If you're struggling with character creation, I'll be on skype tomorrow evening, 17 June, from 8pm to 11pm Eastern Standard Time (US). I think that's 1am - 4am GMT. Send me a PM and I'll share my contact info.

As the week goes on, I'll see if I can set up other skype sessions to accommodate other time zones and other schedules.

I'm on Skype now. My contact info is Ruth Tannahill.

Don't be shy. After watching my fiance struggle to create his character (he's been playing DnD since 1976), I'm forced to admit that character creation is not easy. If you'd like to do it together, we can.

So maybe using the chat wasn't such a good idea, lol. I was hoping we could get together and all before everyone joined in for the night! But hey, it is what it is. Plan b?

We reschedule for another night?

What dates/times are good for you?

I gotta say that I'm usually a morning person and it's rare for me to be up at this hour, but if I know in advance that I have an appointment to keep, I can be flexible.

Long story short: tell me what time you want to work on char-gen, and I'll be there.

This goes for anyone who has not already submitted a character sheet. If you get stuck, let me know, and we'll do it together online. It's frickin' complicated, and you don't start getting the hang of it until you've made a few.

If we can do it via a chat or forum, I could do it pretty much any time. I tend to be online all throughout the day, just not always in a huge block of time. And any time after 9 CST, I'm on.

Or heck, how much longer are you going to be on tonight? Maybe we could just do a secondary chat?

I need to be at work in less than 8 hours. I should have been in bed an hour ago.

Maybe tomorrow? 9pm CST is 10pm EST. That gives us 1 hour, but that's enough.

Do you skype? Because that might be easiest, especially if we use voice mode. That way, you could be doing the internet things while I'm walking you through it.

Sounds good to me! I'm sure I can kick my husb out of the living room long enough to do it. Is it okay if I post up his concept and whatnot in here in the interim? Or do I need to do this with you first?

You (and anyone else) can absolutely post the character concept and portrait even before you work out the character details. The character details are simply that: details. I only care about them because dice rolling will have to happen at some point, or I'd avoid them entirely.  So post your character bio with perfect confidence that somehow, it will be the way you want it to be. It will. And the same goes for anyone else who has not yet posted their character bio. The details aren't really that important. Post away, and we'll work it out as we go.
