Instead of just giving you a slower recharge speed on powers, should all weapons work sort of like the Spitfire in that they affect movement speed based on the weight of the weapon?

No more than 10-20%, otherwise it would be a pain in the booty hole.

IDK but personally restricted movement is a deal ender for me. Stun lock, slow movement speed, etc just drain the fun out of the game. I cannot stand the spitfire, juggernaut, and don't really enjoy devastator mode because of the speed issues.

would be more realistic, but i guess that ME4 is not supposed to be a "realistic" game or even a military simulation, so why should they change this?

I mean it's realistic that fatigue effects power usage and more weight equals more fatigue. Even if you can carry more weight it reduces you're power usage, speed reduction on top of that would be just stupid to me.

So do combat classes get more weight capacity?

Even more reason to never use an LMG other than the Hurricane.

So do combat classes get more weight capacity?

In a way, yes. Volus have 15pts of extra weight capacity, but they are the only race with the smallest weight capacity + weight capacity bonus. Quarian, Geth, and Human kits sort of share the same weight capacity, although, certain kits do have their own individual power trees.

Weight capacity revolves around the particular kit and/or species. The Geth Juggernaut Soldier has a maximum Weight Capacity of 50pts.

Never heard complaints about weight effects after a new balance. I suggest keep the ME3 combat basics, so YES. Balances can be make laterz.

Yeah! That way they can make DLC characters who aren't affected by it, charge people for 'em, have dumba_ses P2W in a co-op game, yet, never make it a co-op game, make it a PVP, even romances in the campaign will be PVP! PVP will be PPVVPP (that's way more PVP than the entire history of PVP)!

I feel like I'm on the right track here. It just feels like really good things will come from those ideas.

Yeah, I don't want any o' my kits becomin' non-stagger-free Destroyers.

I was thinking about that some days ago... I would say yes, but it would have to be very noticeable only with the heaviest weapons. To be more specific, the difference in speed between carrying a Tempest or a Hurricane should be almost unnoticeable IMO.

Imagine how much fun the spitfire destroyer would be with that mechanic in place.

Nah. If you're going to have a movement penalty, on top of a cool down penalty, then you're going to have a shelf full of weapons that rarely, if ever, get used...or kits that wind up being the designated synch-kill guy/girl on the team.

I can get down with this. Would make a lot more sense than, say, balancing sniper rifles by giving them a hipfire penalty. (And shotguns too? Can't recall.)

No thanks, ME3's combat was the best out of the 3 current games(with 1 being not too far off.)

If anything, the only thing that needs to be reasonably fixed is right hand advantage and sync kill functionality.

No. I do want weapon length, weight and ergonomics to be somehow translated into video game form but I don't think that having a lower movement speed when using heavy guns is the way to go. That idea would make Javelin/BW wielding infiltrators, Raider vanguards or any kit with a Typhoon or a Crusader very frustrating to play. Not to mention that if you want to carry 2 guns, you're SOL.

I think the sweet spot b/w gameplay and realism when it comes to weight would be some sort of penalty for firing right after running with a heavy weapon. Say a rather heavy amount of bullet deviation (or scope sway for scoped guns) for 2 seconds after running with a heavy gun.

No, because in the future everybody and his grandma' would be wearing a full suit of power armour, so weight really isn't going to be an issue.
