Thanks! Where you moved it to was my intention for the time being. :)

I think I may ultimately need to download a new browser because I'm having various forms of fail at the moment. :P

OK, Ann! Mercuriel and Dog are up. You can move up to half Mercuriel's Speed (12/2=6 yards) and do a charge attack (6 yards move; + 1 to attack), or you can move your full speed 12 yards and attack. Tessa probably won't be in range until her round, but if you move and she does, you can be ready for her and attack when she's in range.

Ususally, I'd post prompts as a PM or IM, but we're all a little hazy about major/minor actions and how far we can move before attacking, so I thought it would be more helpful to post it here. This will probably mean that Tessa's attack will post before yours will, but that's OK. Your attack will still land first, because you're effectively holding your round until she arrives. But you do have to post that you're moving!

Edit: And unless you're doing something special (entering stealth, doing an intimidation test, etc), you don't have to roll dice to attack. You can say "I'm attacking you," and flip a coin on the honor system. Her defense is 12, so you've got about a 50% chance of hitting her.

Oh, and about stealth. Entering stealth is a major action, just like the full-move/attack combo. The only reason Beldin was able to move his full range was because he was *not* attacking Laurelin. Speech is a free action, so he was able to stealth/move and speak. Anyone of any class can do a stealth attack, but they don't get to enter stealth, move their full range, and make an attack all in the same round. Also, *only* rogues get to add 1d6 to their next available attack (which will probably be the next round unless the target is close enough). The best a warrior can hope to accomplish with it is to disrupt spellcasting. Their target, even if surprised, can still make a physical attack (punch or use a weapon already in hand) or arcane lance. It's entirely natural for startled people to lash out.

Hey, folks. Sometimes, we all have to get somebody else to make a post for us, or sometimes we have to post in a hurry, and it isn't as awesome as we'd like. During Narrative Mode, there's time to just relax and take it easy and post when we can, but during Combat Mode, posting order is fixed. When somebody doesn't post, it delays the game, sometimes for days. Combat isn't our favorite part of roleplaying, but it is a necessary one, and there's nothing that says you can't go back and edit your post later and make it as elaborate and detailed as you want.

Also, a lot of people are currently holding their rounds. These people are free to post at will at any point before their next turn.

Hey, I know this is obnoxious of me but I can't remember Tempest's full spell list, nor can I find where I wrote it down. If you happen to have it, can you remind me?

I just wanted to write something down in the OC area about my thoughts on something of late. It has been brought to my attention that I have been causing issues for others because of my late posting as well as not creating joint posts ahead of time thus slowing things down for others. This is disrespectful and unfair to all of you, who have daily demands and other things to deal with in your own life yet still work hard to post on time.

I apologize to everyone in our group for causing these issues. I realize now what a problem it is and I don't want to further strain this RP for anyone. We should have fun and enjoy it together - that means me pulling my weight too. Therefore, I am making a proclamation that from now I will work harder to post on time, to respond to others in a timely manner and to create joint posts ahead of time for everyone's sake, not just mine. I want to be a better player and a better person. I want to be worthy of this roleplaying group and I want to be a person that you all want to play with and have in your group.

I hope I can over time show you all how much this RP group means to me and how dedicated I can be. Also, I want to make sure that each of you feels I am giving you the proper respect considering your own time and effort put in to this game.

Lastly, no one has worked harder and been more affected by my ill actions than Ruth. Ruth is an amazing person who I admire in a lot of ways, not least of all being how much she puts up with me. Ruth, to you, I want to make a public apology for wasting your time with my antics. I hope to earn your respect back in time. You are an amazing GM and I don't want to have to add to your stress levels when you already have so much on your plate.

I hope you all still want me to post in this RP group and I look forward to the future fun we and our characters have together. You are all amazing writers and I love being in this group and seeing where this story goes next. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this and, once again, my apologies.

*hug* Hey dear, no worries, at least from my side! It's probably a 12-hour difference between your side and the majority of the group, so obviously that is causing some delay. Me and my European time-zone have already a 7+ hour difference with the rest. It's a large group, so obviously there will be waiting involved :) I think if everyone tries to log on at least once a day for posting, this will help quite a bit.

Yes and I agree with you, Mahumia. I also need to realize that even if I have very little time I can post something quick and come back later and add details to it. I don't always have to use the prettiest words, especially for combat turns.

By the way, the next round can officially start at any time. Players who are holding their rounds can do whatever they want before their next turn. So Bartha, you may go that last 10 yards and attack Fabian if you want. If you do that, change your color back to bright green (you're leaving stealth), flip a coin, and if it's tails, you hit Fabian.

{You can move 11 yards while stealthed. You just can't enter stealth, move 11 yards, and attack in the same round. Assuming that Fabian doesn't see you, you may move the remaining 10 yards next round and attack. Actually, you can attack either way, but if Fabian is surprised, he will not be able to shoot you, only punch or otherwise do something ineffective that doesn't constitute a full hit.}

Thanks for confirmation! I understood that I am not able to attack, but I could not find anywhere whether stealth impaires movement speed.

I confess I didn't pay that much attention to some of the spell conversations we had before I started playing a mage. Did we decide that spells are still minor actions? That is, if I decide to move, can I still cast heal or do I need to wait. I know that Arcane Lance is a minor action, but I think all of the other spells are still major actions.

Just clarifying house rules. :)

It is a question that comes up a lot, so I posted in the game thread. Arcane Lance is just a regular attack, so you can move and cast at the same time. Healing is a touch spell, so movement is implied. Ranged spells are major actions (preparing the spell is a minor action), so you can't cast a ranged spell and move in the same round.

{Mena's Speed is 13, so she can move 13 yards in combination with an Arcane Lance attack. Her Arcane Lance has a range of 18 yards, so the only viable target would be Mercuriel. You'll have to check the range on other spells, though. If you cast a ranged spell, you can't move, so everybody is probably out of range. I know you're aware of all of this. I'm just pointing it out because it's a question that comes up a lot. :)}

Laurelin, just so you know, Mercuriel is in range of your Arcane Lance. You can't get a spell off this round because you were surprised and lost your minor action preparation step, but you can still Arcane Lance Mercuriel, as he is only 16 yards away from you.

Since shouting is a free action, can I do that, whether it's my turn or not?

Now that we're entering a round where there's a potential for a dual-wielder to emerge from stealth, it's important to remember that the player posts both attacks as a convenience, not because both attacks occur simultaneously. This is not Dual Fangs.The first attack will cause the character to leave stealth mode, and the second attack will not occur until after Fabian's move, toward the end of the round.

Bartha will need to roll her stealth again this round, as she will every round she remains in stealth. Fabian has not posted that he is actively on the lookout for stealthed characters, so his opposition roll will come from his list of pre-rolled die rolls. If he is not surprised and chooses to run away, that second blow will not land, as Bartha's Speed is considerably less than Fabian's. If he is surprised, the second blow will land. Assuming that both of Bartha's attacks are successful, an unlucky Fabian might be KO'ed.

Good job, everybody! I believe there's one Tempest post coming up, but Tempest's "death" means the drill is over.

Beldin is going to want to do a quick debriefing before the rest of the evening commences, just a few words to go over how well both teams pulled together and what exactly they did that was so awesome. But I'm leaving work now, and I won't be able to write it until I get home in about 2 hours. OK?

Aw, love (or lust) is in the air for Merc and Laurelin again, it seems! :D

Well Merc has always had lust for Laurelin, haha, but yes, the combat practice and traveling time has put a little of the awkwardness of their disagreement behind them. Plus, his body is just simply drawn to hers ;)

How much time is there between when the sparring match ends and when the bandits arrive?

Tempest would try to heal Bel as soon as she saw him get hurt, but I'm not sure if she'd have enough time to do so before combat starts. :)

Tempest's initiative roll is 10.

Not a chance. It's immediate. Bel's fine, he's just got a trick knee, no actual health loss.

{Also, don't forget to add your Dexterity bonus. I've already included it on the spreadhseet.}

Done.

Round 1 won't start until we get everybody's initiative in. Folks in Europe are sleeping now, so I'll update in the morning. :)
