I wanted to see Cauthrien again, but guess that won't happen since her VA voices the Female Inquisitor.
It can still work, it'll just feel alittle awkward lol
can past companions count?

Maybe she could pull a Johnny Yong Bosch and awkwardly try to pitch up her voice for the secondary character a la Souji and Adachi from the Persona 4 anime. /references no one will get

Or we could make our Quizzy's look just like her and pretend they're long lost twins. ![]()

Well, worst case I can just make one of my Inquisitors into Ser Cauthrien.
I wouldn't consider squadmates minor/secondary characters.

I got them. Though I am an anime nerd so not surprising. ![]()

That too.

Dagna - the most unlikely scholar in the Circle of Magi, she wanted to study magic despite being unable to wield it for being born a dwarf. If your warden helps her reach the Circle she eventually accomplishes tremendous research on lyrium which leads to the creation of a Circle of Magi in Orzammar. As a Circle outside Chantry controlled lands this would serve as fuel to the Mage-Templar war. I would be great to see her growth and to see the effects of her work first hand.
I remember her being mentioned on a loading screen in one of DAI videos. So I'd take it for granted.
That aside if I had to chose one from each previous DA games I'd like to see Feynriel and Greagoir (which is unlikely as he was already old enough in DAO)..

Carroll, Godwin, and the little kid from Lothering, who was looking for his mother. He'd be old enough to be a templar now, come to think of it. . .

Carroll was actually my favorite character, though.

And I would be lying if I said I didn't miss Xenon the Antiquarian. He's the reason why I spent countless hours in the Black Emporium, touching everything I could find just to hear him talk.

I hope there's another Black Emporium out there you can go to!

Teagan was the Ferelden Ambassador to Orlais in Masked Empire, which is probably why he wasn't around to stop the takeover of Redcliffe.
I'd like to find Lily. May be by now they would have released her but if not then storming a Templar stronghold and rescuing her would be good. Then track down Jowan. I have a nasty feeling that if they didn't execute him, he'd have been made tranquil. At the time he probably welcomed it as he couldn't live with himself for all the anguish he had caused but I reckon touching him with the green glow would restore him.
It would be nice to see Fergus again, find out if he remarried and has any children.
I'd also like to know what became of the rest of Mahariel's clan that didn't go with them to Kirkwall. Quite clearly some stayed behind because I spoke with my foster Mum after the Battle of Denerim (when the rest were already gone) and also we never saw any children with the clan in DA2, yet there was a whole group of them in Origins. I'd also like to know what happened to the Kirkwall group after they lost Marethari. No Halla, no Keeper and no First, or only a very inexperienced one if they had managed to find a replacement for Merrill - the future didn't look particularly bright for them. I thought everyone from Keeper down behaved like a bunch of idiots staying there so long but they were family, so it would be nice to catch up.

I think I'd like to find out that Aveline left Kirkwall and the little girl we saved from the. . . "possessed" man is captain of the guard.

Bodhan. He's been in both games and in some of the DLCs. We speak to him all the time if we want goods.

I thought Bodhan and Sandal were already confirmed? Aren't they working in Empress Celene's court this game? I'll be happy to see both of them again, though.

I don't think they have been "officially" confirmed, but it is almost certain that they will be in the game. Bodhan said that he and Sandal had been invited to Empress Celene's court, as you mentioned.
I actually liked the secondary characters that appeared in Witch Hunt: Ariane and Finn. It'd be nice to see them again.
I also have a soft spot for Shale's bitter and sardonic humor.

How about the lady of the forest? If you sided with the werewolves in origins then she is still alive. With the world the way it is and her being a spirit technically could make for an interesting side quest.
While not a "sub character" I would also be interested to see if Sebastion goes back to starkhaven and raises his "army"
