I usually play a bad selfish character first although I am not into the more insane/psycho choices (like supporting slavery/murdering your own sibling for being a mage) I might roll those choices eventually just to see how it plays out but not in any of my main playthroughs.

My first character will be a male elf mage. Seeing as he is dalish I am going to make him more or less accepting of dalish beliefs where as he would have normally been an atheist (like me). Also he will be slightly prejudice against humans and generally nicer to other mages and other elves. Still though he will also take a morrigan style stance on them, for example he would view the city elves as a bit pathetic and would expect them and the mages to fight for their freedom if they truly want it.

First would be female dalish mage. She wold be like Velanna-- proud, rough, but much colder. She would do everything for elves, a bit-- for mages, and nothing-- to shems... Through she don't want to shou that deep inside she is much more kinder than on surface. That's why she likes Sera so much-- this city elf would acts as her conscience and convince her to more kind decisions... Sometimes. Yes, I plan romance her with Sera )

Second-- dalish warriour... Or rogue maybe. He would be kind and romantic, but calm. I think he will like Cassandra... Maybe.

And also I plan to play blondy human mage. If Dorian will be LI only for man, this mage will be male; else-- female. I think he or she will be very optimistic and a bit badass.

And maybe before all this, the very first time, I would play as a qunary mage. This would be draft. )

i would play as

1)male blood(we have blood magic in common skill tree as i understand) mage elven/kossith Inquisitor(still not sure what specialisation would use...necromancy, rift or battle mage)

2)male rogue dwarf Inquisitor

and because i would never play human Cusland/Shep/Hawke 2 again, so only 2-3 options-male mage elf/kossith or dwarf

my Inquisitor(as my male elf blood/arcane/keeper mage GW) will be honest with himself and others no matter if they are my enemies or friends, so he will do what he is considerate right and what is profitable, will be good for him and his allies, and he does not care about hypocrite morality of others and he will do no matter what would happen because he will not turn away..so this would be like "accept or get away from my way and if you willl not, so you will be executed and i don't care if you will beg me for mercy"

my Inquisitor will wipe without mercy and compromise any of those faction and their members if i can

1)Orlais Empire(execute both Celine and Gaspar) with their Bards and Chivaliers,

2)Orlais Chantry,

3)Orlais Templars/Seekers,

4)Antivan Crows,(if they would be in DAI)

5)Qunari(if they would be in DAI)

6)Darkspawns(if they would be in DAI)

7)Demons who will not serve me and would be useless(no matter what i will execute Cole)

my inquisitor will help and side with

1)mages

2)dalish and city elfs

3)dwarfs

4)grey wardens

5)Tevinters/Nevarrans/non-andrastian barbarians/Tal-Vashot-any enemy of Orlais, Qunari and Darkspawns who will not be enemy of my allies

about my companions/advisors...

will try to execute(or if i cant, at least i will make them suffer) my enemies as Cassandra, Culen, Lelianna(what must be dead from Origin), Cole

be friend with Blackwall, Dorian, Solas, Sera(want to romance her, but she is a lesbian) and Iron Bull(before he would try to betray me for Qunari so then i execute him)

be neutral with Scribles, Varrick(i am tired of him) and Vivienne(what i am not like and she is not a mage for what i fought, who was like Fiona, Anders, Merril, Velanna and others)

for now i do not know what i will do with Morrigan(what have a child from my elf male blood/arcane/keeper mage who drink wywern blood) so i will help her or "kill"(she like Flemet and many blood mages(and all those who is DG favorite) do not die easy so i would stop her by seriously injuring) her if she will do somethinc what do not fit into my plans and especially if it will harm those alies for what i fight

Great question, have to know right, it's the first thing you do when you fire up the game anyway.

First play: Human male, Witty, Warrior. I find it hard to be anything other than Pro circle, especially after Anders - DA2, but I will try to know whats up before I default to the circle.

Second play: Qunari / Dwarf female, Mage, not sure how she will be. A free spirit really?

Ever since I found out about the Artificer specialization for rogues, my mind has been set. Oh yeah, making bombs and traps!

Brave, well intentioned, has a sense of humour.

I prefer not to get too detailed before the first playthrough, because I need to know what the game really supports.

I tend to play as an anti-hero, which means my Inquisitor will likely grab power, hook up people I deem worthy, and stomp on those I don't care for.

I do have a vague idea for a female mage, who is very much a circle reformist (believing that mages should run the circles themselves, and have the freedom to choose how they live).  An ice queen type, fascinated with arcane and perhaps forbidden magic, doesn't really have many friends, selfish, pragmatic, maybe a bit nerdy? An unwilling hero, who eventually comes into her own, and finds out what it means to fight for the greater good.

Sounds almost like Vivienne which is alright by me. Vivienne is a fantastic character.

A bit, yes.  Though I see my character as bit anti-social, and definitely less ambitious.  Probably an isolationist leaner - she just wants to study and practice magic and be left the hell alone, at least in the beginning.  Vivienne definitely sounds like a great character - though I can see these two butting heads.  Mostly because they are too similar  :)

I'm planning on making a male Qunari so I'll need to learn more about their background before I make a final decision. But going off what I know, I think I'll have a very straight-forward character with a one track mind. His main goal will be restoration of control over the Templars to the Chanty and he will be influenced by his former people's view of mages and view them as rebel heretics that need to be forced to submit to chantry rule again.

When I make my female character I may be far more understanding of the plight of mages.

A human Warrior or Rogue (I don't like playing Mages for lore reasons, as I side with them as a whole, but like to be impartial,) who is trying to be a good person, leave the world a better place, and save as many people as he can. I really enjoy being a good guy in games that give me the option to be anything I want and make it hard to tell what good actually is. It's so rare right now to have a protagonist who isn't some dark anti-hero and actually cares about stuff, so thank you for that option BioWare.  :)

I'll support a reformed Circle, oppose the Chantry and the Qunari. Try to help elves when I can.

My inquisitor will be a pragmatic, sensible and effecient sword and board warrior. More responsible and alert than the companions, but not overbearing like Cassandra. I don't really think any of the LIs are compatible with him, unless Sera turns out to be a whole lot more likable than she sounds, so probably no romance for the first playthrough. <_<

My Inquisitor is going to be blunt, sarcastic, greedy, pragmatic, selfish, and sexually adventurous. Those characters are more fun to play.

And also, since my character is going to be a greatsword-wielding Qunari reaver, she's going to love pretty dresses.

I'll do everything in my power to help the Dwarven peoples.  If that means clearing Darkspawn from the Deep Roads, or killing many humans and elves, it's all the same to me.  At the end of Inquisition, THE DWARVES WILL RISE!!!!!!!!!!!

My first character is gonna be a human male mage. Warm and friendly as long as you have some value to him, as soon as you don't he'll discard you. Politically deft and manipulative but with a sadistic streak a mile long if you try to get in his way. Somewhat serious and down to earth, isn't really pro mage freedom despite being a mage because he refuses to sully himself with the unwashed masses and he felt he was in a good position where he was. He'll probably get along fabulously with Vivi. He's extremely racist but tends to keep it to himself so I don't picture him being that fond of Solas, Sera or IB though he will of course hide it. He's distasteful of bloodmagic not because of the Chantry but because he sees it as a way that weaker mages use in a pathetic attempt to augment their abilities and why manipulate people with magic when he can use honeyed words? Too brute force and uncouth way for him. He'd probably turn to bloodmagic if he had no other choice but he does well to make sure he's never in that position. I picture him with basic weapons training outside magic, maybe daggers? (It'd explain his skill with the murder knife if nothing else XD). He should be fun to play.

My femqunari mage will probably just be a sweatheart, friend to all living things and what not. XD

I have four different characters planned out. Lemme just lift their descriptions from my DA wiki profile...

Issala (female qunari) is conflicted about the mages due to the Qun's beliefs about saarebas, feeling as though she is obligated to honor her roots, but at the same time, feeling a disconnect with her heritage. She feels an affinity with elves (especially city elves) for this very reason. She has even more difficulties with elven mages, as the Dalish (i. e. native elven culture) do not view magic as a negative thing.

Hayden (male human) is very financially motivated and opportunistic, prioritizing his own safety and comfort above all else. He sympathizes with mages in their desire for freedom, but only passively, and will not hesitate to throw them to the wolves if it suits him.

Revas (female elf) hates humans, and is passionate about elf rights. She sympathizes with mages' oppression, particularly the oppression of elven mages by humans who force their values on her kind.

I don't really have anything concrete for Samahl (male elf) yet, other than him being sassy and significantly kinder than Hayden.

Sexuality-wise, Samahl is bi, Hayden is bi, Revas is a lesbian, and Issala is... Cass-sexual? Maybe?

A lawful neutral human male warrior completely ruled by duty who is single-minded in his goal to restore order to the realm. Glory, wealth, fame, and personal power will have no meaning for him beyond any aid they provide in furthering his goal. His loyalty will lie to the realm and not the factions inhabiting it, and anyone who threatens the security of the realm or stands in the way of his end goal, be they mage or templar, noble or commoner, human or elf, can be expect to be dealt with mercilessly. No quarter will be given to rebels of any kind, no matter how much the Inquisitor might sympathize with the grievances that led to rebellion.

My first inquisitor will probably be a male human mage, although I'm not wedded to that or anything. I'd like to try and have something of a broad arc for my character, so he could start out more idealistic perhaps and then become more world-weary as events start to wear him down. I don't feel any particular pressure to make him the ultimate badass, or make him immune from making mistakes. Sometimes, he'll make the wrong decision, sometimes he'll look like an idiot, and sometimes, things just won't go his way. To me anyways, that just makes for more interesting storytelling Flawless heroes tend to bore me a bit (see especially the early seasons of Star Trek: The Next Generation for an example of why this is so).

Not all too detailed at this point (in part so as to be able to accommodate whatever restrictions they may put on it):

1) male elf rogue whose primary motivation is to improve the lot of the downtrodden, i.e. mages and especially elves

world background: male elf Circle mage Warden who was more or less the same (and put both candidates on the Fereldan throne)

2) female human mage whose primary motivation is to answer the noble call and save the world all selfless-like

world background: female human noble warrior Warden who was more or less the same (and queen consort of Ferelden)

3) male dwarf warrior whose primary motivation is to get the best deal out of it for himself, with his friends & family ranked second

world background: female dwarf commoner rogue Warden who was more or less the same (with Anora queen and Alistair drunk)

4) ...I guess my Vashoth would be a female mage? Got no real plan yet.

world background: whatever they choose as standard, I suppose (would be my only one without an OGB, by the way)
