I think I'll play this one grim and fatalistic, but determined at the same time. She won't believe that the world can truly be saved or that she can make a difference, but she will try anyway because curling up in a corner to cry would disgust her. She will be very, very harsh towards people who stand in her way.

My Inquisitors priority will be to find out who did this to Thedas, bring him to justice and close the Breach. The civil war and the mage/templer war will be secondary and he will only impact those events if he really has to.

Oh, going shopping with Vivienne and talking about Dorians mustache is important aswell.

Duh.

It really depends if there will be an origin prologue. My elf mage was diplomatic while my city elf was hateful towards nobles and some humans.

Overall, I'll most likely try to please everybody if I could.

My first will be diverse but similar goals.

Human mage will focus on whats truely happening and unite mages under a new banner.

Elf Rogue will be about uniting the elven people to show the world not all elves are helpless.

My Dwarf Warrior will focus on rebuilding the dwarven to its former glory by uniting the surface and Underground dwarves as one. Then retake some old thaigs.

My Qunari Warrior will focus on diplomatic issues to show other that the whole are mindless qun drones. Then unite the tal vashoth under a new community.

Less or more a goody-two-shoes because I can't play anything else (I tried).

Probably going to be a mage goody-two-shoes in my first playthrough (it's a trend with the DA games, I always start with a mage). Anyone that put the innocents and helpless in danger will freeze to death.

If the game allows for it, my first Inquisitor's attitude to being placed in charge of saving the world is going 'the who wants me to lead the what to defeat the where now? All you humans are crazy!' We'll see if she rises to the occasion and becomes a proper leader with time, but the Snark Button is going to be pressed as often as possible :) .

I generally play the same character in every Dragon Age game:

  • Morality: chaotic good (I like to do what is right, but I don't appreciate someone telling me what that is ;) )
  • Pro mage
  • Anti chantry/templars/Maker
  • Pro Morrigan (whatever she decides is right, I will generally go along with. That included killing Wynne in DA:O  )
  • Pro Tevinter/Old Gods (this has been exceedingly difficult to pull off, since Bioware generally forces you to side against the Imperium. Hoping we have a bit more freedom to roleplay this time around).

I'm the same way, I really didn't enjoy the one evil playthrough I did in Origins and don't want to do it again!
My first PC will be an idealist, who questions authority and fights for the underdogs. And a rouge, I love thinking of her as quick and stealthy.

My characters in all games where I have a choice end up the same.....Kind and just to allies but harsh and unforgiving to enemies. The general population of people(farmers and such) are the most important allies, so my character wont really take sides in political struggles.

I also plan on playing an evil playthrough at some point just for shits and giggles(yes, I giggle when I murder knife someone)

I'm pretty consitent.

I do three run throughs of a Bioware game.

I do the Jack Bauer, usually it's a female character, cause Jack Bauer with boobs and come hiter attitude is the hottest thing ever.

I roll a paragon, usually my first playthrough.  All pristine and awesome.  But usually this is a first run through so I will go with my instincts.

Then I roll an unprepentant bastard.  A complete sociopath out for himself.  SInce Bioware has been going the whole "renegade, not evil" attitude, this guy tends to have hidden depths.  This is my third playthrough and while the choices are hard, d

Don't have a clear confirmation of race/gender, but based on class specs and concepts, this is what I have.

Knight Enchanter- pragmatic, believes in establishing order first and foremost, pro-Circle (with improvements), pro-Chantry. Likely to be a mixture of noble and direct. Noble on a general basis (polite, respectful) but direct when need be (when threatened).

Necromancer- anything 'pro magic', pro-forbidden goes. If it can be achieved through magic and grants some kind of social, political, or personal power, its not off limits. Direct in order to intimidate the naysayers, not afraid to let the Thedas know he/she knows magic and not afraid to wield it.

Rogue (specialization undetermined)- clever, loves a good joke, prefers whatever method spills the least amount of blood while piling the most coins in the treasury. Very persuasive, cunning, and puckish. Morally good but very bad to the enemies.

Templar- Extremely zealous, pro-Chantry, pro-Divine, sibling at arms with Cassandra. Very distrustful of magic and mages but not heartless or merciless towards them either (unless of course, they happen to be EVIL mages. Then this Templar Quizzie will make Meredith look like Ser Wesley). Supports 'the establishment' and 'status quo' while strongly believing that tradition needs reform, not complete change.

Assuming that the origin they give us allows for it, I'm planning on playing it from the perspective of two characters I created for the short story competition.   At the end of that they had got together and so I'm thinking that they travel to the shrine to exchange their vows and then boom, one of them dies.   Then I explore what happens next from the perspective of the survivor.

One is a male mage who has been an apostate all his life, because his family with rich enough and powerful enough to keep him out of the Circle.   They weren't a very nice bunch at all and his early life was spent using blood magic to manipulate the minds of their enemies.   Then he had a moral epiphany, went on a pilgrimage to the shrine, made a vow to renounce his evil ways and try to atone for what he had done in the past.  On his way back he encountered a peasant girl and fell in love.    So whilst he will be all for saving the world and trying to do what is right and just, he will also really want revenge on whoever caused him to lose her.   Because he is from a noble background, he will also be very comfortable dealing with the politics of "the game" and likely to favour espionage.   He knows people can be duplicitous bastards because he was one, so he is unlikely to be fooled easily.   He is also too aware of how mages can abuse their power, because again he did.    I can accommodate his former power with his current state because he had to rebuild his knowledge from scratch after rejecting his former life.   He is constantly fighting the temptation to go that way again.   Only the memory of his promise to her to "stay always in the light", keeps him from it.   He will not give his heart again easily.

Then I'll do it from the perspective of his lady.   She is from a peasant background and grew up on a smallholding on the edge of the Dalelands.   She had always been accepted by her local village because all she ever did was use her magic to heal, mostly animals but also people when the need arose.   Then a Chevaliar tried to rape her, she defended herself with magic and she was dragged off to the Circle.     So she knows what it is like to live there.   She has seen friends made tranquil for no other reason than they seemed a bit rebellious.    She also had good friends who were elves and told her what life was like for their families in the alienage.  However, when the Circle fell she didn't want to join the other mages, she wanted to go home.   Her parents had died from a fever, while she was away, that she is sure she could have cured had she been there.   She wants a better life for all commoners, not just mages.     She acknowledges that she got an education in the Circle but would rather they had schools in every village.   She is a bit of an idealist and naïve when it comes to politics.   Much more forgiving and inclined to take people at face value.    She wants to bring the perpetrator to justice but there is not the danger of her giving way to temptation in the same way as there is for him out of a desire for retribution.    Whilst she truly loved him, I think she will actually need the comfort and support of a new love in her life.

So both can be essentially good characters but he will definitely be a bit more edgy and ruthless, whilst she is more like the characters I usually play.   If the origin doesn't really allow this background for my characters, I will definitely still play a mage first off but probably an elf, which means I'll have to be Dalish.

I'll have many different kinds, but right now I'm planning on having one of my typical "save everyone" type protagonists, and a darker "empire builder" type.  Beyond that I'll have to see what kind of details are revealed about the various Inquisitor's backgrounds.

I'm always surprised everyone is able to come up with what kind of person their character is before they've played the game. I have to know my character's history first and know how the story unfolds before determining their personality and morality. It's something that I like to develop naturally overtime, and then go back and do a perfect roleplay of it. But maybe that's just me.

Mage Human Male: Absent-minded lucky fool. Not used with working with others, so used to and good at getting out of any gripe that he's fine with any plans laid before him. Having to adapt to the idea of having to keep others besides himself alive is a challenge however. What he'll do, and choose will be very much decided by the opinions and feelings of those he enjoys the company of the most, as it doesn't matter all that much to him.

Rogue Elf Male: Introverted unlucky bastard. Who wish he didn't care. Eventually trying to become more social as he starts to take his position more seriously. Disslikes templars, mages, chantry, humans, qunari, everyone. Sort of.

My inquisitor will be the type to leave that tiny bit of chips inside of the bag after grabbing a handful. Just enough will be left to tempt others. But then, since nobody actually wants just a pinchful of chips and they also don't want to be wasteful, they leave the chips alone for weeks until someone finally tries to eat them and finds out they're stale!

MWAHAHAHAHA.

Based on what I know so far! (after reading all the books (except "last flight" but I will) and comics and playing the games ALOT and what the devs have shown us so far)

Female Dwarf (warrior sword and shield especially if varric is a LI, if not then always rogue)

  • Paragon choices, if I can!
  • She will have the mind set of someone who feels "some" things should change.
  • Templar specialization and/or champion specialization
  • Doesn't want to side with either the mages or the templars, because frankly there both nuts!
  • Shes not really into religion, but she is looking into it.
  • Will romance Cullen (if a dwarf can) if Varric isnt a LI.
  • Will side with the city elves, "Some" Dalish are crazy and sometimes act no better than bandits or blood mages!
  • Will side with the Empress (most likely).
  • Will out right deny being the makers chosen!
  • anything else idk right now.

Female Qunari Mage

  • Paragon with a dash of renegade here and there.
  • She will be for change.
  • Mage or templar will depend on what each side is up too! (not looking good for either side)
  • Will deny being the makers chosen.
  • Religion is a complicated subject for her!
  • Will "want" to romance cullen!/ Or varric lol (she wants her teddy bear  lol) Unless bioware doesn't let me  :crying: (which I understand if I cant I guess, with the whole animations issue) Kinda interested in an IB romance with my female qunari (maybe try to get him to leave the Qun, to be with me)
  • Sides with the empress!
  • Sides with city elves.
  • Not sure which specialization yet!
  • anything else idk yet!

My Dalish Mage Inquisitor was First but decided to leave due to disagreements with the Keeper. He decides to explore the world and learn more about magic and history. The reason why he is at the peace conference is his interest in the temple's history and other peoples views on magic.
He supports more freedom for both elves and mages. He is extremely interested in the nature of the Fade, the Breach and the mark on his hand.
As a necromancer he is interested in esoteric forms of magic. He greatly wants to learn more from spirits.
His favorite elven god is Fen'Harel.
He will romance Vivienne and develop a lust for power. His name is Jafar.
