Hello people, I was wondering if someone could assist me with a problem I have.

I am attempting to create an item that is in a PC's inventory and when used, it will summon forth a custom creature. Now the creature, I have handled but it happens that I do not know how to attach that script to the item that is supposed to summon the creature when used.

Any help is appreciated in advance.

To "attach" a script to an item so it runs when activated, rename the script as follows: "i_[itemtag]_ac".

Thus, if your item tag is "summon_creature_orb", the script shall be named i_summon_creature_orb_ac.

You will also need to add a property to the item "cast spell: activate" (or something along this line, my toolset is not in English).

There are 3 cast spell -> Activate Item properties. The default one is target self, and there are two others, touch and range.  This way you can chose the targetting desired.

They will all fire the same script though.  If it matters what you are targetting, then you can check the target in the script.  And range targetting still allows targeting yourself if i recall, so no need to add multiple of these properties.

Ah, that's what the the third one does: target self...

In your case Xeneize, you'd probably want to use "range", as it will allow you to define where the summoned creature will appear.

@Xeneize: If you need an example, see p. 121-122, vol. 1 of the Toolset Guide linked in my signature.
