Good Morning,

In my group of friends we have 4 PC ME players, and 2 X-Box ME players.  We also have a friend who is interested in ME but he is a PS3 guy.   He has a birthday soon and his wife is asking me for a game that he might like, and of course the ME Trilogy is of course what comes to mind.

If she goes that way, the rest of us would like to buy him the DLC that's not in the Trilogy pack.  I've looked up what comes with the PS3 version, and determined we need to get him about $62 US worth of DLC.

The problem is we have no idea how it works with the Play Station or how to best proceed.  Do PS3 users buy BioWare points like you do on PC?  Does he need to buy points on the PS Network like you do with Nintendo Wii points?  Is there a way to gift him the points or the DLC like you can on Steam?  Or is it just easier to give him cash and tell him what to buy with it (seems crude).

Any help is extremely appreciated.

PS: Admin: Sorry if this is the wrong forum please feel free to move to wherever is best.  Didn't see a clear choice, and the majority of the DLC he would need is for ME3.

There is a downloads section in the main menus of Mass Effect 2 & 3 which directs you to the relevant store page. There is no points system on PS3/4 - you merely buy blocks of credit in denominations if you overrun your balance, e.g. $5. If you give him a list of what you think is worthwhile he will be all set. I think you can get PSN gift cards.

If you know somebody else in your circle with the DLC on ps3, have them log into his PS3, download the all the dlc and leave the account password encrypted. It will all still be available to play  on your friends account when he logs in.

You could use Amazon to purchase the codes you need:

Mass Effect 3 CitadelAmazon

$50 PSN Card for the rest - Amazon

Give him codes and then he can spend it on the available DLC (From Ashes, Omega - ME3 for example)

Or you can go to a retailer that sells PSN cards (probably do a $50 and $20 to cover the costs you think you need)

Thanks so much guys.  Love it.  We'll just chip in for PSN cards and give him a list of what we think are the absolute must haves.  The first idea would be the best except most of our group are PC gamers, and the others either have XBox, or have nothing to do with PSN, and he wouldn't either if not for the F1 game he has.   Cheers, and thanks again to both of you.
