does Rael see herself as more of a ranged person or a duelist? There are a fair few melee combatants to keep the front line busy, but doing roguish things behind enemy backs is fun, too.

Rael got distracted by Rhys...   If there's still time later, she'll give it a try. But if Fabian's taking it apart, she won't bother.

Fabian isn't taking it apart yet. I thought people would be in more of a hurry to have a go at it, so I forgot to edit that part of the joint post. Please disregard it.

Btw Hannah, are you ok with doing a joint post sometime later? I really want to have some decent conversation with Tempest, but I guess it's better to wait a bit and let Bartha first have some good nights of sleep to let things settle a bit It could already be at the Dalish camp, of course. Just let me know what you prefer.

Hey, folks, can we get on the road back to Vintiver? I want to do the debriefing/gifting at Tarl's and bring Rhys in tomorrow, if Kerri's schedule allows it. Vintiver has been... fun?... but I think we're all ready to get moving on the actual quest. I understand that several players have joint posts going on for Tarl's, both in the evening and in the morning, but there's been loads of time to work on them, so I'm hoping that we can pretty much just post them in a go. Please wait for Rhys to make his entrance before anyone starts posting the evening posts, and then wait for the evening posts to finish before moving on to the morning posts. Please let me know if I'm missing anything.
